We got a 30min Tuk Tuk from Weligama to the snake farm. The owner came out and greeted us and was very friendly. He got some seats for us and then started bringing out the snakes! One by one we saw vipers, cobras and pythons! One that just been caught in a local house the day before. It was a great experience and well worth the 5k (we left a big tip) for being able to hold a few of the snakes whilst learning about them and what they do at the snake farm. It is a long family business of helping and saving snakes whilst making anti-venom for locals. Well worth it!

We had a great time learning all about venomous and non venomous snakes with Sisa! A group of 4 of us went and it was super fun. They even gave some coconuts to drink and eat. This is one of the best places in and around Mirissa/matara. Sisanka, who manages this farm, rescues snakes, treats injured snakes and sets them free into the jungle once they are ready. He explained about each snake that he was helping and also allowed us to pet the non venomous snakes. If you are visiting southern part of srilanka, you can add this to your list.
