The location is perfect for visiting the shopping district. The parking garage is a bit strange as they have a small space below the building and you often have to leave your vehicle double parked and have them juggle the cars around to get yours out. This was the only thing we were a bit uncomfortable with but the stay was nice and the service was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located just off eyre square so the location is perfect and no need for a taxi to explore the city . The hotel has an underground carpark which is a convenient . Stayed for one night with a friend and we were both extremely pleased with the accommodation. Comfortable beds ,spotless throughout and some treats were available if needed. I will definitely be back when visiting Galway city . The lady in reception was extremely friendly and welcoming . Booked over the phone last minute and she was very informative. I can’t remember her name but she had an American accent. If the GM is reading this review you should commend this member of staff on the great work they are doing . Prices are very reasonable and excellent value for money. I can’t comment on the food as I opted for a room without breakfast .

They were so friendly and thoughtful from the start. The room we booked was right off of the street where construction was happening. They called and asked if we wanted to move to a much bigger room complimentary, so we wouldn’t get woken by the loud noise early in the morning! The room was spacious, clean, quiet and they have free parking! The only thing I could say is the breakfast was underwhelming. It was easy to have that before departing but wasn’t great. The waffle was so sweet it tasted like cake batter, coated in sugar, and covered in sugary whip.

Hotel room was clean, but modest. Coffee in room. Restaurant and bar at hotel were very good. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Location of hotel is convenient to Eyre Square. Great spot!

Decent hotel, however could use some upgrades, more usb charging ports, safe in the room, bathrooms upgrades like hooks on walls and a wider tub. Great location, wonderful staff, clean and well kept throughout.

It's OK. Wasn't overly impressed with car park . No space I paid enough for 2 rooms and no breakfast included . For 5 people 14 euro each is a rip off Location is good

Quality is mid-level. Location is great. Staff were friendly but I could only get warm water from the shower and the room could have been a little warmer, extra blankets?

Just returned from three nights in room 322. The hotels does everything well with, in our experience, no issues. What really makes this a special place is the quality of the staff, so friendly and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is well located for all the obvious attractions that Galway has to offer. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Parking is a problem. The hotels parking is valet only which means that you have to leave your keys at the front desk so other people can double park. The size of the car park is tiny with cars jam packed in. The hotel refused to comment on what would happen in the case of damage to the vehicle or theft whilst in the hands of the porter. The receptionist was rude and offered no other solution so we decided to park the car elsewhere. The porters only work from 7-9 heaven forbid an emergency in the night you would not have access to your car immediately. If we had known this beforehand we would have not booked. The hotel is overpriced and rooms are simply just okay. The location is their only positive. There are cheaper hotels with actually accessible parking lots near by.

This is a lovely hotel situated in a great location near Galway City Centre. I stayed here recently on a 4 day trip to Galway on floor 1. Pros: Very close to the bus and train stations, barely a 5 minute walk but it was slightly uphill, so keep that in mind if you have heavy luggage. Friendly and helpful staff, they also accommodated an early check in on short notice. Very clean, mostly renovated rooms (no worn bedding or towels with holes). Restaurant hours start early, very useful when outside restaurants or cafes may not open before 8 or 9am. Cons: Thin walls, I did hear my fellow guests through the walls regularly. No mini fridge (this isn't necessarily the norm but worth noting). Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would stay again on future trips to Galway.

Lovely big room, great shower and a perfect view. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. LOR coffees and machine was a nice touch.

The hotel rooms were fine and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is also limited free parking underground which was a nice perk. Just note that the elevator is tiny so if you are there with more than 2 people, plan for multiple trips :). Great location too--all in walking distance of the Latin Quarter. Bar and Restaurant were quite nice with goo food/drinks and service. Overall, the value was good.

Well appointed room. Very clean and newly decorated ensuite. I'd question the positioning of the toilet especially for a tall person. We had a lovely lunch. Great food and generally within the price range I'd expect for similar. Centrally located. Hotel comes with valet parking which is great. Reception and rooms accessible from the basement car park.

