From arrival to departure, my boyfriend and I were met by nothing but disappointment. Upon arrival, we tried checking in, convinced we paid for the room, only to be told that the money that was paid was only for confirmation and had to pay extra for booking. Dining services were slow, and the room lacked air conditioning. I would not recommend a long stay.

We stayed for 4 nights in Jan. Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Great central location. Was really handy to get the free car parking, but it was difficult to understand how to use the different passes in and out. Would definitely stay again for the price and location.

Lovely Budget Hotel, very well located. Great value for money with B&B, 2 course dinner & complimentary drink with dinner. Wait staff all very pleasant. The public areas, lobby, Bar/Restaurant weren't well heated however, 4th Dec and weather was cold but the hotel hadn't adjusted heating to compensate. Eating dinner in our coats was awkward. I would definitely rebook because otherwise we were impressed but I would hope it won't be cold again next time

Stains on bedroom carpet, walls were grubby, fan in bathroom not work and mould over bath. Good amount of sockets in bedroom. Housekeeping not empty bin in room. Breakfast if you chose continental good but cooked was disaster. Coffee was lukewarm, scrambled eggs were lukewarm, limp looking and a load of pepper sprinkled on them. The hash browns looked to be bits of left over cooked potatoes. Toast was only barely toasted but to be fair was toasted better when we asked On two occasions my friend asked for brown bread toast but was served brown and white mixed bread . Excellent standard of hygiene in Breakfast area. Tables were spotless and staff cleaned them thoroughly after each use. Cutlery, glasses and napkins were spotless too. Hotel location is excellent. Right in center of city. If they freshened up the rooms and improve food it would be great place. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Overall this hotel was fine. We did not encounter any real issues. The beds are not comfortable (that's just my preference) and the sheets smelled bad (presumably of a cleaning agent). You can hear people in other rooms and in the hallway, but it wasn't a problem. The best thing about this place is the location and the beautiful restaurant to have breakfast in. Friendly staff too.

We stayed here as part of a relatively large group a few weekends ago and were blown away by how friendly and welcoming the staff were. They could not have been more accommodating. Location is great - right beside the bus/train stations and a couple of minutes walk to Shop Street. It is located right across the road from a pub that plays live music so that may bother some people but it wasn't an issue for our group. Honestly, would highly recommend Eyre Square as a place for those looking to explore Galway.

This place was a massive let down. I chose this hotel over cheaper ones because it looked good online and it was awful. There was people's spit and on the stairs, there was no hot water, the tiles was falling off the walls in the bathroom and the electric sockets were loose and dangerous and they over charged us for breakfast. The whole hotel was filthy too.

The location is great. Itā€™s a Best Western brand hotel and is very dated. The rooms donā€™t have air conditioning so you need to keep the windows open to bring in fresh air. Unfortunately, the hotel is located above a restaurant and our room seemed of fried food (I.e., fish and chips). Again, having to keep the window open also means you hear the outside noise which makes for an unpleasant sleep experience.

I think Iā€™d give a 3.5 if that was an option. Pros: service was nice, they brought us fresh towels often, great location, attached to a nice bar with friendly staff. A 2 min walk from the train station. Overall our room and bathroom was clean. Cons: it was unbelievably warm in our room, at least 15 degrees warmer than in the hallway. One of the two fans left in the room was not able to be used because it made a loud clicking noise. I am not sure if it was because we were on the top floor, but our window opened maybe 3 inches. That was not enough to cool the room off. Other misc comments: We had a room on the top floor which had a slanted ceiling, making the room feel a bit cramped.

Incredible staff, courteous, friendly, attentive, couldn't have asked for better. My first stay was a last-minute booking and the room was a little bit shabby, but you're right in the heart of the city and very close to bus/train. The 2nd stay was a reservation made well in advance, and I got one of the updated rooms. It was nice! There was a coffeepot/teapot, TV and shower with wonderful pressure and temperature. Food and drinks at the bar were perfect. Get the fish and chips with hop house 13! Live music too!

A slight step above a hostel. Tiny rooms with worn carpet and furniture. I understand air conditioning is rare in Ireland, but blasting music in the bar area and forcing us to listen to it through our open windows is obnoxious. Especially until midnight. Car park is blocks away, so prepare to lug your bags through Galway.

