Very nice accomodation with huge rooms and high equipment. The rooms have a new air condition and two ceiling fans. We had a super clean and comfortable bathroom. The pool is very clean und super refreshing. The owner and his family are more then warm welcoming. We a had a wonderful stay here and you have to order the Sri Lankan breakfast. It was the best that we had during three weeks of travelling.

Our stay in the Abundia was the best we had on our whole 2 weeks trip through the middle and south west of Sri Lanka. Our whole room including the bathroom, was as clean as it could get - no complains at all. The pool is perfect as well including pristine clean water with some toys to play around. The owner was kind and not interested in scamming us into something overpriced. Last but not least we had a delicious breakfast including the very best of Sri Lankas fruits ( also off season ) and a variety of traditional breakfast dishes. If you want a fair priced and friendly homestay, you found it :) Enjoy your stay

I'm still at the hotel and we've extended by an extra week as we love it so much. I was going to wait to write the review but when looking on booking.com to show my friend where I'm staying I noticed a couple reviews which angered me. The latest review talks of staff mistreating people...look at the hundreds of reviews on every site and you'll notice how untrue this can be. I've never met more loving people in my life. My girlfriend and mum are joining them for midnight mass at church tonight. They literally wait on every guest constantly. Any thing you could want they will do their best. Way way way above and beyond any staff I've ever seen... We were here during the other reviews stays and late into the evening the staff were constantly bringing them drinks and food and dancing with them. There's some insects...its Sri Lanka! There's insects everywhere. We've been here 6 weeks and this place is actually quite good at minimising it but yeah there some mosquitos...dur. It's 5 mins to the beach or even less in a Tuk or a 18 min walk, very easy. The pools great. The breakfast is great. This review feels personal as within 6 days they already feel like family, that's how good they are and they care SO much.

Super clean, nice rooms and the best people! I would recommend this place to my mother. We extended our stay twice because we didn't want to leave. Also the location is great because it's in the middle between Unawatuna Beach and Galle. If we return to Sri Lanka we will come back here for sure.

It’s not just a home stay... This is a place with a big heart and love to all the guests ❤️ Was wonderful time with them... Feeling like at home. Simple, quiet and warm. Perfect location, which is not far to the main part of Unawatuna, close to Gale and so easy way for small tracking to Jungle beach. If you are going to stay in Unawatuna, don’t think too long! We stayed 6night in Abundia Home stay with 1,5year baby. The rooms are well equipped with all you need for your stay. There is also fully equipped kitchen for guests with all you need. There is lovely clean pool the staff is very friendly and helpful, you can ask them for anything and they will help you. They have perfect home made breakfast daily. Location is good because within couple minutes by Tuktuk you can chose three beaches options. We loved our stay here. We can highly recommend.

We recommend staying in Abundia as high as this is possible! It is the exceptional place because of its hosts, that treat every guest with great care and open heart. Whole place is kept in excellent condition and it is perfectly clean, hosts take care of every detail. Breakfasts are so fresh, tasty, and in generous amounts. You can also order dinner - we were offered rare rainbow tuna and it was one of the best seafood we have ever eaten - prepared by the host himself. On every request there is an instant help and solution. It feels like home with Abundia Family :)

This is a place you MUST stay for more days than one. The rooms are big and very clean. But the rooms are not the reason why you would like to stay here. It’s the hospitality and the kind people that help you. It’s called a home stay for a reason because within a few hours you’re already part of the family. The facilities are well maintained and proper clean. The breakfast is so good and they have great tips to visit. The location is perfect because you are out of the busy area near Galle but yet close to many great spots. They have some great contacts so you’d always be certain of a ride to a nice spot.

I had an amazing experience staying at Abundia Homestay with my partner. The accommodation was perfect for a couple or a family - it had everything we needed and more. The whole family and staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, and we couldn't have asked for better hosts. The food was exceptional and we enjoyed every meal we had at Abundia Homestay. Very nice stay! The rooms are very big and comfortable. There is also a very nice swimming and the hosts are so kind and helpfull. They also provide a good breakfast. I highly recommend this stay in Unawatuna!

