Amazing temple with an interesting history.. unique because one of the four temples in Sri Lanka with a octagonal image house . The full name is the Kataluwa Ranwella Purana Viharaya. Other than the amazing and unusual murals it has the first printing press used to print Buddhist literature.

The old temple complex (not easy to find the exact dates) stands near Kaggala lake. The buildings and paintings look old and the view of thr surroundings is very nice

Sri lankans first press found in here (Lankalokaya paper). German press which was donated from Siyama.
