I first discovered Orchid House when I received jewellery as a gift and since then Orchid House has become my go-to jeweller for genuine gemstones and handcrafted jewellery in Sri Lanka. Very reasonable pricing, genuine stones and good workmanship. Thank you to the owner and team for the pieces of jewellery that I always get compliments for because of their unique designs and beautiful stones.

We've been coming to Galle for 6 years and there is always at least one stop at Orchid House, expanded recently in its orignal location and in the Dutch hospital. I've had custom cufflinks and jewelery made and purchased countless local gifts for friends and family. Great service from friendly and helpful staff that value repeat business over inflated tourist prices. Always a pleasure shopping there.

Great gift shop with high quality, locally-produced products for reasonable prices. Loved the note books/postcards, made of 🐘 dung-paper and the tooth sticks made out of cinnamon. And you get a nice paper bag (no plastic policy).

A well curated and designed souvenir shop. Ranging from spices, tea, handicrafts, wood carvings, metal work and jewellery. Shop has a relaxed feel and staff are helpful and not pushy.

There are an abundance of jewelry firms in Fort Galle, but nowhere could I find the crystals I needed in terms of size, cut quality and reasonable price. But I'm lucky! Near the lighthouse I went to the ORCHID HOUSE store. There, a professional manager immediately understands what is needed, clearly selects the stones - and EVERYTHING is there!!! I found excellent quality products and ordered three rings! They managed to make them in the shortest possible time and three days later they brought me directly to a hotel in another city! Excellent quality and true to size! With full responsibility and pleasure I can recommend ORCHID HOUSE! Great impressions about the company and the country with such people!

Good place to pick up souvenirs but wait and get your tea & spices in the supermarket.

I really liked this place, and their variety of souvenirs, spices, tea, beauty products, bags, even elephant dung paper :D I found the prices more reasonable than in other souvenir shops, but of course higher than at the supermarket (especially for spices and tea)

Orchid House offers some wonderful jewellery, Sri Lankan souvenirs (spices, tea, toys). I have gone back again and again because of their innovative designs, and some how even when just browsing I manage to spend more! They can also make and or fix jewellery (as can Laksana, next door and also excellent). They have recently opened two boutiques in the nearby Hospital (converted to shops and restaurants) so you are sure to find something you like!

Shop selling reasonably priced tea, some gems (can't comment on authenticity), herbs, spices and other souvenir type items. Staff member was really knowledgeable and honest about their teas and which he'd recommend depending on the type we normally like to drink.
