I usually go to Hammonton when we're in the mood for Mexican, but being local, we decided to try La Mesa... The food was okay but, in my opinion, a little pricey. The atmosphere is nice and the staff was friendly.. the wife and I were both starving when we arrived and were surprised when we were not offered any chips or salsa while waiting for our meals. Overall, it's not a bad place ,but I'll stick to Marachi Loco whenever I get the hankering for Mexican food

Vacationing in the area and we saw a number of 5 star reviews so we checked it out. Well worth the visit and a definite recommendation. A nice bar area welcomes anyone looking for a drink and the dining area is large and spacious while still maintaining a cozy feel. Big fan of the tagging style art mixed with the calaveras. The food was beyond delicious. We started with chips and guacamole, the chips had a seasoning that my wife found salty but the flavor mixed so well with the guac that she was fine. For the entree, my wife had chicken enchilada smothered in a rich queso and sour cream sauce. So good that I stole from her plate 🀣. I had a very sizable carne asada chimichanga that came with a side of french fries. The red hot sauce has a smokey taste and well complimented everything.

I love this place. Food is always good here. Portions are big, and the quality of food is amazing. My favorite things on the menu are tortilla soup and nachos. I recommend trying this place. You won't be disappointed.

Met up with my husband after work. We were seated in the restaurant, but the waitress said we would get happy hour prices if we sat in the bar area. We sat at a high top round table that was too high for me to sit in the seat, and the seat was too small. The waitress was slow in coming over, when she did, I asked her about the happy hour specials, and I asked her if the pomegranate margarita was a special price and she said sure you can get that, we ordered wings off the appetizer menu and we got 4 wings for seven dollars. That’s not such a happy hour price. I got the chicken fajita for dinner and it didn’t come with any salsa or sour cream. It was very dry and flavorless. I asked for sour cream and salsa and was up charged four dollars. My husband and I were shocked when we got the bill, both of our drinks tasted like they had no alcohol, and surprisingly my margarita was $14. I almost freaked out what a rip off especially when I asked the waitress if it was part of the happy hour special. To summit up the food was not great. The service was slow and the drinks were way too expensive and lacked alcohol. We will not be returning.

Fajitas had no seasoning. See pic looks like it was boiled. Chicken did not have much flavor either. Black bean side was the consistency of soup.

Drinks are amazing. Servers are great. They were out of 1 type of soup when I want that I wanted to try. Place looks awesome. Food is ok. The food taste is a Gourmet Style of Spanish food. So for me it did not have a lot of flavors. The Steak was Great though just not the Empanadas. Must try Tres Leches, I would recommend
