Overpriced, & poor quality. NOT RECOMMENDED - Bed linen dirty and no confortable. - Shower not cleaned ... with a bunch of hair the size of a fist. - Towel were so thin that you can see through.

I was walking to the train station with a heavy backpack when the owner of this house kindly asked where I was going and stopped to give me a ride to the train station and gave me a good recommendation at my next destination. People like him make Sri Lanka so lovely. I wish I stayed here when I was in unawatuna. But next time for sure.

Feelings cannot be expressed in photographs so I have no photos to post/support my gratitude. I have booked a budget room, since existing guests extended the stay they provided me a triple occupancy room. You can have breakfast in the garden overlooking monkeys (they never harm you or steal food from you) From the time we entered the place, it really felt like your own home. They offered us a full lesson on how to prepare a Srilankan rice and curry. The very special part of this session was the vegetable brought directly from their own garden. By the time we left the home, we were one among their family. They have shared everything with us - about their history, their family background, SriLankan customs, we even know the languages spoken by their grand kinds...we were much attached and felt really comfortable in staying in their house. They were so kind and accommodated all of our request (including driving 20kms for my own personal needs). Thanks a lot for everything you have made for us. It was really a Berg Home for us and I strongly recommend this place, in Unawatuna.

**PURELY ABOUT BICYCLE RENTAL** Did not stay here, so can not comment on accomodation My partner and I rented two bikes from Berg house for the whole day. 20 mins in, my bike broke while I was peddling normally, clearly a faulty bike. We had to lock the bikes for the rest of the day while we paid for tuk tuks around Unawatuna. When we arrived back at berg house that night to tell the owner, he asked me to go with a tuk tuk to retrieve the broken bike and ride the other one home. Despite it being dark and the bike having no lights or helmet, I agreed. Upon bringing both bikes back the owner not only disagreed to refund me part of our money for only having the bicycles for 30 mins (not a whole day like we paid) but asked ME to pay for the tuk tuk carrying the broken bike back... Extremely unreasonable, unprofessional and disrespectful Would never recommend this place purely because of this man.

So much fun there the morning is very calm, the atmosphere of nature, the singing of birds, reminds me like at home I really like sitting on the balcony

The hospitality that Nurmesh and his family have shown us is amazing. From the time we arrived, they've been so generous in terms of taking care of us, treating us like family cooking delicious authentic Sri Lankan food. I would highly recommend stopping in this homestay. Thank you guys! 😁

Great place and amazing people. Happy to talk with you about Sri Lankan culture and food. Went out of their way to obtain special cooking equipment to make us a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast at no extra charge. Lovely!

Good place to stay when in Unawatuna. Nice and very well family. Has great time talking to them and enjoying the home cooked meal here.

Every time we were hungry and lazy enough to cook on our villa, this pleasant family cooked for us delicious meals for not much money. Thank them for that)