We stayed two nights and we felt like home. On arrival we were presented with some fresh fruit smoothie, it was incredible. We asked if it was possible to have dinner, without any hesitation they went to the fishmarket and prepared a loved meal with fresh prawn’s ( delicious). The room was cleaned, the bed was great, overall 5 stars. There’s a bike rental in front , for anyone who wants to rental a bike it’s perfect. If one day we return for sure we will be staying again.

Best place to stay in Unawatuna. The hosts are extremely warm and kind. They greet you with cold towels to freshen up, some welcome food and drinks. It’s a family run place with great food, beautiful swimming pool and surroundings. The rooms are very clean, spacious with all the needed amenities.

What a wonderful place! We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Abundia Home Stay. The owner was extremely hospitable and helpful, our room was spacious and pretty and we loved the big (shared) balcony with the pool view and the comfortable chairs. The best place in Sri Lanka! The kindest hospitality, the family is so sweet and nothing is too much trouble for them, they genuinely want to help with anything you need and do so with a smile. They are very hard working, constantly cleaning, preparing food and upkeeping the hotel. Beautiful large rooms with cold excellent working air conditioning and brand new amenities. Amazing outdoor area to relax in with a clean pool, surrounded by lush trees and sometimes monkeys! The breakfast is the largest most varied I’ve ever had, comprising of so many delicious fresh fruits and freshly homemade Sri Lankan specialties that keeps you going all day. Location is good, 20min walking to jungle or Unawatuna beach and close to many restaurants and stores. I can’t wait to come back!

Incredible manager nothing is too much for him he will help with our every need the place is clean and tidy, big rooms all very nice .great breakfast a mix of tradition and Sri Lankan. Ideally situated for beaches or where ever you want to go I would stay there again in a heart beat!

We went there in 2020 without planning while on a visit to Jungle Beach. Picked them on Google maps. Impact of Covid was huge on tourism in Sri Lanka that time. And this beautiful small hotel faced the same. But, they treated us really well with our unexpected visit. Owner is very humble and helpful. Highly recommend. Wish you all the best.

Can’t recommend this Home Stay enough! We booked for just 1 night and have already extended to 3. Close to many popular restaurants and shops in Unawatuna as well as many beaches. The family run accommodation and restaurant is very well organised. The staff work tirelessly, day and night. The pool is huge. very clean and the perfect temperature. The owner and his son have been so kind and polite during our stay, doing everything they can to make our stay as comfortable as possible (we are a family of 4, travelling with our 1 and 3 yr old). Upon arrival, the owner immediately upgraded our room to the larger room free of charge and he also sourced us a baby cot as he could see I was a little worried about my 1 yr old sleeping on a bed. The breakfast has been ample and very fresh, the little ones loved having the food served on platters! The dinners are fantastic too, fresh seafood and homemade curries, all very delicious. The staff have gone over and beyond for our little family. We’d highly recommended to any sort of traveller. Thanks for having us Abundia, keep up the great work.

Amazing start to our holiday. The staff were super helpful and welcoming. Appreciated that we have travelled far and arrived super jet lagged so they accommodated for this. The rooms are huge and super clean- pool is a lovely addition. Breakfast is MEGA!!! Definitely stay here!!!! Can’t wait to go back.

One of the best places I've stayed. The family was super nice, the breakfast was huge and with variety, the room was very clean and comfy. It's in the main road away from the tourist center and the swimming pool it's just wicked. I would definetly come back. Also ask the owner (the father) for the special prawns dinner. Abundia is such a great hotel and restaurant. We stayed for two nights at the end of the trip and we were so well taken care of by the family and staff. It is hands down the best breakfast and rice and curry we had in Sri Lanka. During our stay they opened up the restaurant to the public and the vibe was so lovely. Honestly I can’t recommend this place enough!

Clean and spacious rooms, with good working AC and nice smelling towels. We ate breakfast everyday, which was very good but a lot. We tried not to waste anything, but there was no way we could eat everything, which made us feel guilty since we knew it would get thrown away afterwards. One night we had crab for dinner. This was delicious but also a lot, because of which we couldn’t eat the - also delicious - nasi (fried rice). This made us feel guilty again haha. They tried to give us the best service you could imagine, but for us personally this was a bit too much. This made us feel slightly uncomfortable at times, since the service was actually really good, but it felt like everyone there was (literally) seeking confirmation they were the best. Sometimes, less is more. However, we had a very comfortable stay and without the above this could have been the best stay we’ve had in Sri Lanka.
