Hideout Lounge, Kandy is a fantastic spot tucked away from the city's hustle and bustle. It's an ideal place to unwind, enjoy delicious food and grab a quick drink. The atmosphere is top-notch, creating a chill vibe that sets the perfect mood. The staff is friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. While the food and liquor prices are slightly higher, the trendy and unique ambiance makes it worth the visit. Hideout Lounge is truly an amazing place to escape and relax.

So this is the best of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Srilanka. The service was perfect and outstanding, very fast and we felt at home, food was amazing, served hot and fresh. We had a very warm welcome from Neil he took very good care of us. I really recommend this restaurant for tourist and locals.

Went there for lunch. Such a cozy place to hangout. Food was good. Fish and wedges dish was tasty. The drinks were good. The pizza crust was a bit hard though but it was fine. Situated in front of the Kandy Garden Club tennis courts. We almost missed the place. Not sure whether there's parking space available but the gates were locked. However, the atmosphere is great. Great food. Highly recommended.

One of the cool cafes available in Kandy. The food prices are high and the potion is not in to the expected level. But somehow the taste of the food is so good and the staff is very friendly. Vehicle parking facilities are available in here with a minimum quantity. But it is a plus point for the Hideout lounge as, most of the cafes in Kandy does not have parking facilities for their customers. The architecture of the place is so cool and mixed with a different vibe. The two cute bullmastiffs’ are adorable. The doggies also doing a great service for the customers who visit a hideout lounge with a simple tail wagging and greetings from the wet noses. Highly recommend the place to visit for a quick snack and have a drink with the buddies at the evening.

This for me was definitely the best place I found to eat in Kandy, I returned many times trying a number of dishes and working my way through the menu. The staff are absolutely amazing, all very friendly, attentive and always smiling and having a little chat, greet you on arrival and always say goodbye when leaving. Has a great atmosphere and many different seating areas, on weekends it gets busy so would recommend reserving a table but if not they will do everything they can to accommodate you. Groove night on Fridays and live music on Saturdays. You definitely don’t want to miss this place if you are in Kandy. I can recommend the full Monty breakfast which they changed up a bit for us as vegetarian, creamy mushroom pasta delicious, black pumpkin curry omg amazing, pizza ( they are massive) and hand cut wedges are to die for 👍

Having dinner with my wife at Hideout lounge was a wonderful experience. The ambiance, delicious food, and great company made the evening special. I tried Devilled Chicken for the first time here and yes, it was awesome. My wife also liked the LIIT cocktail prepared by them. The restaurant houses a beautiful dog who roams around the eating place. Being a dog owner, this little add was cherry on top for me. We enjoyed sharing stories and laughing together, creating beautiful memories. The added touch of a refreshing drink elevated the dining experience. It was a perfect evening spent with the person I love the most.

Delicious vegan food. There are three entrees, and after having one, I will be back to try the other two without a doubt! Service was excellent, and the atmosphere enjoyable and laid back with an upscale vibe. Highly recommended.

Nice cozy place with great atmosphere. The vibe of this place really calms you down, help you relax and enjoy time with your friends. The staff was friendly and service was fast. I went for lunch with my friends for the first time and we were really enjoying the place. However we were disappointed by the food. We ordered the Creamy chicken spaghetti and Indonesian cuisine. They tasted alright. But they were clearly overpriced when compared to other restaurants in Kandy. I have had the same dish with same quality ingredients, with better taste and bigger portion sizes to lesser price (Rs. 700-1000 less). Hence I am giving food 2. Before ordering we asked about the portion size and the staff told us it's single portion, but looking at the price we hoped it would taste superior to justify the higher price.

Really good atmosphere and top notch service. The food here is on point. The pizza is possibly the best bang for the buck. Friday nights 7 PM onwards they have a live music performance with some really good artists. Food and cocktails are a bit pricy but cannot complain about the quality. Overall it was a good experience and can recommend.

Top notch place in kandy that provides a unique experience for both locals and tourists. Variety of food and drinks to choose from. The service is excellent, the staff is friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience and highly recommended. Be mindful if you require parking as there is limited parking slots inside the place approx 6 vehicles. But the staff will assist to park around closer areas.

So happy to discover such a gem in Kandy. The food is very tasty - best pizza I tried in Sri Lanka. The staff is very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is amazing - visited Saturday evening, they had live music and the artist was actually talented 🙂

I recently visited Hideout and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and the staff were polite and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. One area where the restaurant could improve is in their selection of vegan options. While there were a few options available, I would have liked to see more, particularly in the pizza category. As more and more people are choosing to eat a plant-based diet, it would be great to see more vegan options on the menu. However, the most unpleasant part of the visit was the presence of a dog in the restaurant. As a pet owner, I understand that people have emotional attachment with their pets but having a dog in a restaurant is not pleasant, especially for people who are not comfortable around animals. I would suggest the management to reconsider this policy and to keep the restaurant a dog-free zone. Aside from these minor issues, I would recommend this restaurant to others looking for a nice dining experience with fresh and delicious food. And I hope the management will take this feedback in a positive way and make the necessary changes to improve the dining experience for all customers.

