The
location
of
this
small
hotel
is
the
top
feature.
Inspite
of
the
name,
it
is
not
on
the
beach,
and
there
is
really
not
much
beach
in
Galle
Fort
anyway.
But
staying
overnight
in
Galle
Fort
is
a
terrific
way
to
experience
it,
where
there
are
the
historic
ramparts,
sunrise
and
sunset
views,
museums,
old
churches
and
interesting
restaurants
all
within
a
few
blocks.
The
amenities
provided
by
this
Guest
House
are
above
average,
including
a
common
area
where
you
can
make
a
secluded
early
cup
of
tea
if
you
are
an
introverted
morning
lark
like
me,
or
socialize
with
other
guests
if
you
are
a
night
owl
extrovert
(unlike
me).
Breakfast
was
exceptional,
although
not
available
before
about
7:30
(which
I've
come
to
learn
is
typical
of
these
establishments).
The
room
was
good
-
an
older
building
that
has
been
maintained
&
repaired
to
be
in
good
working
order,
dresser,
writing
desk
and
chair,
and
has
a
roomy
bathroom.
To
be
honest,
I
didn't
spend
much
time
in
the
room,
but
was
out
and
about
except
when
sleeping
and
so
on.
The
only
negative
is
that
the
service
does
not
have
a
"homestay"
feel
to
it,
it
is
more
like
hotel
employees
(but
good
and
attentive
ones).
