Location is awesome. Right next to the river. Riverside view and feel is awesome. Have a dedicated parking space, maybe a bit tricky to see for first timers. Service is also great. The do the work very professionally. Food is just awesome. Nothing to complain about the taste or the quantity. Every dish we tried was great.

We found this place based on people’s review on Google maps and thought we should give it a try. The setting is absolutely stunning, it’s overlooking a river and it’s filled with trees and different plants. It was very nice to sit and have a meal there. As for the service, it was slow. We had to ask for eating plates repeatedly for 20 minutes in order to start eating. When it comes to food, the food tasted good! We had sweet and sour prawns, deviled chicken, veggie noodles, and a couple of drinks. My personal favorite was the deviled chicken. As for the drinks, I ordered a virgin mojito and it tasted soooooo good, the other drink was an apple juice and it didn’t taste good at all. All in all, our experience was good, you should give this place a shot.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pier88 River Bar and Restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed. It had stunning views of the water, beautifully decorated, beautiful waterfront location, delicious food and drinks. The quality and quantity of the food was amazing. This is the only restaurant we found best in Bentota/Aluthgama and we dined here during all of our 3 days of stay in Bentota. Couple of small suggestions to the restaurant would be to improve the service time and also to manage the mosquito problem well for the customers especially in the evening.

We had dinner here tonight, and was pleasantly surprised how lovely the outdoor setting was. Nice and tropical feel right on the Bentota river, with lovely colour lights through out. The service was fantastic and explained the menu well. The kids had a Chicken Burger/Beef Burger with Fries and they loved it. Us adults had a Prawn Cocktail to start, Prawn Curry and Sirloin Steak meal between us for mains. All meals were a decent size and yummy, especially the prawn curry that was amazing. The price was RS 5070 for entree, four mains and drinks. Would fully recommend a visit.

Delicious Tuna-Steak. Super hot but incredible tasty Tom Yum Soup. I was sitting there drinking my vanilla iced coffee. Then I saw an Eagle flying over the river 10meters before me. A great restaurant near Benthota river. Nice and calm place. We orderd seafood fried rice, and served within 20 mins. It was hot and fresh. The portion was also good and really delicious. Staff is okay and seems friendly. Big parking is available near the restaurant.

I found the place on Google maps. To begin with, this place has great view and a lot of tables, drinks menu is great and you can relax here is you swing by. Other thing is food. Menu is huge and this makes this place suitable to different tastes, but quality is poor. I would rate food 1-2/5. If you have tried fish, Lankan food, deserts you will understand me. So in conclusion, polite staff and great view but if you want quality food – not the place.

Quite place on riverside, good menu (western, asian, Lanka). When I was here for the first time, everything was good. When I came a second time with friends, the service and dishes were terrible. Calamari and fish were overkill, coffee we waited 1 hour, watermelon juice 1:10 hours. Sad

Visited this place for lunch last Sunday based on the Google map review score which was very promising. The parking space was very small but anyway could be managed using the roadside since there's no heavy traffic. The surrounding is really nice, next to a river branch with tree-view and a statue of a Buddhist temple little far. It was nice to sit and have a meal there. We ordered chicken fried rice and a sea-food one, which got served in around 15-20 minutes. The taste was very good and the portion sizes were quite average. For the drinks, we ordered avocado juice, it tasted fresh and so good. Apart from food, there was a small area which was used by the visitors for taking photos, some nice doors, windows, wall and a bench. Prices were also average and our overall experience was good, you may give this place a try.

It forms a beautiful sight in the evening, especially looking in from a boat in the river. It's main drawback is not having parking space. Only one vehicle can be parked in front of the restaurant. At non crowded times street parking is possible. One can access the restaurant from the river by boat or jetski. There's a nice variety of food and drinks served here. It is recommended to sit at the tables placed outside on a "floating deck" during the cool evenings. If you sit facing the river you can get a glimpse of the numerous activities going on in the river. There is a good restroom available for customers here. Service here is good and quick. The staff is courteous. If you happen to stay in Bentota/Aluthgama area be sure to visit this almost iconic restaurant.

Our driver Anura introduced us to pier 88 when shopping at the little supermarket next door for essentials. He then arranged a boat trip up river which called in at pier 88 onthe way back. Great place great people. If you shop at the little supermarket next door you get 10% off your bill at pier88.
