I
really
try
not
to
write
bad
reviews
for
places
but
even
after
sitting
on
this
for
a
month,
I'm
still
thinking
about
my
experience
at
Woodquay
so
I
think
this
is
justified.
We
stayed
for
three
nights
in
a
private
room
and
this
was
my
experience.
The
good:
1)
Staff
were
very
kind.
2)
The
private
room
has
an
ensuite.
It
also
included
towels
so
we
didn't
need
to
rent
them.
3)
We
were
provided
with
shampoo/shower
gel,
as
well
as
earplugs
in
the
room...which
was
a
sign
of
the
bad
things
to
come.
4)
There
is
free
breakfast
but
it's
first
come
first
serve
so
there's
no
guarantee
you'll
get
anything.
The
bad:
1)
There
is
no
safe
in
the
private
room
to
lock
anything
valuable.
2)
The
outlets
were
obscured
by
furniture
making
it
difficult
to
charge
our
devices.
The
room
in
general
was
poorly
designed
and
considering
it
was
so
small,
space
was
not
really
utilized
well.
There
was
a
shelf
but
in
order
to
put
things
on
it,
you
had
to
move
useless
decor.
Some
hooks
on
the
walls
would've
gone
a
long
way,
as
would've
a
chair.
4)
The
toilet
seat
was
attached
crookedly
so
it
was
very
easy
to
almost
fall
into
the
toilet.
5)
The
room
was
a
bit
cold
but
they
did
provide
enough
blankets
and
comforters.
6)
The
walls
were
quite
thin
so
you
could
hear
the
room
next
door
very
clearly.
The
ugly:
1)
The
noise
-
Our
room
was
right
off
the
kitchen
and
had
clearly
been
converted
into
a
new
bedroom
from
what
was
probably
a
common
area
or
a
storage
room.
As
a
result,
there
was
a
multitude
of
loud
sustained
noises
that
occurred
regularly
but
sporadically,
probably
as
a
result
of
appliances
such
as
water
pumps.
It
was
so
loud
that
I
tried
four
different
varieties
of
ear-plugs
and
nothing
helped.
The
noises
also
ranged
from
quite
high-pitched
to
low,
almost
like
a
vacuum/hoover-like
sound.
I
recognize
that
in
a
hostel,
some
noise
is
part
of
the
experience,
largely
due
to
your
fellow
guests,
but
this
was
terrible
and
not
able
to
be
mitigated
at
all
by
earplugs
or
a
white
noise
machine.
We
did
bring
this
up
to
staff
and
were
told
that
it
might
be
the
washer
that
guests
could
use,
but
other
than
that,
they
did
nothing.
The
noise
did
wind
down
a
bit
at
night,
but
was
still
loud
and
frustrating.
I
had
a
headache
for
a
good
chunk
of
my
time
there
as
a
result
of
it.
I
will
try
to
attach
a
video
to
my
review
where
you
can
hear
how
loud
and
annoying
it
was.

2)
The
damp
-
Again,
this
room
was
clearly
not
meant
for
residential
use.
It
felt
damp
and
moist
the
entire
time
we
were
there.
Our
towels
barely
dried
from
our
shower
and
we
woke
up
each
morning
to
find
the
wall
on
the
outside
of
the
room
to
be
wet,
like
actively
damp.
3)
Wet
paint
-
The
door
to
the
ensuite
had
wet
paint
on
it
when
we
arrived.
There
was
no
sign
nor
any
warning
from
the
staff
about
this.
We
discovered
this
only
when
we
used
the
bathroom
and
almost
got
paint
on
our
clothes.
Overall,
the
cost
of
what
I
paid
compared
to
our
experience
was
terrible.
We
paid
about
the
same
for
a
better
hotel
elsewhere
and
had
a
lovely
experience
with
a
private
room
and
many
more
amenities.
Based
on
this,
I
wouldn't
recommend
Woodquay
Hostel,
at
least
for
their
private
rooms,
even
if
it's
the
cheapest
option.
