Highly recommend this wonderful museum delineating two periods of Jewish history in Lecce. Included with the entrance fee, you are given a thorough tour explaining the historical significance of the building as well as the two periods of history. The English tour is very well done. There are many artifacts which were given to the museum by Jewish families that passed through Salento after WWII, which add authenticity and emotion to this museum. This museum is a must see during your visit to Lecce.

This museum is an amazing place, full of Jewish history. We did the 1 hour tour, the guide Marta was incredible, and we learned a lot. Definitely we want to come back, and we recommend people come to this place to learn about the forgotten Jewish history in the south of Italy!

It's OK, light on artifacts. Plays off holocaust tragedy a bit too much as compared to the historical Jewish quarters within the city.

The team behind the museum are amazing people. Pay a visit to Michelangelo the guy in the tourist office next to the museum as he is one of the founders of this museum. His team are lovely. My friend and I were visiting Lecce today during Covid where there are no tourists and they welcomed us and gave us a lovely tour. You can see it on youtube on my channel Faithfultoself

Wonderful museum of medieval Jewish community of Lecce. Take the tour with Mirabel, a wonderful guide in English. Thank you to the Khalili family who made this museum posible. And to Michelangelo who asked himself 3 years ago, ‘why is this street called the vía di sinogogo?’

Nice people! The best experience if you don't know anything about jewish culture and religion. At my taste not much left except bits about old times. Still worse to visit!

I did not expect to learn so much here. The friendly guides offer tours in several languages. There is not much to see but what they do have is truly unique and the stories and research they share are abundant. I wish They had a book available of all the information I learned here. The museum shoes plans for future exhibits and I would gladly return. They also have a unique gift shop with an array of beautiful keepsakes as well as wine and other shelf stable food items. They day I went there was an artist working on site. Highly recommend!

Museum dedicated to the Jewish life in Lecce during the Medieval ages. The price of 5€ (4€ reduced) included an informative half-hour tour. Remains of structures of the former synagogue and mikveh can also be seen inside. At the time of my visit, there was also a temporary exhibition of an American artist. As of 2017, the museum is still very new and there are many plans for extensions.

A glimpse into Lecce's Jewish past with exhibits passionately collected by the museum's curators. Fantastic building with multiple architectural layers of different times, the museum rewards those who decide to pay for a ticket.

Truly worth a visit, a small museum and brief tour will give you a great understanding of Jewish presence in Lecce several centuries ago as well as the beautiful post WWII relationship between this region in Italy and survivors of the Holocaust.

A fascinating museum with a great guide. It was incredibly interesting finding out about a little known piece of history. It nicely ties together the wider story of European Jews.
