We stayed at Abca's for a couple of days to experience more of inland Gambia. The highlight of it were the guided trips and tours you can book from there. We only had 2 days available for that but we've did the boat tour, nature walk and cultural tour around the villages. Especially the last one was one we won't forget soon. The resort itself is completely isolated in mangroves. The room was basic, only cold water but the price was also very fair. You do get a mosquito net and a fan. We also had basic Wifi in the room which is a plus. We loved all the animals going about their way around the resort, especially the duck family. At Abca's they sometimes organise buffet style dinner which I wouldn't really recommend. We ordered primarily a la carte which was excellent and cheaper than the buffet. We've also learned about everything Abca's does for the surrounding communities which really touched us. All in all it was a great experience. Only real problem was when we arrived at ~1600 as we've indicated on our booking reservation Abca's thought we would be a no show. Luckily it was not yet high season so we could still get a room. Would advise if your arrive late to message them directly that you are arriving late.

The location in the mangroves is great & there are lots of different activities offered. One particular highlight was being able to take a kayak & paddle off on our own. The staff were very friendly, especially Kadija, & always on hand. However, if you are there to immerse yourself in nature this may not be the place for you. Outside lights were left on all night making it impossible to see the stars & hard to sleep. The restaurant played music continously, which could be heard throughout the riverside areas. During our stay a large group arrived. Without prior warning the restaurant suspended the a la carte menu, only putting on a fixed-price buffet. The food was excellent but the lack of choice or warning, & prioritisation of groups over individuals was disappointing.

AbCaโ€™s Creek Lodge is a must-visit hidden gem in The Gambia. I fell in love with the serene and breathtaking views and will definitely revisit.

Incredible place in serene surroundings. Everything about our stay was top notch. We were inspired by the love that goes into every detail of the construction and decoration. Highly highly recommend to stay here on your Gambia adventures! We rented a canoe to trip along the River and enjoyed running in the nearby bush.

Experienced staff, good rooms; quiet mangrove creek for relaxing and birdwatching. Enough small tours to keep you occupied. The village is a km away. The difference between โ€˜going localโ€™ and this well designed lodge takes some landing time; but is a breath of fresh air when you come from/ had enough of your adventures in the east.

Great place.. though I wasn't comfortable in the Woodhouse due it's limited space and location within the premises, I was later transferred to a river house, which was excellent.

The place is beautiful, peaceful and very well integrated with the nature and environment. Nature is vibrant inside the lodge with beautiful and funny vervet monkeys playing around, colorful birds and squirrels everywhere... You can just relax in one of the sunbeds under a gazebo, a tree, on the deck or under the sun all the day reading, meditating and contemplating the nature or you can choose one of the activities suggested by the lodge. Background playlists at the restaurant are very pleasant, most of it being good west African music. The food is quite tasty, especially the local one. The staff are very kind. I would come back for sure. However, I hesitate to give 5 stars and at the beginning I was a bit hesitant also for the 4th because there are some important details that should be improved and would make the experience impeccable: Towels provided are old, they are supposed to be white but they are quite stained and brownish they either need to be bleached or changed. Same for cushions of seats and sunbeds outside need changing... There is no disinfectant spray or gel in this covid period especially in a place where lot of tourists pass by and would like to reduce the risk of testing positive to covid and getting stuck in the country. Same for insect repellent, it would be advisable to keep it at the restaurant where we got some bites and we also had many of them in the room. The mosquito net helped a bit but didn't stop one that managed to enter. The staff were in denial insisting that there were no mosquitoes. The menu at the restaurant shows fresh juice and smoothies that are not actually there, it would be so nice in such a place to have them during the day, or even a fresh coco. Or at least a coke in a glass with a slice of lemon instead of the can without a glass. Waiters were nice and always available but they often forgot to put serviette or glasses on the table.

Nice clean and friendly staff. Beautiful surroundings. Basic room as to be expected but beautiful gardens. Food and drink very overpriced though and although food was nice enough, it took over an hour for 2 burgers. We would have drank more but d100 for a julbrew and d55 for a local cocktail drink is extortionate. Im sure many guests would drink more if the prices were reasonable.
