Plenty of gift items and souvenirs available for reasonable prices. Several options available as both religious and cultural statues and decorations can be found here. Can be a bit pricey compared to roadside shops. But that's what you get for premium quality. Very close to galle town. Will be a good visit even not buying anything as it is full of great handcrafts by local craftsmen.

We visited the store in Galle. Very helpful staff, reasonable pricing ( we compared the prices of masks ) and I also found some variety in batik clothes and fabric. Ample parking. Definitely a good place to shop for Srilankan artefacts and crafts. Handmade soaps, agarbathi, holders in wood, wooden and coconut artefacts, handmade paper notebooks, gems etc are some examples of items stocked.

Visited to buy some gifts for my cousin. The place is located very conveniently. Is quite famous among traveller's to buy souvenirs. The products they have are of high quality and stays little above the market price.

Great for Souvenir and gift shopping with an impressive collection: If you are in the historic city of Galle and need to shop for souvenirs and gifts without the hassle of private traders, this is the place. It is state owned, so everything has a set price and no one bugs you to buy anything. There are two floors packed with items. My wife and I shopped separately and we both got help with unmarked items whenever we needed. The folks here are happy to have your business unlike the one in Colombo. We even asked them for a few extra bags and they gladly obliged. In Colombo Laksala we got attitude and a 'no' when we did that. This store was remodeled and opened by the former Secretary Defence of Sri Lanka Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. After shopping here in comfort and having bought tons of items to fill our empty bags, we were glad that he did so. We stopped in here at the Gallery location to buy some overpriced gifts to ship home . The post office wouldn't let us ship them so we came back 20 minutes later to get a refund on some of the items. No, no ,no they told us. So we had all this useless stuff to carry around with us for the rest of our journey.
