We had stayed close by to this place and so we woke up early to enjoy the beach.. We were the only ones early morning at 5.30 am just enough light before the sun rise and capture it. The beach is a coral beach and so we need to be careful when walking. A lot of debris and trash too here and there but other than that it was awesome beach. We found three dogs to greet us and later they were busy playing and catching crabs. Later I got so tempted that I decided to have a swim. The water was warm and the decision to get in the water was the best one. The water is shallow and safe and anyone can even waddle till waist deep. Lovely sunrise . Listening to the waves was meditation for me

Great beach just steps away from the lighthouse. There are some shade trees set back from the beach, on a fairly uncrowded day at the fort, it was pretty crowded at the beach. Nice sand, blue water, the only downside might be all the trash cans were full, and overflowing making it a little gross.

A place with a free peaceful environment, but now a bit polluted by people dumping garbage. There is a place to dump garbage here but people are frustrated about throwing it in the beautiful sea. Good place for swimming 🏊

Nice little beach at the edge of Galle Fort. The waves around the Fort is big and unsuitable for swimming. However, this place is shielded by rocks making the waves much gentler here and perfect for a dip in the sea. Many locals and foreigners come here.

A beautiful beach right in the city center! The sand is clean by the standards of the country, it is frequented by locals who use to swim dressed but they don't mind tourists in bikinis. The water is shallow and the waves are never strong thanks to the breakwaters positioned offshore.

This beach is beautiful and I really liked it, because of the calmness and the vibe it gives. Can really enjoy while laying the head on a matt. This beach is quite crowded on holidays.

(Went on 18 June 2023, reviewed on 2 July 2023) A nice small beach that can be accessed via a staircase located close to the iconic Galle Lighthouse. I didn’t spend much time though as I wanted to explore Matara and Point Dondra.

Small beach. But gorgeous. Best place to relax in week days. Galle harbor is in left side and open see from right side. Excellent place to visit if you in near to Galle fort.

A small but very safe and awesome beach. Only negative is that it has a lot of coral pieces and rock, so it hurts the foot. Water is shallow and good for kids, but it has somewhat tide coming in. Normally its crowded, so if you are looking for a long and calm beach, this is not it

Wonderful beach. Shaded with some trees. Good for a family picnic. Can have a bath on the shallow area. Allowed to bring food but please do not litter around. You will find garbage bins there itself and outside as well. There are sellers of "achcharu" (local pickle) and bubble blowers. No public washroom was found

Beach with no waves where Sri lankan go. Very small beach. Nice to see local people go here but not especially a place to stay

The water is blue and warm. It's the only beach in of the Galle Fort, but it isn't pretty good to swim since there are ton on rocks, sea shells, and dead coral reefs which can bite your feet. It's better you go to the beach not very far, Unawatuna beach.

This is a good beach to bring your kids. It is located in a very convenient place and it is a safe place. There is no public bathrooms to take a shower. If you park your vehicle in the public car park, you will be charged from 8.30am to 6.00 pm. The parking fee is little bit high.

The most unpleasant beach I came across in Sri Lanka. The beach is small, a lot of people, the shore with stones and a lot of garbage. It felt like you were sitting in a landfill. There was a lot of plastic, bags, etc. floating in the water. I didn't even want to swim. It’s good that we chose a place to live a little further from the Fort, in the Boossa area with a beautiful, clean, uncrowded beach.
