Excellent place to hangout with friends and family. The menu items have a lot of options. I personally tried the cake 🎂, very reasonable price and delicious. Friendly staffs and clean environment. They do sell kithul jaggery and pure honey.

Recently,I ordered a chocolate drip cake🎂 with strawberries & chocolate balls toppings as a surprise birthday gift for my friend near Kegalle.I haven't personally visited to this shop & haven't tasted their cakes.But I've seen good comments about their foods.That's why I contacted them.All the ordering process was done via the WhatsApp and they did really amazing job for my choice.The cake was INCREDIBLE !!!!❤️❤️Everyone loved it and it looked soo beautiful.Also it was fresh,spongy and yummiest.All the comments about it were so good.I was so impressed😍Highly recommended for those who loves to taste delicious cakes for reasonable price.Also they delivered the cake to my friend's address on time,fulfilling all my needs & wishes what I asked for and more.THANK YOU SO MUCH for your great service of Dark Essence Coffee Shop & all the staff for your kind,polite customer service❤️(Sorry for the delay in commenting on this)

The place is next to a busy main road, but with a totally calm ambience. A nice place to take rest while traveling and to have a great meal or a refreshing drink

Food was Great.. Ambience could have been slightly improved. Service was excellent from the arrival. The best Chicken and Cheese Koththu we had in a while. Convenient location infront of Kandy Road. Shady Car Park. Food was really good..Owner happily acknowledge our feedback regarding the illumination of Washroom. Food preparation was fast and hygiene was maintained well along with covid 19 precautions.

Very nice cafe for evening snacks, tea or coffee. Large selection in the menu and excellent service by staff. Cappuccino and sandwiches are great in taste.

A nice cafe to have a tea or a meal. Very calm and quite even if it is situated near Kandy Colombo road(A1 road). The meals are fine sometimes the amount of salt they use for meals are high. No any other complaints. I recommend this place to anyone who travel in A1 route.

Wonderful place, and have great foods, samdwit, smoothies, and most importantly REAL COFFEE. You can have medium, Dark or Expresso coffee from this place. Highly recommended.

Dark Essence is my one stop coffee shop on my way to Colombo and back to Kandy. it's a nice cozy place with plenty of parking space and not crowded like other places on the way. it has a good collection of food such as burgers, hotdogs, submarines and beverages like tea, coffee and soft drinks you can choose from. my favorite is the capuccino with burgers. they serve kolakanda in the mornings.
