St. Blaise Gate is one of three gates to Lecce's historical city centre. It was built in Baroque style over pre-existing medieval gate. Because of the rich Baroque architectural monuments found in the city, Lecce is commonly nicknamed "The Florence of the South". Lecce is perfectly well connected with Rome, and it takes 5 hours direct drive by the "Frecciargento" train.

Gateway to all of Lecce, Puglia, Salento then Bari plus The Trulli Houses. Beautiful place and lovely people. Very welcoming and friendly too.

Another must-visit place in Lecce! This gate was built with Baroque style and stone cravings. Stand across from Piazza d'Italia, one of three gates leading to the Centro Storico (cultural center) district of Lecce.

I hadd been told Lecce is the Florence of the south, but I did not expect the quality of the art and the grandiose churches. Certainly rivals anywhere else in Italy

One of the many beautiful examples of the old city stunning architecture, this place is a jewel in the crown for the Pulia region and is becoming a pupolar tourist destination. I was amazed by the amount and variety of balconies. The City of Balconies, you have to go and see for yourself. Wonderful and such a vibrant colourful atmosphere.

Very ornate and historic gate, one of the three remaining entrances to the quaint old city of Lecce.
