Best spot for eat coconut rotti and drink plain tea while traveling to Nuwara eliya. The nai miris sambola was so spicy and you can easily beat cold weather get your body in to normal tempreture. Also should metion the kitul hakuru (Jaggery) they provided with plain tea was simply amazing, the best I had in my life. The staff member are active and provide what you order proactively. Not only that once you go there balcony you can get some amazing view.

Hot rotis were excellent and everything really hit the spot. The Tapioca curry was creamy and comforting (texture and taste like potato) I enjoyed so much I forgot to take a picture until the meal was over… They follow the local custom of only charging for whatever you eat (roti and wada) and the curried are refilled without charge. Good service too Would definitely come back if I passed this way again!

Nice little tea shop near the road. Have some great short eats You must try their කෝචිචි සම්බොල් (chili gravy) it's so damn spicy but have so much flavor. And they got home made හකුරු as well Have parking space They said they got rice and curry for the meals as well but I haven't tried it.

A famous place to have rotti and tea. A cool place to have a break while traveling. Located in Kandy - Nuwara-Eliya road

Plan for this stop to refresh, if you are traveling between Nuwaraeliya & Kandy/Gampola. You can try authentic Sri Lankan snacks (pol roti, wadey), condiments & drinks (tea, coffee, milk). They use locally supplied raw/fresh cow’s milk, not processed/pasteurised milk. So you get authentic taste & smell of cow’s milk.

Must try their Pol Rotti with Nai Miris (Very spicy) and Mushroom + Plain tea with jaggery. Best combination with the weather. Service is really good. Parking is quite small. Washrooms available for both ladies and gents separately.

Overall, it is good. Good food and good service. The price of the food is affordable. There are not any separate parking options. You can park your vehicle in front of the shop. The best dish is the rotti with lunu miris. Dhal vada and patties are also good. If you want, you can drink fresh milk as well. I have visited there a few times. There were seats available when I last visited. But sometimes the place is crowded. There is an old lady who supplies a good service. But the toilets are not good. Smells are  coming out of them and unclean. I visited there to have brunch.

This small restaurant by the roadside on the Gampola Nuwara Eliya road serves good tea and hot rottis. There is enough space to park a few cars by the roadside. The rottis are served fresh and with a chillie-onion sambol and a mushroom curry. It was quite good but be weary of the spice level as it is quite high. The place has a small toilet nearby but ladies beware, they don't have commodes. So if you're stopping here looking to use the washroom as well, this is not the ideal place. The tea was served hot with no sugar but with a piece of jaggery by the side. The views were good, but inside the restaurant is not the best place to enjoy them from.

Been there for a long time, Best place; around to taste a 'Roti' with 'Nai Miris Sambol'. During busy hours will have to wait in ques to get served. Wash rooms are not wheelchair accessible.

The sambal is to die for. Not everyone can stomach the hot chillies there. Everyone goes there for rotti and nai miris sambol. There is a huge turnover so food must be fresh out of pan. Would recommend for food. Travellers better be careful if not exposed to hot chillis here lol 😁 the sambol is iconic. Highly recommended.

One of the best stops to have a break.this place has one of the popular delicious serving "Pol roti",along with a spicy paste with chili and onions. And ITS HOT....have them with a cup of plain tea

  • 4/5 Chamara J. 6 years ago on Google
Onion sambol with chillies is exceptional here. It is very hot though you can enjoy it. Rotties are not as good as the sambol but not that bad either. Recent addition was banana chips. This is the only place I found those. They are unconventional yet tasty. Offers buffet as well. Wide range of food items are available.

Calm and clean place for a Pol Roti or some snacks. Located facing a mountain range and a tea plantation. Quality food for a good price.

Stopped here for a short eat and wada and rotie are super delicious with onion salad. Nice staff and helpful. Parking available and the Restuarant is located in-front of “Rothschild” estate sign board. Easy to find. Recommended for anyone who wants to have Sri Lankan breakfast and short-eats.
