We just visited for food. Food was absolutely horrific!! The full Irish breakfast tasted like it was wrapped in plastic and microwaved. The smell of plastic from the plate was overpowering. Food was practically inedible!! Had to ask for the toast when it hadn't arrived 15 minutes later. Got given the cold toast that was made earlier but they had forgotten to bring down.. The waiting staff seemed very uninterested in being helpful. So disappointing.

We stayed here for two nights during the Galway races weekend. The place gets packed every night and has live music most of not all nights. The food is very good here. I love the breakfast here and had the Irish pizza one evening for dinner and love it! The rooms are comfortable and clean here but be warned it is above a pub with music and on the Eyre square here in Galway. I have no problem enjoying the fun and sleeping here but know where you are staying! The staff are Al friendly and helpful here but be patient when they are busy they work hard and deserve your patience!

Was enjoying lunch and a pint on my own, tucked into a corner, about an hour later people , one by one, were sitting near me at the high bar. Not a problem. Then, I was then told by one of the group, who was waving a reserved sign. This was, in fact, a work meeting, and i needed to leave. There was no sign when i sat down at 17:56 , i was engrossed in my book. One of the staff(of the pub) should have told me they were going to reserve it when they were placing the sign ! So, €30 plus euro later (food and pints), i leave, embarrassed. I told the barmaid what had happened, her reply was enough to make me write this review. This was about 10mins ago, so any females in the area, this bar is not for you.

Can't review rooms as unfortunately we didn't stay here (next time we will!). Fabulous bar, comfortable, great atmosphere and excellent staff (especially Jacques)who are so friendly and the owner is just lovely and knows how to look after his customers. A local pub vibe right in the city centre. Can't wait to come back!

I visited here a few times during my stay in Galway. I got their Caesar salad, burger, and stew. All were excellent, but I have to say the burger stands out! The spices, texture, and size were well worth the price. Speaking of price, everything was reasonable. The staff are super welcoming and friendly. I chatted with a few of them for a while. Really enjoyed my time at the bar.

Looked all over town for traditional Irish music...and nothing. We almost gave up. No one mentioned this place. Plenty of space, and actual traditional Irish music. Though they should open open the "staff service only area".

Loved this bar. Great old looking atmosphere, and good music sessions if you catch one. The staff is very nice too.

Avoid if you want to experience hospitality. Lovely interior, reminds me of an old school bank vibe. But the staff were so rude. A young girl with glasses kept rolling her eyes and was outwardly irrated in how she spoke and her facial expressions. Another staff member was annoyed we sat in the restaurant - there was simply a sign to say wait to be seated, nothing to designated it was a restaurant, nor were the tables set so that was obvious. We straight away apologised and said we didn't realise, and we'd happily order food. It's like they were mad with us for not understanding the rules - they work there, not us, how were we meant to know that? Another female staff member came up to my table and told me I was being too loud and she felt disturbing others - loudly in front of my group. All I was doing was talking and laughing with a friend sitting right beside me, as I drank my one and only beer. It was humiliating and shocking to be treated like that. We were a group, so I'm guessing that's what they didn't like but they happily took our money, As they treated us so rudely. I guess with such a transitional clientèle they don't feel any need to treat their customers well. I've been to galway many times, including living there, but had never been to this pub before and never will again. Avoid, and walk around the corner and the 100 metres up to O'Connells for just a nice an interior & cocktails, better ambiance and friendly staff.

Nice place for fee drink. Don't eat here. Food not good. Got wings. Clearly microwaved. And bad quality fatty chicken. All the food at our table was bad. So eat before you come.

Great place! Good food, good service. We had a challenging group, lots of questions, and changing or adding to our orders. The waitress was very patient with us and, in the end, got everything done. Left her a nice tip.

Food was excellent - we had Guinness stew, seafood chowder, and smoked salmon with prawns. Brown bread was nice thick slices, a little dry but perfect with a generous slather of butter. Portion sizes were very large. 5 stars for the food. The staff were a little gruff, not at all friendly. We were hoping for some live music - apparently there is music every night - I’m not sure if there’s a posted schedule somewhere, but tonight it wasn’t on until 9:30pm and that was too late for us after a long and wet day.

Stopped in for a quick bite and some drinks while we waited on the train. Reasonable prices on whiskey, and. The rosette was both incredible and a larger portion than I'd ever expect for the price.

Amazing location and price. The room was basic and a bit small, this is the trade off. Still would stay here again for sure. Live music at the bar downstairs.

Stayed in the area for a family wedding and decided to drop in here for a light lunch. The interior is nice, and it has a traditional pub setting. We had a light lunch from a quite varied menu. Service was quick and efficient and overall reasonably priced. They did make a mistake on our order, but the important factor is how they dealt with it and it was also quick and efficient. Mistakes happen and you judge on what they did to fix it and I can't fault their response. So highly recommended. The club sandwich was amazing.

I went here for a quick pint and enjoy a bit of live music. Good selection of pints and the music was good. Good atmosphere. The pub was a bit too full but it was Galway race week and outside was raining. I spent a good hour

My group and i have traveled all over Ireland and i wasnt sure if it was just the places we were picking but we just couldnt find a place that sold a really good seafood chowder. We happened on this place on accident trying to find last minute food. This place had the best chowder in Ireland! Friendly staff and delicious food! Will definitly be coming back when in town.

Good spot for lunch! The sirloin is favourful, and the fries are excellent! Clean and stylish interior and friendly staff! Would recommend if you're looking for a quieter pub in Galway!

Perfect Pub downstairs- with a beergarden for smokers on the back. Live music & lots of People. The hotel has rooms upstairs- with sheets and towels included. When you walk out the door you just cross the road to get to Eyre sqaure- best location!

Very nice Irish Pub across from the Train station. Service was great, and the food and drinks were as well. It's definitely a place to come back to when I come back to Ireland.
