Beautiful place I must say. By looks it’s authentic Indian. We had Kadhai Paneer which was ok. Dal was bic. Assorted bread basket had the best Missi Roti. Chicken was also ok. Not too great but yeah in case you want Indian food you can visit this place!!

The staff is very rude. The supervisor judges the customers by their appearance and decides if they can pay for the food or not. They don’t even offer a seat or a menu until they are satisfied that the customers are well-dressed and wealthy.

While searching for a good place to takeaway Indian food for dinner we found this restaurant. We didn't realize it was a hotel until we reached there. Google location seems wrong. We walked into their Indian Restaurant located near The Grand hotel reception. It was crowded with guests but surprisingly staff helped us to order our takeaway. We ordered rasam and mango juice while waiting for our food. But our order reached us before we finished our drinks. Our family was overwhelmed by their mutton biryani and the portions were also great. Next day before leaving Nuwaraeliya we went to dine in for lunch and had mutton biryani, Naan and Chicken Tikka masala which were all great. In the mock tail section I recommend 3 letter mocktail (can't remember the name). My wife is a Rasam fan and it was highly recommended by her if you like rasam. Location is also very beautiful and staff is 200% great. Planning to stay at the grand hotel in the future.

Best experience in Sri Lanka so far. The food tasted great, service with a smile and they were singing in the kitchen when cleaning up. They are clearly proud of their work. Highly recommended, you will not regret it. Open kitchen and it looked very well and organized. They are happy to recommend you a meal that suits your level op spicy πŸ˜‰ after the meal they were also happy to order a tuktuk for us. Thanks for a great night!

Delicious food, polite and very qttentive staff, and surprisingly very affordable. We loved it so much the first time that we had to eat here again! . Unfortunately, I now have to add that the second time we ate here, the service was very slow. Our meal took one and half hour and still nothing. We left upset and angry. This is not what we expected from Grand Hotel.. That's why I changed 5 stars to 1.

Fantastic Indian food, the taste is authentic. Excellent customer service despite the difficulties during the peak. North Indian veg/non-veg dishes and the Indian breads are superb. Can be crowded, have to wait to be seated and a considerable time is taken to deliver the orders - specially for dinner during the season. So you won't get the value for money, considering the high prices. Still the food quality and taste make the place attractive. Best place for Indian food in the town!

Great service (Anthony) and great food. As a foreigner and foodie, I would like to have a degustation menu as many decent restaurants around the world have. This way I could try more dishes (of chef recommendations) and without leaving the food cause of ordering too much.

We had a delicious meal here a few days ago, the chicken tikka lababdar and the chicken makhani were really tasty!! We also had steamed rice, a naan bread and a roti which complimented the curries well. The service was really good and the staff were all helpful and friendly.

Omg! Everything was just delicious. Me and my family, we were all super hungry when we got there, the restaurant staff was very friendly and welcomed us even without having a prior reservation made! We ordered their chicken biriyani, butter naan, chicken tikka masala and ended with a sweet and yummy gulab jamun!

It looked really nice and luxury from start, but the food was average (I can compare it to Vegetarian Hotel place in Nuwara Eliya). The staff was nice and helpful but there was so many people that the service was very slow and we weren’t able to order for second time. I would give it a second chance but we are leaving Nuwara Eliya today. So try it, but don’t be surprised. It wasn’t worth the money.

Starting with the warm welcome of Mr. Mukarram and Ms. Sudarsane, we had great time and delicious food at Grand Indian. Started with Lentil soup, then we had chicken varieties (Murgh tikka labardar and Afghani), rice and salad, and garlic bread, all were perfectly cooked and delivered. I also want to thank to the cook team, very clean kitchen and professional attitudes.

Incredible food. Over the top service. They sat us without reservations and let us tour the hotel next door as well. Everything was great and I can't say anything less than that!

Lovely collection of miniature High Tea bites in a tea parlour that is less grandiose than the rest of this huge, almost 200 year old, colonial hotel. Excellent service, and one especially humorous waiter, but surprisingly limited selection of teas on offer. Also was great to have an espresso machine espresso after several days of only filter / instant hotel coffee!

We had a very nice lunch here. The food was delicious and very tasty. Praba was especially nice and provided excellent service for us. One of the best Indian restaurants we have visited in Sri Lanka.

Absolutely delicious Indian food! The garlic naan and the sauces on all the dishes were so good we had to over eat and order more. Very friendly and kind staff too. Highly recommend!

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Indian restaurant at the Grand. The food is spectacular and the service is excellent. Our waiter, Praba, could not do enough for us. The food is authentic Indian, the experience is pure joy.

Praba was very kind and attentive, he made sure all our needs were met, he was very professional. Service was also very fast. The Kadhai murg and chicken biryani was very delicious! The aroma and overall taste was exquisite! I'm so happy we discovered this gem as I was craving some Indian food. The cheese naan was also made to perfection. The mango lassi was thick and tasty, just like my ex wife. πŸ₯πŸ₯ If you're looking to satisfy your Indian cuisine craving you have come to the right place. Enjoy the amazing cuisine πŸ‘β€οΈ

We had high expectations and we were really disappointed. This food was β€œOK” but nothing more than that, sadly. The salad we ordered came after 45-50 minutes, way after the food arrived, after we reminded the waiter for 3 times. When the salad arrived, we saw it has no curd (it was written on the menu), and when we asked the waiter (who probably didn’t really understand English) he said the salad comes with no cheese. The place is the most expensive place we visited in Sri Lanka, but we don't think it was worth it. More over, the prices in the restaurant are more than twice as high as the prices on the online menu.

Absolutely delicious Indian food! So much flavour & such good value. The staff were wonderful, Praba was particularly friendly & made us feel incredibly welcome and well looked after! Would 100% recommend going to this restaurant during your trip to Nuwara Eliya.

My favorite place in Sri Lanka. I came back first time in 2018 and loved it and the restaurant keeps with the same lovely vibe. Anthony is very kind and everything was perfect. I totally recommend it.

Very authentic Indian with a large and diverse menu. I enjoyed sitting outside and had excellent service from all of the waitstaff. They provided recommendations and were very attentive.

Service was great and food was tasty but we ordered no spicy and it was a bit spicy.... Prices are high but of course the restaurant is a high level restaurant. You have parking where you can leave your vehicle without any problem.

If your in Nuwara Eliya and looking for an excellent place to induldge in some scrupscious Indian cuisine come down to the Grand Indian which is done by the Grand Hotel. I especially recommend you to request for Anthony since he is a brilliant host for your table, he has a great personality and a superb sense of humour rate him 100/100 for sure.

😠 Disappointing experience. The food court had 5-6 chefs + support kitchen staff. The floor was manned by at least 4 service staff. It was 4 of us on our table. There may have been 3-4 people dining at the court when we were there. Put this into perspective when reading about our experience. An unco...