We had chosen this hotel because of its location close to Eyre square. But we found that the hotel has renovated a small number of their rooms and unfortunately ours was not one of those. So we had stains and stickiness in the carpet, we didnā€™t have any view, one of the two outlets didnā€™t work, and there was mildew in the bathroom. The hotel was basically an overpriced hostel. Since thereā€™s no way for the hotel to guarantee a good room, I would stay away until the rooms are all the same quality.

This was our 2nd time staying in this hotel and we won't be rushing back any time soon. The positives it is a great location, right on the square easy access to all transport links, the car park is attached to the shopping centre which is close by and the price is discounted through the hotel. Our room was actually spacious but very hot and just a view of a very dirty sky light. Lots of noise from the corridor and other rooms. Breakfast was dire, 3 staff members who were trying their hardest to keep on top of things but were out numbered by the guests after an hour of waiting we left and got breakfast elsewhere we had to ask for the cost to be deducted from our bill which it was but with no real apology. An expensive place to stay especially when the price does not match the facilities and service provided.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. Amazing location. The room was a bit tired and dated but it was quiet and got sleep there no problem. Initially got a small new room upstairs but too noisy/near street. Staff changed this no problem. Staff were very nice and accommodating in general. Very quick check in.

Hotel rooms are terrible. Stains on the carpets & walls. I think this was the worst hotel room i have ever seen - unbelievably dated but also dirty. They only advertise the few renovated rooms online, so they effectively catfish you. Price was ā‚¬250 a night, way too expensive for what it is. It's very rare in Ireland that you would encounter a hotel this bad - I will avoid in future and recommend everyone else does the same.

Stayed for a week at this older budget friendly hotel in the center of Galway. Asked for a room with a walk in shower as I had arranged prior. Parking was around the corner and the hotel validated each day (reduced down to ā‚¬12 a day from ā‚¬24). Rooms were on the small side but that seems to be the norm in most of Europe. No AC but had a fan and could open windows. There was an elevator thank god because a week of climbing stairs would have make my knee worse lol (elevators arenā€™t always in older European hotels). Breakfast was included but we didnā€™t realize until near the end of our stay and it wasnā€™t mentioned anywhere online or in person. Staff were great.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Myself and a friend stayed for a night, we didn't expect anything too fancy it was absolutely perfect for the night. The staff were all soo lovely and soo helpful. We had one of the non renovated rooms and it was fine with us we didn't have a problem.

The pub/restaraunt on the ground floor is ideally located right beside the train station and Eyre Square so it's a really central venue to meet, eat and drink. I've been there to eat a couple of times and the menu is suitable for everyone, reasonably priced and the food is good. I was there on Saturday afternoon and tbh, we were lucky to get a table without a reservation so, word to the wise, at this very busy season, with the Christmas Market making the city busier then it would normally be - make a reservation, then sit down, enjoy your meal and watch the world go by. Those window tables are excellent for people watching. It's accessible and toilets for Disabled Customers are available via the Reception area. Can't comment on the Rooms as I didn't stay there but everyone seemed jovial and full of Christmas cheer.

We were travelling with a baby and got put in a matchbox room you couldnt even for the travel cot in. My husband asked to be moved and to be fair to staff they obliged straight away even though they were fully booked. Rooms are so old and dated but to be fair they were very clean. Rest of hotel is great, staff were all amazing and food was nice. Decor was beautiful and location fantastic. All in all a lovely hotel if they finished updating . Price does not reflect the room

There was construction going on in the hotel and at no point were we told about this until first thing in the morning we were woken by the sound of hammers and drills, they was never address I even tried to message the hotel on Facebook after our stay however they didnt even reply to me. Clearly this hotel is not interested in its visitors at all and doesn't care how their stay is

We stayed here recently I paid 468euro for the room only for 2 nights. Night 1 dinner and drinks we paid 180 euro and night two paid 140 euro also. We were so disappointed that on check out, we asked if the bar/restaurant was open so we could get a coffee and brunch before taking our drive back to Dublin. As its such a long drive we needed a breakfast or something before hand. We were told at reception less than 60seconds after checking out the we were not residents and could not use the facilities. I was actually in shock when the guy on reception stated this, I said we are only checking out now and looking to grab a bite and a coffee and we were turned away. It was stated that this was due to Covid restrictions, if so then why was breakfast offered when booking and why wasn't this mentioned at check in? It completely took the shine off our stay. He was so rude and it looked like he nearly enjoyed turning us away, if someone is having a bad morning and is the type to take it out on customers the should not be front of house. I am yet to get a reply from management about this

Hotel is well located, clean and has excellent covid procedures in place and the bar staff and cleaners/porters are very welcoming and friendly. There was some renevations going on but overall it was a present stay.

