This place was recommended to us by a local at a nearby store. They served one of the best pork pancetta pitas we have ever had. So delicious!! The ambiance is a typical greek street food vendor. Very charming and welcoming.

This was a great experience redefining what fast food can and should be. Everything felt fresh, tasty and well (for me, anyway) portioned. The prices are more than reasonable, especially when the portion sizes are taken into account. Left with a massive smile on our faces! :)

Please update your opening / closure times.. I am going there since many years. One of the best pitas in Rethymno.

We have been coming back since 2017. Perfect food, very friendly stuff, casual atmosphere. Very good value for money. Great for lunch or quick dinner. Spotless 👌🌞

Absolutely fabulous food. The chicken in pita (gyro) was the best that we have had since we arrived in Crete 6 days ago. Sorry that we are leaving Rethymno tomorrow or I would have had it tomorrow as well! Topped off with a fresh, juicy Greek salad and a Mythos beer

Waited an age to be seated, asked for a particular table to be told it was for 4 persons only (just two of us), sat at another table and tried to order some wine, told it wasn’t available would have to go for the more expensive option, next two customers (young greek couple) given the table we asked to for. Poor customer service all round, didn’t bother eating or drinking anything, lost two customers.

It is also a favorite of the locals. Nice waiters. Very tasty food and quite a large portion. Very favorable price!!!!!

Great place with amazing food. Pork pancetta was delicious and the portion of 2 pieces was enough to feed an adult. The pork chops were nice as well. The Greek salad was great. Overall this is one of the best meat spots I have been to in Crete and the price/quality ratio was great. Note that contrary to many tavernas they do not bring you any complements like raki and dessert. The place is very well decorated inside and they have nice crockery

If you like meat and big portions come here for sure! Excellent value for money and extremely tasty food. Highly recommend

This bbq restaurant serves up fresh grilled meats sonw to perfection, flavourful, and juicy. Locals suggested this out of the qay place and much to my pleasure. We enjoyed the chicken souvlaki sticks, chicken in a pita, stuffed fried potatoes, and a greek salad. Great place for lunch, dinner, or a late night snack. The staff is really friendly and they also deliver!

It was the best food we had during our whole stay! We ate at several restaurants during our 10days stay but Bar BQ was by far the best! We can honestly recommend them and We are definitely looking forward to go again next time we visit Rethymno! 💯🇬🇷

Gyros was nice, but service was very slow and they brought wrong order twice. Recommend only for a cheap quiet place and if you stay somewhere nearby. There are plenty of other restaurants on the main street with many more options (seafood, vegetarian, etc) than this.

Just next to the castle, excellent service and fantastic grilled food. We ate there twice during our stay in Rethymno.

Very good souvlakis and mixed grill. Pita bread possibly the best in Rethymno. Big portions and good value for money. Nice lively atmosphere.

Very tasty food and excellent service. Inexpensive and really fresh food. A salad (super large and tasty) and a mixed grill is more than enough for two. The pita bread is super good too. Do not miss it! We went twice!

So yummy and fresh! I had the Arabian pita with chicken and tzatziki (by suggestion of the very kind and helpful server). The potatoes were so good! It was delicious and very affordable! Definitely recommend.

What a find....we found this restaurant on the 3rd day of our holiday. We went back three more times. Probably the best meat we had in Crete. Incredible value for money. We had all the food you could eat plus wine, beers and soft drinks for 8 people. Total bill was 123 euros...incredible. The previous night we paid over 300 Euros for a meal nowhere near the same quality and service as Bar B.Q. The kids loved it. We will be eating here again.

Skewers could be grilled slightly shorter but overall delicious food and good portion of side salad. Also very tasty fried potato slices.

We loved the place and went there twice during our stay in Rethymno. Best pita bread with chicken skewers, french fries, tomato, salad, onion, tzatziki! Fair price. Lovely owners. I fully recommend Bar BQ!
