I recently was holidaying in Galle Fort and suddenly had trouble with an upper molar. I read the review for Dr Malinda Ekanayake and asked my hotel to try to make an appointment. I was alone and am an 79 year old Australian woman. Dr Malinda saw me the next day and I had root canal therapy over two days which was almost painless. I am now back in Sydney and am so grateful to him for his swift attention and his kindness. I highly recommend him. He saved my tooth which I was sure would have to be extracted. I got a tooth crack in Colombo so first tried to solve the problem there in the Commercial Center Dental Clinic but the new filling just came out several hours later. It turned out to be a cheap temporal one although I paid much! The doctor here, in Galle, wholly and professionally repaired the tooth with a stable filling and now I’m happy (additionally since that was half the price in Colombo). The place looks strange as it’s at the filling (gas) station location but I got a tooth filling there in fact so it’s a filling station indeed 😅 I highly recommend the doctor!

Doctor Malinda just finished the second part of the treatment and I already recommended him to a few friends of mine. I doubt you can find a better dentist around. He was very patient to explain why my tooth hurt and what should be done to make the pain gone. Procedures were almost painless, quite fast and the price was very reasonable. I'll definitely come back to Doctor Malinda to take care of the rest of my teeth.

I was here to change a filling on my 6 and 7 tooth. Price will be approximately 16000rs for both if you dont ned root canal treatment.Docctor did his job much faster than doctor in my country. On a second day i started to feel pain in my 7th tooth, and i told about it to the doc via whatsapp. I told him that the filling is high and we need to make it lower. Doc said that it is called composite sensitive and usually heals within 2 weeks. Waited for 3 weeks, nothing changed, and i wrote him again. He told me that if i am in a hurry he can do a root canal treatment, or replace the filling to a temporary one and its up to me to decide. I insisted that the filling is high, cane to him and we made it lower, than all became good. Pros: work done, good english. Cons: proposal of solving a problem with a root canal treatment when we just needed to adjust a filling is not acceptable.

My 9 year old daughter had some dental treatment from Dr Malinda and she was pleased at the end. She was very scared before going to the dental unit with her experience in the past. However, she was very happy because the treatment was almost pain free. I highly recommend this place for kids as well since the doctor is child friendly.

I recently visited this dentist while abroad and had a great experience. The dentist was able to perform two tooth extractions and a bridge with skill and efficiency. Additionally, when I returned with a sensitive tooth, he sealed it perfectly. I appreciated his excellent communication skills in English, which made the whole process smoother. Overall, I am very happy with the service and would definitely recommend this dentist to others.

I had very severe pain in my molar tooth for which reason I visited Dr. Malinda in his practice. I called him and got an appointment for the same day. The practice and the equipment are of course not of the same standard as in Germany, but very good by Sri Lankan standards. Dr. Malinda performed a root canal treatment on me. Immediately after the treatment, all the pain was gone. He wrote a detailed report for my dentist and advised me to take photos of all the x-rays and medication for my dentist in Germany. Incidentally, medication from Germany was used. Very professional, I can only recommend the practice! Thanks again 🫶

Best place ever for the pain free surgeries.(Wisdom tooth extraction) I had a wrost type of Angularly impacted hard wisdom tooth in the jaw bone i was scared to get that tooth out but Dr Malinda who made my surgery did it really pain freely.I felt only a pressure upon the jaw and no any Pain. He did everything very fine.. Sucessfully done.He use anesthesia well for making the area numb. Futhermore he Answer the phone calls very quickly and also reply for the whatsapp messages thats easy to release our anixety of the surgery before the dates. Thank you.

I did a root canal treatment and crown placement at Dr Malinda's clinic. My friend referred me to him and I am very glad that I went to his place for an important treatment. He is very efficient and speedy and takes time to explain things until I am convinced. It has been 2 months since I placed the crown and I have no issue sofar. My wife suddenly started to have a toothache, she still had 6 more days to rest, we decided not to wait and immediately contacted the Tinkoff insurance company, they promptly contacted us and clarified the details, but the approval of the visit took a long time (Tinkoff insurance usually offers Asiri Hospital), we could not wait and In the morning we found it based on Dr. Malinda’s reviews, and went without an appointment for good luck. We were lucky, he was there and immediately agreed to receive us. He quickly diagnosed the cause of the pain, took an x-ray on the spot, it was necessary to remove the nerve, we agreed. He did everything quickly and efficiently, working with two assistants. The equipment is not super new, but we didn’t expect anything else from Sri Lanka. They paid 15,000 rupees for the removal of the nerve, anesthesia and photographs. The doctor wrote out a check, an extract for the outpatient card and a prescription for painkillers. In general, the problem was solved and we spent the rest of the holiday in comfort without thinking about the tooth. By the way, Tinkoff paid us the cost of treatment +10 USD for travel. Bottom line, I wouldn’t wish anyone to face a dental problem while on vacation, but if the need arises, Dr. MALINDA is a good option. He speaks English, gives receipts, and then asks about his wife’s well-being via WhatsApp.