I recently stayed at the Eyre Square Hotel in Galway for one night and overall, I had a decent experience. The location of the hotel was definitely a plus, as it was very close to the bus station and easy to reach. Upon arrival, my friend and I were able to get a room as walk-ins and were given a reasonable price. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with all the basic amenities provided. The bathroom was also clean and warm, which was especially appreciated after a long day spent exploring the windy Cliffs of Moher. The hotel's staff were friendly and accommodating, and we had no issues during our stay. One potential downside was that we didn't have the chance to try out the hotel's bar, as we were too tired after our day of adventure. However, from a quick glance, it did look like a nice spot to unwind and relax. Overall, I would say that the Eyre Square Hotel is a decent option for a short stay in Galway that provides a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city and surrounding areas.

The noise of construction work in the hotel when we arrived was absolutely disgraceful. There was no email or notice sent before arriving that there would be such noise and work going on. The receptionist told us when we checked in, but that itls far too late. It stopped by 5, but it was deafening up until then. Every guest we passed complained about it. The lift only worked when it felt like it. The amount of older couples having to use the stairs, because the lift took average 4/5 minutes to arrive. Hotel should be ashamed. Our room was right beside the housekeeping storage. They were opening and slamming the door from early hours of the morning and gathering to have their chats. Breakfast was a joke, very understaffed. We were seated at a dirty table with plates still on from the previous guests. Because of the plates on the table we were ignored by the 2 staff members on the floor. We asked them to clear the table and they said they would, they didn't. Couples that were sat after us had their tables cleared, drinks and menus given, while we still sat at a dirty table. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we left to go get better service outside of the hotel. The breakfast staff had the cheek to say goodbye as we left after ignoring us. Definitely will not be returning and will share this review among friends looking to stay in Galway.

Very small room for $135ā‚¬/nt but overall nice quiet safe and clean. Bed/pillows shower all good. Location very good for train or bus service. Some great local pubs across the street.

The hotel is nice and in a good location a close walk to the Latin quarter and other continence shops. The other guests were exceedingly loud thru the 2 nights we stayed there. The seagulls were also a bit noisy. The room was clean and there were chargers by the beds. the parking by the train station where we parked the hotel doesn't validate for. They told us only at the end of our trip when they offered to validate our parking. The cost for the train station parking wasn't too bad anyway. If you're looking to stay here just make sure to ask upfront where to park if you want to be validated.

There were good and bad aspects to this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful whether it was check-in, checkout, laundry services, and luggage storage. The location in downtown galway was super convenient. However, the rooms and bathrooms were just ok, a little run down. There was a lot of noise in the hallways and it sounded like construction was occurring throughout the hotel early in the morning which was quite disruptive. Also, loud seagulls roost on the roof which make it tough to sleep. No fitness center and very warm inside the hotel (no AC).

Terrible greeting at reception.. the rooms had been prebooked by our host in Galway but the hotel demanded we pay immediately!! A certain kind of prejudice was apparent and that is not acceptable at all. The staff didn't tell us when or where we would be served breakfast and the rooms smelt bad.. also there were loud construction works and drilling next to our rooms at an early hour which was very disturbing.. This felt intentional as if the guy on the desk put us there on purpose.. It was over priced and miserable..

Never ever I have stayed in such a terrible room in my life. Disgusting! to be exact the room number was 121. ā‚¬200 for two single unclean beds. Carpet filthy and ripped. If you do wish to stay here please ask for one of the newer rooms,Iā€™m sure they have and not the one I stayed in that looks to have the same carpet since it first opened. Way back when. I did take photos and will add at a later date.
