We found this little hide away on google. Don’t be alarmed by the creepy alley, once you go up the stairs it’s a super cute little coffee shop. The coffees are really good and we tried the chocolate brownie with ice cream……..WOW nicest brownie I’ve tasted. Really cool 80/90 tunes playing in the background! Great touch. Staff are young and very friendly. Price is good too. A must visit. Highly recommend.

I ordered the avocado toast. Beautifully presented food. Tasty and a little kick of spice. No egg yolk, only egg whites? Bread a bit soggy as all the topping was placed on the top. Sauce was tasty and nice pickles 🥒 A lot off egg and not enough toast for personally. A good sized portion. Prices are a little higher than other cafes in Kandy. They accept card payment. Toilets are outside. You need a key for the padlock.

Returning to this cafe after four years, I am delighted that its charm and quality have remained unchanged. It's rare to revisit a place and discover it still holds the same magic as on your first visit. This cafe continues to serve, in my opinion, the best coffee in all of Sri Lanka. Nestled up a nondescript alley in central Kandy, climbing stairs leads you to this serene oasis. The atmosphere remains as cosy and chilled as ever, with beautiful murals adding to the cafe's unique character. The coffee is still excellent, a perfect companion to a leisurely breakfast. The added perks of nice background music and free Wi-Fi only enhance the experience. I appreciate the old-world charm of the building and sincerely hope it withstands the test of time against modern developments. This cafe is a must-visit for anyone in Kandy, offering a peaceful retreat in the city's heart. Highly recommended for those seeking a quiet spot with great coffee and a relaxed vibe.

Cafe Secret Alley in Kandy Town is a charming spot with a beautiful, small setting. The menu boasts a variety of options, and their smoothly bowls are a standout delight. The staff is friendly, and I must say, they serve the best avocado toast I've ever had. The overall vibe of the cafe adds to the delightful experience. Highly recommended!

We stopped by here after wandering around the city looking for something cold to eat and drink. It actually located in an alley! It was a little weird walking toward the café and up the stairs into the café, but the café was super cute once you are inside! We love it! They have cute drawings on the walls! The server was super friendly! We order a drink and a smoothies bowl. It sure hit the spot! Both items were actually cold and were really good! Highly recommended!

Nice place with a tropical vibe. They have salads, shakes, and toasts in their menu. We ordered a brownie shake, brownie with ice cream and a mushroom toast. However the serving of mushroom toast got bit delayed and they waived off the service charge for us because of that. Food was delicious but customer service could be improved. Its nice if the staff could be bit more friendlier.

Nice and Clean little place. Calm environment even its in center of Kandy town. Range of foods and Drinks. Mainly Coffee. I like the blue and yellow color combination. No credit card payments available. Less crowded when i visited. (Saturday Morning half). Friendly staff. You have to be there to spend some time. Because its taking little longer time to get your order. But that also good to stay there for a while. Mostly its filled with foreigners during my visit. Foods are not very cheap but prices are reasonable.

Best breakfast in town!!! The coffee and food are amazing! Very organised and clean! I highly recommended this place, I had the avocado toats, and their service is amazing! Super kind staff, big smiles, and professionalism. I am definitely coming back :) I was attended by Shashi, and he was super nice!

Secret alley is a cozy place located in Kandy for healthy eats. The expenses of the food are higher compared to the other cafes around Kandy, but it is fully worth compared to the richness and creativity of the presentation of the food. Recently tried a cheesy chicken koththu from Secret Alley. It is the best in town. I have tried many varieties of cheese koththu from different places, but guarantee, that the Secret Alley Cheese koththu justifies “cheese” in a remarkable way. The brownies milkshake with ice cream is also a flavourful combination. Most of the foreigners would like to visit Secret alley since it has a different and healthy menu compared to another menu available in cafes. Visit Kandy and try out the place at least once.

Hidden place with good coffee. Don’t use the proper cups, use small glasses for everything. But the missing handle did not matter, the coffee was not very hot. Flat white was very small. Coffee has more taste than at most places, a bit on the sour side. Toilet situation is not so great, need to go in a dirty backyard and they forgot to give me the key.

Lovely food and drink that's healthy too! The lime iced tea wasn't packed with sugar, which was a nice refreshing change. We had the pumpkin toast (deliciously spiced) and the nourish bowl (packed with tasty healthy veg). Place is cosy and clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful. A little hidden off the main road, but there's a big sign.

Cost cafe serving fresh no-sugar juices (the way it should be!) and aromatic good coffee. Food was tasty and portion was sufficient. A pity the brunch menu only starts from 12pm.

It was an amazing experience to try out their coffee and juice selection. They're currently short staffed but still doing a great job. They don't accept card payments at the moment so don't forget to carry your cash. Staff is always in smiles, glad that we found this Hidden cafe in the beautiful city Kandy.

Found this looking on Google maps and decided to visit. Unfortunately they're currently short of staff and don't have a chef for lunch/dinner meals so they serve the breakfast menu all day. Still amazing choice. You can have some nice bowls, or toast with avo kind of things. Then of course some amazing sweet treats. I treated myself to a thirst juice and chocolate pancakes after 10 days of eating local food and it was amazing and not too expensive

We got a poke bowl, and avocado toast. Poke bowl was excellent, avocado toast was also good. The bread was really nice. The wait was a little long, so be ready for that. However the atmosphere is nice so it’s good for chatting while you wait. The Iced latte was also tasty! I would definitely recommend!

