Eyre Square is colorful and lively with its music, shops, and rambunctious people. And the flavorful scents of the foods around you will have your mouth watering with your every step. The real beauty of all is the glowing smiles of plenty that surround you when there.

Eyre Square Christmas Market is super busy but lovely at night with all the lights. However, there’s not much actual Christmas-themed stuff, which is disappointing. Also, €7 for a chimney cake is outrageous!

Great historical place from the founding of Galway with statue of the father of Gaelic literature, memory plaque of John F Kennedy visit/ return and the family crests of the 14 clans of Galway. But wait, there’s more.., near all the shops and commerce Galway can offer. A must to stop here. Grab a walking tour if you can. Very fun and enlightening. Cheers!

I would like to rate this higher. But I can’t.. the toilets are severely run down and not clean. Would suggest the Bus depot toilet if you’re in need right away. A stronger police presence is needed here at night. The holiday market looks quite nice, but bogged down by..well less than favorable locals who wish to poison this area. With some upkeep, it could be quite the central attraction. And I think it used to be. But as always the powers that be sit there on their thrones waving their arms up an down hoping for the best. I really do love Galway. It’s charming and cozy. Has some lovely views and walkable. But aspects of it aren’t the greatest. Some folks are friendly. Others are, erm. Yeah. You get me if you visit or are a local. I’ll always visit though, until I can’t.

We have come specifically for the Christmas market. This was our first visit. The place is stunning and very wall organized with a lot to see. Whit something for everyone. But let's not forget Galway is a gorgeous looking city 😍

Beautiful Eyre square has always had a place in my heart. It's where the 14 merchant clans came to market. It now is a vibrant space that still holds the centre of Galway together. It has changed, and from my childhood memories of it being a square of grass to now incorporating concrete and outdoor furniture. The sounding area is fairly commercial, but the people that you meet there are still the inquisitive and friendly Galwegians I remember from my youth. Well worth a visit, and it is the Capital of the West, most definitely.

The Christmas market is lovely this year they have made a brilliant effort with the lights. Each area of the park has a different theme. The giant gingerbread house was magical. Great for kids. Great atmosphere.

We walked around here while waiting for our bus tour. It felt safe. We were here in February, and the weather was cold but sunny. There were tons of people with suitcases going through the park. There were also locals with children playing. Lots of birds.

After taking a bus tour from the Dublin to the Cliffs of Mohers, we went Galway. This was our first stop and it was such a nice place to grab a seat and take in scenery. We stopped back and grabbed a seat to drink hot chocolate before getting in the bus.

Eyre Square is a lively city center in the middle of Galway, Ireland. It is set on the water on a river peninsula and has lovely views of the ocean and the river Corrin emptying into it. There are many bustling restaurants, shops and businesses and lots of locals and tourist about. Buskers sing and strum, boats bob along in the quay and hordes of lovely swans nap and lounge in the water. Pubs are galore there and it is a very colourful and busy spot, but there are many tranquil place to sit and enjoy the water as well. A very quaint Irish town. This is where the Ed Sheeran’s song, ‘Galway Girl’ is about.

Great park to stay for a moment and eat something. Near everything you would need in Galway. When sunny this park is better obviously

Nice public square at Eyre Square. Unfortunately could not fully appreciate the space as they were setting up a festival celebrating Irish Arts for after our departure. Certainly guessing that it's very nice when open fully to the public.
