Recommend the visit. We had a pleasure that the guide was the manager of the park. Have different possibilities how to go in to the park. If first time, recommend it with the guide and some food for the monkeys. To get to know them and the history of the monkey and the park. Park is beautiful. This is the way to see the animals. In it natural habitat. Not in the zoo. We come for a visit. They are starting to protect the park and to preserve it. Money that comes to the park will go to protecting the park.

Small but very nice park. Entrance is 150 dallassi per person and you really don't need a guide (we didn't). Only few routes through the parc, impossible to get lost and in the first part there are monkeys everywhere. They are really sweet natured! Gently pick the bananas and peanuts out of your hands. Recommended to buy banana's and peanuts elsewhere (cheaper). Also saw nice birds like the red horn bill.

I would definitely recommend this for children. Easy walk, two types of monkeys who are friendly as they used to people. You can feed them from your hand. You can buy nuts (for res monkeys) and bananas (the “green monkeys”) and I would recommend that. I took just nuts and have to say that other monkeys haven’t been interested:) There is NO need for guide as park is easy to go through and if you will just follow the path than you won’t get lost at all. It’s just not possible 😂 If you don’t know anything about monkeys, flora etc, have a guide as he will explain and will make you “safe”. There was no need for me

Great park, you can walk as far as you want or as little as you want. Our entry fee was 150 d each and 500 for a guide which you will need if you want to make the best of your experience. It's a nice place to see the monkeys. They are very calm and gentle monkies, not at all aggressive. There's a few large termite mounds that are cool. The woods itself is shaded by sunshine, which makes it very comfortable to walk around. We got a taxi here from the Balafon Hotel. We paid 500d to the taxi driving for the round trip. He came back an hour later to collect us and dropped us back at the hotel door. Dont let anyone charge you more than 250d each way, as it isn't very far. Also you can walk here by the beach but due to harassment from the locals we avoided that. There are 3 nice stalls here selling keyrings, bracelets, artwork etc. Nice little gifts to take home.

Monkey park was wonderful. Prices are 150 D for non residents and 50 for residents and children under 12 are free. You can bring your own peanuts and bananas. The park do have supplies but limited. I do say the location on this map is a little off which leads you to the wrong entrance. Which you run into the locals who may trick you into paying for a tour guide you may not want. But overall it’s a nice walk in the park with many monkeys.( pay when you get there no advance tickets is needed)

This place is a nice eco-friendly nature spot. I’d recommend paying a guide to take you around. Mass(our guide) was patient throughout. There’s an entry fee(free for under 12s) and I’ll advise to wear comfortable shoes because we were told there might be snakes roaming around. The monkeys are friendly but you need to buy peanuts to attract them.

Very nice visit, walking through the park meeting and feeding monkeys along the way. We used a local taxi driver to take us and as a guide. We purchased a few bags of nuts on the drive to the park. He knew where to enter and the path to take and where to turn back. Cost is very good (150 per person plus 50 for guide). Spend approx a hour or so within the park and fed both types of monkey. The interaction is amazing and they happily take nuts from your hand gently. Highly recommended.

Bring peanuts. Lots of peanuts. Monkeys love them. Don't be scared, when monkeys approach you with they their hand up in the air. They just want PEANUTS!

The location of the park has changed and is much smaller. The paths have not been cleaned and its just a very small area. The staff are rude and try to get as much money out of you. You don't need to buy peanuts, you can bring your own, but they are not necessary. They need to clean the paths so you can walk around more.

So many monkeys! Bring some peanuts and bananas or you can buy some if the vendors are selling just inside the park entrance. It was 150 dalasi entrance fee. The park is pretty big and you can walk around for a while. Most of the monkeys congregate around the beginning area but we walked a bit towards the back and found some more monkeys hanging out. They will start coming towards you when you enter because I’m sure they can smell the food or they know that people bring food. Not necessary to have a guide. I spent about 30 minutes here, you can stay for longer if you’re really enjoying it or shorter if you’ve had enough. When you give the monkeys the bananas and peanuts they will hold onto your hands, it’s cute if you’re not scared of monkeys. I’ve been to other monkey parks like in Indonesia. I felt these monkeys here in Gambia are more chill. In Indonesia the monkeys were aggressive and stealing sunglasses, hats, watches, phones, etc but here in Gambia the monkeys are just interested in the food and quite shy otherwise.

