Interesting tea factory with a long tradition. Like in many other local tea manufactures even in Glenloch you can find some special selections and original flavours. My favourite is a silver peak. If you prefer slowlier factory visit try avoid peak morning times when most of tourist groups are coming for visit.

This is a great experience! An amazing tour of the factory going through each stage of the tea making process including machinery! Then we were able to taste a variety of teas and then pick tea 🍃

We felt good. I visited the factory with a guide and saw the tea making process. In the end I tasted several types of tea. The factory has a tea shop (with many assortments), where you can buy good quality teas at reasonable prices.

My wife and I are Sri Lankan and a colleague/friend of ours visited Sri Lanka while we were there, so we took him to see Glenloch. He got a tour of the factory and the nice lady showed him the process the tea goes through after it’s plucked to the point it is packaged. He also was able to try tea plucking. This is a very nice place to visit and learn about Ceylon tea. They also allow you to taste many types of tea. They have the largest selection of teas for purchase that I’ve ever seen in one location in Sri Lanka. I really liked their tea shop because in one place we could purchase every type of tea we wanted. I will bring many of our friends who are visiting from the USA to see Glenloch. We had a good time here.

This estate was established in 1917 and is situated in Ramboda, in the Dimbula Agro-Climatic District. Glenloch Estate has an annual production of approximately 350,000 kg and is IS022000:2018 and HACCP certified. The estate/factory is owned and managed by distinguished tea producer M.T.M. Refai, whose passion for tea manufacture.

This is we're the guide/ drivers bring you. You get a 5min factory tour and a free tee. Then of course you should buy tea. But they are not pushy which is good. Vut it's not the nicest tea factory or place to be. Better do another one and don't let driver choose this one

Great tour. Got to walk around the entire production facility and hear all the facts. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight was getting to try some tea picking which was a good laugh!

The largest of the tea factories in the Nuwara area! Their tours are well organized and executed by a host of friendly guides. The tour ends with a customary tea tasting in a room where the view alone is worth the visit. The shop on site is very well stocked.

Since we arrived all employees were very nice and polite. The rooms were very big and bed very comfortable, also with a nice view on tea hills. In the morning after breakfast we visited the tea factory and tea plantation. Ms. Shiva guided us trough it with a perfect and detailed explanation and after she showed us how to take and select the right leaves in order to have the perfect tea. After a tea tasting we could buy some of their delicious teas. Thank you very much for this experience! A special thanks to Ms. Shiva and all the hotel employees.

Fantastic place arranged at part of tea factory. Gorgeus view from patissery. We spand a night and had absolutely outstanding breakfast. People are very kind, helpful. Teas are very good and not very expensive. We swą the factory, and I wish I can take a photo of fantastic smell of the tea leafes.

Very interesting tour and tea testing experience. The tea you are encouraged to buy at the factory is vastly overpriced however. I recommend buying tea if you are giving as gifts from a local tea merchant shop in whatever area you are staying.

Priya our tour guide was lovely. She played with our son and made the overall experience comfortable and fun. The tour itself was informative and straight to the point. We got to try 4 different types of tea without extra fees. A great quick stop on your way to kandy/ ella.

Making a visit to a Tea factory is a common factor for any tourist to hang around on the way to Ella from kandy. The tour host will make a tick that he has taken you for site seeing. I believe visiting Glenloch tea factory will give the visitors, completely a different experience. Staffs like Ms. Sivani and other Co workers help you understand the process of making different types of tea. They show extreme hospitality. Easily its one of the oldest in that area. At the end you tend to buy some tea for your dear and nears back home.
