Very simple turtle hatchery and nursery/hospital....the owner lost most of his family and the sanctuary in 2004 tsunami, the community helped him rebuild it and he cares a great deal about the turtles...the cost is 500rupee to enter and donations are greatly appreciated....i gladly donated...he pays for the eggs to be brought to him to be looked after and at 2 months most are released..he also teaches wounded turtles how to swim and cares for older ones.....well worth 2 hours of time....

This place is very small but clean and clear descriptions. I like the fact they care for injured turtles but the tanks are very small. I don't like the fact they charge extra for foreigners as like other places. They don't realise it creates a negative image against them. They can ask for donations for their shortfall, I am sure people happy to give if they can afford.

Turtle farm, they help injured turtles and take care of eggs and left little turtles go wild. Very kind boss, explain about turtles. You can catch them. It's worthy. :) You can go by bus from hikkaduwa. Stop at the big buddha statue.
