Totally overpriced. You pay 8 euros to see the first floor (a few nicely renovated, but rather empty rooms, and there was a photo exhibition). But apparently you have to buy an extra ticket to see the rest of the castle. Renovation works were still going on, so it all didn't look very appealing. Skip it.

Very nice castle! You can see the different populations that have passed in the city of Lecce, because there are the different simbols of each family engraved in many different places inside the castle! Different, I know :)

€8/person is way too much to pay for enter inside the first floor, only to see nothing inside; few pictures on the walls that is all. Feeling ripped off. For what they offer it should be a free access.

Went there 2pm on a Friday, we paid 8€ per person and were told that the museum is not included. Turns out for 8€ You can only visit some rooms and an art exhibition not related to the castle. Underground rooms we were told are either blocked because of construction or needed extra payment again to visit with a tour through prison + museum. No map of the castle at the entrance to better understand whats included in which tickets and upper floor mainly empty stone halls. We felt its not worth the time nor the money.

Despite many good reviews we read, we were not particularly impressed with the city and its offers. We had planned to spend two days in the city, but after one day we were above and beyond

Not as good as I expected. A large part of it is being renovated

Just did the paid tour of Castello, amphitheatre & arena (with Roberta as our guide), we found her tour enjoyable and good value. Having the opportunity to enter areas that the public cannot and hearing from our knowledgeable guide extra stories and historical information was great. Would recommend.

It was pleasant enough to walk about and the guide offered up some interesting facts. Surprised the the views from the top of the walls were a little overlooked and you couldn't see the panarama you may be expecting. The dungeons were fascinating and so very well preserved. Personally I'm not hugely into old buildings or castles and I'd say it's worth a visit! Plus, they have a very beautiful cat in the grounds... reason enough to check it out!

Looks an interesting place e but both times we went it was shut.On the far side there is a small daily textile market which varies in stall numbers an who almost on a daily basis but worth a look it you're there anyway.

Very interesting site from what I could see from the outside. One of the most famous tourist destination in Lecce I guess (?)

Very interesting site from what we could see of it, but the majority is off-limits unless you're participating in one of their tours, and the next English tour with availability was days away. Worth a free walk-through of the open areas, but wish we'd seen more.

Cannot give a review in that it was under renovation, but historic Lecce will not disappoint

Didn't go into areas where an entrance fee was payable. Some areas closed for ongoing restoration

Nice place to have a look but nothing exceptional.

Total waste of money. Empty rooms no access to upper tower, you have a ticket saying tower, but that is the ground floor. DO NOT GO

Nice large castle, currently being renovated. There are two tickets (8 € each) that allow entry to different parts of the castle, the first floor and a photo exhibition, or ground floor and a papier-maché musuem. Overpriced ticket for the visit in my opinion.

Small castle in the historic centre, can access the courtyard for free, but need a ticket to go inside and climb up. It was fine for a quick stop inside, there is some renovation work ongoing so unsure is actually open for visiting.

A major building in Lecce. It costs 8 eur per person. Inside was an art exhibition. The paper mache museum was closed but we were there when it was to be open. Overall, not a very good experience.

We did not go inside but from the outside, there was nothing that really interested us in wanting to go in. I hate to give a bad review but I think this place is just not as unique as others. However, the city of Lecce has so much history and so many beautiful architecture to view.

There are 2 different tickets for this fortress. The main one (8€) includes a photo exhibition and the first floor of the castle. But another ticket is required for the other areas of the building. You can’t have an holistic idea of this place if you don’t purchase both. Information is insufficient and the different rooms are poorly explained.
