What a hidden gem. Swerve the expensive restaurant on the beachfront and head here for a true taste of Sri Lanka. Fantastic location, incredibly friendly staff (including a very a cute toddler who spoke perfect English) and the best vegetable curry we had on our entire trip.

Lovely food for Sri Lanka standarts!!! The staff are so friendly and the place is in the forest! Our food was delicious and good prepared! I recommend it!

The place was very neat, well taken care of; the owners were very nice and attentive. The food was delicious, but comparing to a lot of other places - overpriced.

We came to this place based on the reviews. We were really disappointed by the quality of the food -see picture. Fish came directly from the freezer (to my surprise in the seaside of Sri Lanka), and was burnt and dry. I shared my opinion with the staff but they didn’t offer anything to compensate, even being obvious that I couldn’t eat.

The food was okay but pricing was not the best. The pricing was similar to what you see on the beach ... minus the beach. I would return only if the pricing was cheaper.

Tidy place with good menu. Even have take away option. Portions are smaller than other places but enough. Price are good no service charge on top of the prices. Cooking time around 15-25 minutes for fried rise. The fish takes a little bit longer. They had an ice even for a sprite. Good value for money. Run by lovely family.

We went for lunch. Grilled Tuna overcooked and didn’t seem fresh. Chopsuey overpriced for what it is. Juices were good, however also overpriced. Overall….we think they adopted prices from other restaurants which offers fresh fish and good food, however the food was not to those standards. These should be local restaurant, where the dishes should cost half of the price in the menu. At the moment not worth to comeback. Regards Alex

During our entire 10 day stay in this area, we ate at many places, high and low end. I wouldn’t consider myself a food critic, however I have travelled to 68 countries and eaten at everywhere from 3 Michelin Hat restaurants, food carts outside clubs in Asia to locals only markets where I felt like an alien. The point being, without sounding like a tool, I feel I’ve experienced enough to make a valid point. This place was our standout cheap meal. Food was authentic and tasty. Appears that the lady who cooks stays at home and only walks over when there are customers. There is a pool that we were welcome to use and was nice to swim in before dinner, good music from quality speakers, other than that, it’s very basic and you’re not here for anything other than a swim amongst the palm trees and your meal. Only had beer and only after asking but we brought our own Arrack and were welcomed to drink it. Staff were very friendly and seemed very much like a family business. It’s a short walk from the beach and main road where there are plenty of tuk tuks. In my view this is the best local restaurant in the Thalpe Galle area.

Lovely place right next to my accommodation. First night in Unawatuna and the food was more than I ordered and authentic. Great. Highly recommend

We called in here during our morning wandering around our new location and asked if they had red wine, were assured they did and were given a reasonable price. On arrival the same evening we were told that red wine was more expensive than the given price. Decided to stay but ordered white. However they clearly did not have this on the premises so it took 10 minutes before someone came running in with the wine. The chicken curry was OK, the devilled calimari chewy. Don't like being lied to so did not return.

Very delicious food and not expensive. Also not far away from the beach, owner is frendly and we could also use the pool. Even if we were the only guests (beginnein of October) 4 people immediately staterd cooking fresh food for us. Strongly recommended.

Many options at an affordable price. We had 2 fish& chips + 2 beers + extra medium fries + desert for 4200 rupees. I have to say that I didn't like the music that in my opinion they play to loudly.

Rice and curry very good. I had boiled vegetables. Also good but the serving was to small for the price (more expensive than rice and curry) Beside that it’s a very pleasant place

Nice simple restaurant tucked away in the jungle but easily accessible by motorbike or tuk tuk, if you stay in wijaya beach it's a good walk in the jungle, food is very good, recommended

Good little Bit away from the crowded galleroad, well maintained large swimming pool, plenty of space for parking, friendly staff, food is ok. Bad Day time its very hot under the building.
