["‘My father was a chef, and he said always fry your full Irish. I know there’s a healthier way on the griddle, but when you’re on your holidays, you’ve gotta do it your way!” — Dolores, owner

The Forge is a find right outside the Galway city centre. You ring the bell and Dolores, the owner, greets you. You get your key, your room, and you’re off. Breakfast is personally prepared by her every morning. (The full Irish is grand.) You’re always met with a smile and a great amount of care. If you need anything, only ask.

There’s a personal feel to it. Some B&Bs have a hotel vibe but this one is more home-like. And the bathroom, I must say, is fantastic. Marble tiling, modern shower, oh yes. The breakfast room has voluminous amount of pictures and relata on the walls.

There was some noise at night but nothing that lasted terribly long. I was able to get a good night’s rest. Oh, the comforter is super warm, and there’s a chest with more blankets if need be. The room also comes with tea, coffee, and your own electric kettle.

If you need a nice place to stay in Galway, try the Forge.",null,[0,191]]

["Good value for a large ensuite room very close to the city centre. The location is perfect as it's in a quiet neighborhood but only 10-15 mins walk to the sea side, train station and the city centre. Canal walk is literally outside and there is a local pub and a very good seafood restaurant (Hooked) nearby. The host helped us check in in-person and gave us very warm welcome. She is very responsive since booking and during our stay. You will get tea and coffee in your room and very delicious full Irish breakfast in the shared kitchen if you fancy that! The room is spacious, clean and tidy with all the listed amenities. Highly recommended this place!",null,[0,235]]

If I could give more stars, I would! This place was absolutely perfect. Walking distance to all the good stuff. Clean and comfortable. Delores was the most wonderful host (and makes a wonderful breakfast)! I would definitely stay again!

Lovely B&B in close proximity to the city center! Delores made our stay exceptional and her home-made breakfast kept us going until dinner time!!

We had the loveliest stay here. Dolores made the best breakfast. Room was perfect and close to everything. Dolores and her husband made us feel at home. 10 out of 10 from us.

Great place! Very welcoming, makes you feel at home, and a very good full breakfast in the morning. One of those rare places where it’s very affordable but is also quality. You feel happy to pay because you know you’re also supporting a family run bnb who are very welcoming and warm-hearted. It’s also just an 8 minute walk from the loud night life so is still quite enough but also close enough as well, and there are even closer restaurants and quieter pubs nearby. Thanks so much for the pleasant experience, and even though it was just a night, really enjoyed my stay!

Best BnB we experienced. If I could give more stars I would! We needed a last minute BnB to stay at and I Googled and found the Forge B&B. Doloris is the most amazing host! When I called her it was early in the morning and she let us know she had a room available, however, check in wasn’t until later. She said we could stop by and drop off our luggage and walk around. By the time we got there it’s was raining and Doloris had the room ready and allowed us to check in our room early so we could get out of the rain. Which was very considerate and kind of her! She also hooked us up with an amazing company to take an excursion to the Cliffs of Moher. She had the bus pick us up right at her BnB. It was very convenient and helpful with her booking the excursion for us. I also had a situation on the excursion where I lost a winter hat that has sentimental value to me and the excursion company was blowing me off a bit and Doloris contacted them and gave them an ear full saying they need to find a way to get the hat to her so she could send it to me. The Forge B&B is very close to the main part of Galway. The morning breakfast is delicious and she has the coolest dinning room with memorabilia from all of around the world where they’ve traveled. Our room was large and we had our own entrance to our room. She really cares about each resident that stays at their BnB and I highly recommend staying at The Forge B&B!!

The cutest b&b in Galway! Thank you so much Dolores for having us in your beautiful home, and Carlyn sends a personal thank you for making her feel like she was having her grandmam’s breakfast every morning. We dearly miss you and the lovely town of Galway! ❤️

We could not have asked for a better stay. The B&B is located just across the river from downtown Galway, no more than a five minute walk to all the main pubs and restaurants. Our host Dolores was extraordinarily kind and accommodating, and made a mean breakfast (get the traditional Irish breakfast!). The room was incredible, with a cast iron fireplace and immaculately clean. The decor and atmosphere evoke authentic 19th century Ireland without a hint of cheesiness. Also, there's a recording studio on the property where Snow Patrol apparently recorded some stuff. Who knew? We highly recommend The Forge B&B if you're staying in Galway.

I had a WONDERFUL stay at The Forge House B&B recently while staying in Galway. It's centrally located (just a 2-3 minute walk to downtown Galway), but it's tucked away on a quiet street for a good night's sleep. Dolores is a fantastic host! She was so accommodating for us, and helped make tour arrangements on our behalf as well as gave recommendations that were lovely. The rooms and bathrooms were all pristine and comfy, and breakfast was the perfect start to each day. I highly recommend staying while in Galway.

Friendly owner, but not many amenities available. No common room/sitting area. Steep stairs, difficult to negotiate big luggage. Lock on the bedroom door did not work. Low water pressure. Had to ask for a kettle to boil water for tea and a hair dryer.

I visited Galway for 10 days, so glad I chose to stay at the Forge. Traveling solo, they put me up in a single on the first floor - it was perfect for me. Location is perfect, just a few short blocks away from everything. The owners are wonderful people, friendly, helpful, a pleasure to be with. I didn't miss a single breakfast - full Irish, enough food to feed a family! I discovered after arriving that there is a recording studio right next door. "The Forge Recording Studio" is owned by the same couple! I'm not a professional musician, but I write songs and record every now and then. Music was one of the things that drew me to Galway in the first place, with "trad" every night in the pubs. So I bought a new guitar in town and recorded at the studio...my stay in Galway turned into a musical immersion. I didn't want to leave, best vacation EVER. The Forge B&B is a Winner.

It was a very pleasant stay at The Forge! Dolores and Bernard are such lovely persons! The breakfast is very good and you can ask for an early one if you need to hit the road before 7 AM. It's clean, has a huge bathroom and confortable beds. Easy to go by walking if you come from bus station (coming from or going to Dublin). Recommended!

😠 EXTREMELY loud.... I booked on a Wednesday night for 2 nights, and I cannot drown out the noise from the bar below; my television does not work to drown it out despite the attempts of the kind bar manager. 😠 I'd give a rating of zero. When we arrived to check in there was no one present. We called and they hung up on us twice. The staff member (owner we think) arrived late while we waited outside with another couple of "guests". We got a different room with no sea view and two single beds, which we did...