This place is a Pearl of kandy city centre. They bought extra for us soya-milk for us for the cappuccino. The pancakes are just heaven. The shakes are harmonically and refreshing! Definitely a good Place to enjoy

Chilled back hip cafe that distinguishes itself from all others in the town. If you want to step away from busy streets of Kandy to wind down and relax while enjoying a good beverage and perhaps a meal then this might might just be the place for you. This place has struggled due to lack of tourism after turbulent recent past. Made two attempts to visit and order a meal however on each occasion the place was shut despite arriving during advertised opening times. The third attempt was success albeit this time I was there just out of curiosity. Ordered a coffee and as it was delivered I took the opportunity to share the feedback from my previous attempts and to my suprise the waiter was very keen to hear more details of my experience with interest to use it as an opportunity to improve. During our conversation I discovered that the waiter was actually the owner and he insisted that the coffee was on the house. He refused to take my money in the end but I was very persistent and left it on the counter with a little tip. I regret not having the opportunity to try some of the awesome looking meals but if it is anything like the long black I had the pleasure of sipping whilst chilling back on the balcony then I have no doubt there would be of a great standard. This rating is largely based on the experience at this cafe. That which is the genuine and friendly service and a good example what great people there are in Sri Lanka.

The place has a very tropical vibe, with vibrant colours and pineapples as deco. Not overly pricey and they have a really interesting beverage selection. We tried the latte, the secret special and the chocolate biscuit shake. The best was the chocolate biscuit shake, the latte was nothing to complain about. The secret special is chilled coffee with coconut milk and cinnamon powder, the concept is very interesting and you get a great taste of cinnamon but it wasn't coconutty enough for my liking. Would definitely visit again.

Banana + dates + beetroot smoothie is very delicious 😋 All their smoothies come without sugar and ice. The food generally is not spicy, also tasty and offered with original tobacco souce separetly. Desserts are not too sweet and you can taste natural ingredients.

This place gives out a vibe like you headed down all the way to the South, Galle Unawatuna area while being in Kandy. So so good food. Can never complain about their food but also no words to explain the goodness.. Everything is definitely healthy; it's always a finite combo of healthy and super delicious food. Rates are fairly bearable too. Go to this place with your favorite people. You can just relax and eat.

Awesome atmosphere hidden in the alley way little beach style oasis in the city. Great if you want to enjoy your coffee away from the busy road. Coffee is fair trade local product and roasted in the house. Love it!

Lovely cafe to take a breather from the busy streets! The food is fantastic (great portions, on the higher end price-wise, but justifiably), and the staff is super nice, very welcoming. Their wifi isn’t the best (had to work a bit and used my hotspot) but if you’re just visiting it’s a great place to come and chill for a bit!

One of the best options for breakfast in Kandy. However, don’t expect to get your food fast, even in 20 minutes. If you have plenty of time, then go for it and enjoy a tasty granola bowl.

This place looks great. No doubt, you’ll get what you’re looking for here. A bit too busy for the poor waiter who runs around trying to please demanding guests, having waited for their coffee or food they ordered more than 15-25 min ago. They had at least a few ppl waiting for a table most of time during early lunch hours, which says its popular and wanted. Ourselves included needed to be very patient, waiting for the right time to ask for a knife to start the meal or the missing coffee out of two ordered, or even a menu to begin with. If you are not in rush or super hungry, this will be no problem - the waiter comes back to you later, but works alone so I do not think all the waiting is his fault. Also the place is quite small, so a second waiter would probably be max capacity anyways. The food was okay, but nothing special - a bit blend to be fair. That does not mean a lack of chili, but rather daring to add Salt and Pepper on the egg and avocado. Everything looks great though, a visually pleasing place both from the walls and their dishes. The photos and menu reflects a better era pre-pandemic. We came for pancakes and perhaps more classic salty food, but could not get it. The limesoda is very sour, not sweet like in Balaj Dosai if you compare. The americano coffee was great, a really genorous large cup with the real thing. Try it out, but lower your expectations slightly and it will be great. I recommend this place, please enjoy.

Me and my friend went and had the worst time ever. Just for a drink and pancakes we waited about 45 min. And for the worst they bought a wrong dish. As from my personal perspective the foods wasn't that great and the atmosphere as well. The prices are kinda averagely high and don't suit for locals.

Cute and cool little cafe located right in the Kandy city yet bit hidden and away from bustle. First impression of the cafe created from the wall arts in entrance passage and interior decors is pretty novel compared to typical cafes in Sri Lanka, specially in Kandy. Seeing the menu, adds to that feeling, since they don’t have usual rice and noodles options but some healthy, filling and delicious smoothies in coconut shell bowls, pancakes and waffles, salads, nicely presented milkshakes, coffee, mocktails etc . So any foodie who love to try something different and bit fancy plus healthy would love this place. I tried a smoothie bowl which was a blend of my favourite fruits was so good and loved the brownie shake with a perfectly baked brownie on top of it . Their pancakes were fluffy and tasty too. Prices were pretty reasonable. Basically everything about this cafe was great including the friendly service and freshly made food there .

Nice little hidden cafe. Good selection of brunch / western dishes. Pretty decent coffee. Tea was served as a Lipton tea bag which is pretty disappointing seen as we’re in tea country. Lovely staff. Good service.

A great little hidden gem in Kandy centre! This is an ideal place to head to for breakfast or lunch. Especially if you're vegan / vegetarian. A good selection of fresh, healthy, tasty options available. We had 2 different smoothie bowls which were both REALLY good and very filling. Plus we tried the Bliss Bowl which was packed full of good healthy ingredients and tasted great! The food prices here are really good and a bit less than other similar places we tried. However the drinks were slightly more expensive. So I guess it balances out in the end. But still the final bill is great value for money considering the quality! We would highly recommend a visit.
