It truly made our time in Galway horrible. We left as soon as we possibly could. Other guests were running around in the morning trying to find the manager because they had been parked in by other guests due to the poor setup of the parking lot. horrific experience!!! The amber lodge is unprofessional and most importantly FILTHY. 1) we arrived to the location around 7pm and no-one was there to answer the door. we had to wait out in the rain until someone showed up after we found wifi connection to make a phone call. 2) the toilet didnt work. 3) water stains were seeping from the sides of wall. 4) the restroom was filthy with dirt scum 5) there was a nasty BLOOD stain on the comforter 6) we asked to speak to the manager on several occasions and the man at the front desk refused to contact them, told me that's how they do things on the island. we are very upset with how we were treated at the amber lodge guest house (aka amber lodge b&b, which btw they didnt even serve breakfast). we had to leave our room in the middle of the night to find a bed for the night so we wouldn't be sleeping in the streets of Galway.

["Beautiful view of the bay, clean room, good location, but one of the worst nights sleep I've ever had. We were in Galway for two nights, on the second night, there was loud banging for hours and hours all through the night (maybe a washing machine) and there were no curtains on the windows, so when the sun rises it's extremely bright in the room. Woke up after four hours of sleep from the noise and our last day in Galway (which we'd saved to see the cliffs, etc.) was officially ruined, we had to go straight home so I could get some sleep. The rooms are also very tiny, but that's what we paid for. Nonetheless, the toilet is about 2 feet from the bed, so there's not much in the way of privacy. No washcloths or toiletry items. Breakfast was not available due to construction which is completely understandable, however the reason for the low rating is due to the loudness of the staff messing around in the kitchen playing music and drinking beer thought it was very amateur to be honest, this along with the fact that for the 3 days we stayed there was only running water in one of the days taps unable to use taps or shower, I guess your asking why didn’t we tell someone?....well there was nobody here till 11am to tell no ideal when you have to leave at 9am! I will certainly not be back ever!! Ffs TV didn’t even work!!

No breakfast, no wifi, no parquet\/hardwood flooring (it's cheap, chipped laminate), no cleaning regime (opened food package in bedside cabinet with 4 empty water bottles and dirty floor), no fire escape plan and out of test fire extinguisher, black mould on shower and room door surround, waste water (may have even been sewage ) running down outside passage to rooms, staff outside room very noisy late at night. The bedroom was in bad condition, black mold was on the blind and the wallpaper was pealing off the walls in one corner, revealing more mold. The staff were friendly and accommodating but the breakfast was poor. Overall I would not recommend it!