The Monkey Park is located close to the Kololi and Senegbian hotel areas. From the hotels you can easily walk to the park in about 10 minutes. The entrance to the park is quite unobtrusive. At the entrance there are walnut vendors where you can buy nuts for your monkeys. Admission tickets are sold in the rearmost building. Ticket price is 150 GMD per person. I don´t recommend taking a guide to the park as you self will find monkeys moving around .... or the monkeys will find you. Even getting lost in the park is practically impossible, you just follow the paths. The area is bounded between the sea and the road so that you cannot be misled. A lot of monkeys are seen and they are calm and take nuts out you hand. Also take good photos is easy there. The forest is suitably shaded so you can visit it even in the hottest times. Drinking water should be reserved as the park does not sell water. Great experience worth a visit. Apinapuisto sijaitsee lähellä Kololin ja Senegbian hotellialueita. Hotelleilta kävelee helposti noin 10 minuutissa puistoon. Puiston sisäänkäynti melko huomaamaton. Sisäänkäynnin luona on pähkinän myyntikojuja, joista voi ostaa apinoita varten pähkinät. Sisäänpääsylippuja myydään takimmaisessa rakennuksessa. Lipun hinta on 150 GMD henkilöltä. Hieno kokemus, kannattaa vierailla.

Surprisingly good. We had a great guide in Mustapha Trawally who talked us though the surroundings and natural phenomena in perfect English between meeting and feeding the Green Vervet and Red Colobus monkeys and charming miniature goats. Definitely worth the 150 dalassi entry fee and the cost of a few nuts. In hindsight the monkeys seemed to prefer bananas when they had their fill of nuts.

The parc itself deserves 4-5 stars, the nature is really beautiful and the monkeys are really kind However: The staff at the entrance will really try hard to convince you that a guide is necessary although it is not. He told us that 1) that at this time of the year, the monkeys have babies (true) and that they are agressive (definitly not true, they even wait patiently for you to feed them peanuts 2) moreover, when he realized that we do not want to take a guide because we read on here, that is not necessary, he just lowered the price and pretented that he is really worried about our security 3) lastly, he said that we only have to pay afterwards if we actually see monkeys which sounds like a nice offer but is actually a joke knowing that you can not not see monkeys there because they are very used to humans and will approach you hoping that you will feed them

My loved monkeys, beautiful creatures, i am in love with them. Ticket is cheap, just 150 D, you can buy bananas and peanuts there or bring with you as not all monkeys eat bananas. It was phenomenal, they are cute, you can touch them, no need to worry as they are calm and lovely, not like monkeys in Asia which wants to steal hats, glasses, etc. This is different level. This monkeys depending on tourists to be fed. Please bring food for them !

Don’t get scammed by the highly recommended guides”, we did not learn anything and because they wanted to get more clients they made us go to the exit very fast. We also don’t recommend buying the bananas they sell, the peanuts are enough and attract all the types of monkeys in the park. Apart from this it’s a magical experience where you get to be close to monkeys by feeding them and we even ended up with some on our shoulders. Loved this experience!

Well you pay entrance. And then prepare to buy peanuts to feed the monkeys and goats. You also get a guide, that wants money for rice and also some tips. You can say no, but probably have to repeat it a lot, before they let you go on your own. The monkeys are sweet, but you see them many places. They are eating A LOT of peanuts usually rather full. Some of them are even so friendly that they take nuts from your hand even though they dont wanna eat them all the time. It is safe to go close respectfully.

But then ran around there with the guide from the park, he has a lot of explaining (engl.). This information we would not have had otherwise, really recommended. There are monkeys, but everything else sucks. Scam and extortion of money. Not recommend. Get peanuts and wait underneath the fench you will see monkeys, you'll be able to feed them the same way as inside the park. But if you decide to go don't buy peanuts from them, take your own, don't pay for "guide". There are big pathes, you definietly won't lost.

The cost is 150 Dalasi paid in the office and get a ticket. You do not need to buy peanuts and you do not need a guide if you do not want one. Peanuts will attract the monkeys to come to you. You can walk around by yourself. You can also see a lot of birds here. The people trying to sell peanuts at the entrance (who said were working at the park) were very rude and were telling me that I could not takes photos of the trees without permission. Still giving 3 stars because the nature was interesting.
