In
2001
room
prices
were
still
affordable
for
a
common
tourist,
rooms
and
service
were
quite
OK
though
the
hotel
was
by
far
not
as
large
and
luxurious
as
what
it
looks
like
at
present.
Anyway,
after
our
arrival,
we
settled
in
our
room
and
decided
to
have
a
quiet
cool
drink
on
the
garden
circular
terrace
with
swimming
pool.
Later
on
we
went
to
lay
down
a
bit
in
the
garden
but
after
some
time
I
decided
to
have
a
stroll
through
the
garden.
I
shot
a
picture
of
the
pink
oleander,
of
my
wife
while
she
was
reading
a
book
and
further
away,
in
and
near
a
greater
rectangular
swimming
pool
I
shot
the
picture
of
a
2
meter
long
monitor
lizard
that
had
come
to
take
a
swim
and
was
frightening
the
nearby
guests
away.
I
then
left
the
hotel
garden
towards
the
Senegambia
beach
(that
was
hardly
commercially
exploited
by
the
hotels
at
that
time)
and
noticed
an
impressive
large
tree
where
2
teenaged
boys
seemd
to
have
installed
some
kind
of
camp
or
"open
air
man-cave"
with
the
companionship
of
all
kind
of
rubbish
nearby.
I
had
a
brief
chat
with
them
and
made
a
small
series
of
pictures
of
them,
then
I
continued
my
short
walk
on
the
beach
and
shot
some
more
pictures.