Staff were lovely and it was in a great location but the room did not feel clean at all. The cushions, chair and throw on the bed were stained and it made me feel a bit icky. 200 euro for one night mid-week seems very expensive for what it is.

Nice hotel, please note the hotel has been in existence for a long number of years, therefore please don't expect a modern hotel. Reception area is very small but adequate. There are a lot of doors and little corridors with steps to go through on your way to your bedroom. Room was lovely. Very quiet hotel. Great breakfast and staff were excellent. A central location. I would stay here again.

What a find! Stopped by here last week for food and a drink and I am kicking myself I haven't been here sooner. The food was beautiful and they have a great selection of wines. The manager on duty was flying around the place but took time to make sure everyone was happy and really gave the personal touch. I didn't get her name but she had red hair. Great service and I'll definitely be back.

Great location, staff were so accommodating & friendly, really clean bedrooms, would happily come again & the decor is really nice, hadn't been to this hotel in 14 years & they've done it up lovely

Nice, quiet, comfortable and convenient. No place to pull off to check in so pass the hotel, take the first left and temporarily park in the 2 hr spots and walk back to check in. The hotel's underground lot is the next first left past the 2 hr parking. Just a few walkable blocks to all the old town bars and restaurants.

This evaluation will cover only the restaurant, that was the service/place I used. Very good, very comfortable and no issues with the service. We arrived before the restaurant be opened so we spent some time in the bar what was a good experience as weel. The menu has good options. Good location close to the Town and possibility to use the hotel parking. I recommend this restaurant.

The Western Hotel looks old from the outside, but the rooms were clean and some have already been refurbished and their hotel wifi held up as well. Their Irish breakfast was also the best I’ve had in a hotel. Not too fatty or salty and just the right amount to start your day off well fed. Can recommend a stay here, especially for couples, solo travelers and business travelers. The location is great to explore the city from on foot and the staff were all lovely and helpful.

We stayed here for just 1 night. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good. They had Trad Music on in the bar at night and the pint of Guinness was good. The location is great, just off Eyre Square. I would certainly recommend it for a short stay.

Fantastic hotel with the friendliest staff! Perfect location, and a wonderful bar and restaurant. The Lamb Shank was fantastic. The room and bathroom was very clean, with everything you need, including soft towels. Lovely breakfast. We brought a European plug to charge our phones, but it didn't fit. The hotel kindly provided us with a plug, even though it was late at night.

The location of the hotel is excellent and all personal was very friendly and helpful at any time. The idea of obtaining the old character of the building inside it’s walls is generally good but not so well executed. In some ways it seemed modern and state of the art, otherwise some things like the bathroom seemed outdated. Also the walls were very sensitive, every footstep on the hallway were unmistakably loud. All in all a great stay!

Nice hotel. Been living in Galway for a while but never knew this place. Dated but old school style. Room is small but very clean. Staff professional. Parking is behind the hotel and it’s tight

Great apartment accommodation just off Eyre Square. Spacious 2 Bed Apartment spotlessly clean. Fantastic location. Comfy beds.

Went in at 7.30 got main course at 10. I never got mine. Only half drinks orders were given. They seem to be paying more notice to the people down in the restaurant part at the back. Children waiting all that time for there food.

This should not be a 3 star hotel.. I stayed in a different 3 star hotel the next night and it was a million times better... When we arrived we were ‘upgraded’ to an apartment... there were random people loitering outside the apartment m.. making noise until 3 o clock at night.. the shower did not work properly.. hot and cold.. the car park is crazy... they were not sanitising or cleaning anything whatsoever. I don’t know how it has 3 stars. Don’t expect much if you stay.

Came here with my partner for our anniversary, staff exceeded my expectations, I had asked for a small note to be left in the room as a sweet gesture and they went all out! They had left a card with my message and a plate of desserts for us! Made the trip so special and those small things go a long way. Thanks to everyone at The Western for being so accommodating and thoughtful, will definitely be staying again!
