If you are foreign traveler never ask the about bus time tables from tuk-tuk/taxi drivers. They will not tell you true details about available buses and most probably cheat you. They make you have tuk-tuk service to where you go. There are several automated LCD screens displaying bus time tables inside ground flow of the main hall. Also you can ask time keepers, they will help you they stay 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day in small office cubicles located in ground flow main hall. After office time you can consult the police post located near south corner of the bus station. Both short distance and long distance running buses and also Highway buses to different places start here. To Colombo Airport you have to take highway bus to Kadawathe and then it is easy to take TAXI. Normally bus service are operated 04:00 AM to 10:30 PM. if you are going to Colombo in night, you can catch buses in front of Bus station (opposite side of beach) coming from Kataragama, normally around every 1 hour or 1.5 hour.

GALLE CENTRAL BUS STAND | Galle Central Bus Stand. This is the longest bus station in Sri Lanka. Long distance services also operate from this bus stand. The toilet system at the bus stand is good. Upstairs of the bus station there are many branches where you can buy what you need, including men's and women's restrooms, a Sathosa branch, a university bookstore, restaurants, telephone shops, barber shops. An inquiry window is also available here for you to get bus related information. There is also a police station on the ground floor. It is very sad that the second floor of the bus station has been closed for a long time. It is the best place to see the beautiful view of Galle city.

well organized bus station. This is the longest bus station in Sri Lanka. At the first floor you can see the Galle international cricket stadium and the Galle dutch fort . The bus stand has toilets, tourist information centers in the ground floor and book shops, restaurants and other shops in the first floor.

Rather crowded with busses not stopping at the right gate depending on where they are going. Just ask one of the drivers where the bus for “xxxx” goes. Bus to Unawatuna beach is the one to Matera. Cost 25Rs per person.

One of the longest bus stations in the country, it has 24 hour transits and adequate facilities to accommodate large no of buses. It is located in front of Galle International Cricket Stadium and famous Galle Dutch Fort.

Galle central bus station is the main point of galle. Srilanka... You can find all buses to go any destination. Like matare mirissa etc. To go mirissa you have to take matare bus. Mirissa is nice Attractive place in galle.. and the cost is only 60 srilankan shil.

For a public bus station not bad with helpful people. The slow government buses and small AC mini buses are here. But the highway bus to colombo is not here but next to the cricket stadium

Buses running from Galle to Maharagama, Negombo, Kaduwela and Kadawatha via the expressway park a little away from the Galle bus stand, almost in front of it. The fare from Galle to Kadawatha is 980.00 rupees.

The driver of the Galle-Airport bus is a gangster who tries to charge you for luggage when luggage is free of charge and his own colleagues tell him so. I guess this is just for tourists. What a bad image
