During our holiday in Puglia I look for an aquarium where I can take my daughter who is passionate about the marine world and I discover the Salento aquarium. Beautiful experience especially for the guided tour where the biologist told us the names of all the living beings present in each tank accompanying the explanation with curiosity about the species and their behaviors. Engaging explanation and welcoming place. Recommended for spending an hour discovering some of the species that populate our seas.

This is a great project, absolutely go there! The staff is super nice and explains every single type of fish to you, from rather basic to very exotic ones. There is also a very vivid and funny octopus. It's not like going to a zoo or any aquarium - it is a chance to get to know the wildlife of the sea right around here! The fish get treated very well, the aquariums are super clean and after a while the fish are released back into the wild. Thank you very much for the tour, we will definetly come back!

Sono venuto con basse aspettative, non mi aspettavo l’acquario di Genova: proprio per questo credo di aver apprezzato il posto e lo spirito con cui viene gestito. L’acquario ospita le specie marine che popolano i nostri mari e li ospita “a tempo” in quanto i pesci vengono liberati dopo essere tenuti in cattività per il tempo necessario alle cure di cui eventualmente necessitano. La cosa che colpisce maggiormente, a parte la bellezza di cernie, murene, astici squali gattuccio stelle marine di tutti i tipi etc. è la passione con cui la guida fornisce le spiegazioni. La guida trasuda passione nel suo lavoro e contagia i visitatori che ascoltano e fanno domande sulle specie presenti in vasca. L’ho ascoltato ammirato per la padronanza degli argomenti e per la capacità di trasmettere emozioni e curiosità, esattamente come fanno i grandi divulgatori.

The aquarium hosts exclusively native species that can easily be found on the Salento coasts, animals that mostly arrive to be cared for and which in any case do not stay there for more than six months before being released back into the sea. So guests are continually reciprocated. Super positive experience and the children present were very intrigued and fascinated. We went there on a sunny, cold and windy winter morning and the sea just a stone's throw away with a splendid promenade with a spectacular cliff further enriched our visit. Piccolo gioiello scoperto grazie ad una giornata con clima incerto. Il sig. Giorgio, guida fantastica, ha tenuto vivo l'interesse dei bambini per tutto il tempo della visita con un linguaggio semplice, raccontando tanti aneddoti e curiosità. Vivamente consigliato!

Nur ein Stern, weil das Aquarium laut Internet zwar um 16.30 offen hat, aber wir standen von 16.20 -16.45 dort und kein Mensch hat aufgemacht. Anfahrt und Warterei umsonst 😞

Fantastic place, much more interesting than I thought! I'm not interested in sea animals at all, I just looked for a place to take kids to, but here we all had great time! We've learned a lot, seen a lot and the guide was great (in English, as we don't speak Italian to well). We recommend this place to everyone!

A bit small, the tour guide spoke only italian which was okay, Because most visitors were italian. At least write some info about the fish in english as well, in the end they showed a movie maybe make subtitles. But it was only 5 euro which was ok.
