Because it's inside the fort, it's a great place to go for a walk or a run early in the morning while it's not too crowded. Good for a casual walk around the fort too. The host has some great suggestions about the places and beaches to visit nearby.

The host is lovely and gives everything to make your stay the best! If you have any questions, just ask him! He will help you! The dorm where I staid, has seaside view and a nice windy terrace (and the wind you need ;-) )

No proper lamps inside the room & bathroom. (Only reading lamp inside the room) Air Con is not allowed to use during the day (very disappointing). Short story, I travel from Thalpe to Galle with public train and arrived at hostel around 1PM. Weather is very hot and i’m sweating as hell. The landlord not allow me to use the aircon because it’s only used for sleeping time / 6PM-9AM. The next morning, I’m awake at 7AM because the room feel so hot, and yea. The air con is dead. THIS IS NOT HOSPITALITY AT ALL I’m a person who needs air con to sleep. So this is my bad experience to stay in dormitory hostel in Galle Fort.

😠 Returning in the evening, I did not find my things in the hostel. The next morning I found out that the cleaner for some reason took them and put them somewhere. They returned them to me after threats of calling the police and 3 hours of searching. And for some reason, there was no phone charger...

👍👍 The place is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood, some minutes walking from the city center, but it is worth the effort or just drive by bus or taxi. The room was clean, the bathroom is nice, with western toilet and a good shower. Fair price for travellers and an amazing hospitality. Residency...