Really good chicken burger with fresh crispy wedges. Fresh fruit juices were also tasty and refreshing. Uncle who tended to us was very friendly and familiar, I felt very comfortable there, and the vibe was good. The dogs there are super cute. Super sized yet adorable.

This place is super cool and also offers nice cocktails! It has a hype vibe, without losing a chill and relaxed atmosphere. The chicken burger was really great! Service was also 100 points. We didn’t have the best experience with the prawn curry - no sauce, mainly rice. So wouldn’t recommend that dish, but other than that, come here!

Great service, friendly staff, delicious food, generous portions. Prices are certainly above average, but in general, for certain items it is quite normal. We took pasta, burger, salad, cocktails - we liked everything. Plus live music from 7 p.m. is free. In short, to eat in a pleasant atmosphere is here.

The Hideout has a great location in Kandy. The decor is very clean but totally appropriate and coherent, with great attention to detail. The atmosphere is very relaxed and just right after a long day in the busy city of Kandy. From time to time there is some live music in the evening. Staff is also incredibly attentive and friendly. Since we forgot our mosquito spray, the manager sent a tuck tuck and got it for us. The drinks and food are great - I would definitely go again.

Amazing place near the Kandy lake. The variation of international food and local cuisine offerings, all prepared in a very unique manner, is incredible. Restaurants interior is made with much love to detail and puts the visitors in a very chill out atmosphere. In the weekend there is live music. If not weekend, music selection also great. Food & drinks five stars plus. Service excellent. Definite must Go insider tip.

Food was well worth the price and delicious. Cocktail were a bit priced high but quality was quite good. Friendly and attentive staff even on a busy day. They would go beyond their way to help you with anything you want. Recommend for couples or group of friends to hangout.

We were at the hideout lounge for dinner and we liked the place so we came back again in the morning, delicious food, stunning design (full of locations for photos), we tasted the vegetarian pizza, the fish in tempura with the potato and the pumpkin salad and the brownies and the dishes were very tasty. Definitely a recommended place!!

Value for money: YES We had french kiss(french toast) And an English breakfast ( can't remember the name) Extremely good. I won't think twice to visit that place. Food is really good and clean. Kitchen is clean as well. They have lot of space. You can pick a place that fit your vibe. Staff was extremely friendly. Toilet facilities are there. They have DJ nights. Fridays and Saturdays I think. Can be accessed by a wheelchair. Highly recommended.

If you come to Kandy you need to eat here. We were in Kandy for only 1.5 days and ate 3 meals here. Their food is just delicious and so well made. Everything is locally sourced and fresh and they make their own bread I would highly recommend going for breakfast and dinner. The atmosphere and decors is beautiful. The place is clean and the staff are just so kind and attentive. As well they have a store with such beautiful items be sure to check it out for clothes and great locally made spa beauty products.

The only place in Kandy I could find that opened late. They had nice cocktails, decor and ambience but it's in the pricey side. Didn't try the food but it had other people in there! Fyi kitchen closes at 10 and last drinks at 11pm. I went back on a Friday and it was much busier. I tried the red snapper and mango salsa and it was delicious. Really enjoyed my two times here.

If you're looking for a cozy and inviting spot to grab a bite with friends in Kandy, Sri Lanka, the Hideout Lounge is definitely worth considering. The restaurant boasts a beautifully designed interior that immediately draws you in, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The food portions at the Hideout Lounge are definitely on the generous side, so you won't leave feeling hungry. However, the limited menu card might be a downside for some people. If you're a pizza lover, you'll be pleased to know that their pizza is 14 inches and loaded with cheese. But, the taste of other toppings on the pizza could have been better.

Such a great find! Visited this restaurant during my short stay in Kandy and loved it! The food was amazing - I had the burger and my boyfriend had the fish and chips. Although it’s a little bit more expensive than other places we’ve seen around this area, it was definitely worth it. Would really recommend!

Great atmosphere, really cool setup. It was quiet when we went but can imagine it would be the place to be in peak season. The cocktails were 10/10, great range and delicious. The food was decent, we ordered karrage chicken to share for entree which was really nice but covered in a mayonnaise. We would’ve preferred it on the side to dip in but that’s personal preference. We ordered a pizza which was really yummy and HUGE but if you’re after a traditional italian style pizza you won’t find it here. Staff were all really helpful and lovely. I definitely recommend coming here if you visit Kandy for some drinks and food.

Went there for lunch with my family. Previously gone there when it was known as Ivy Bank Guest House. Price is bit on the higher side. But, wonderful location and the food is tasty. Highly Recommended. Specially for our Foreign Friends who are looking for international A' la carte menus. I assume during the dinner time the place must be super cool with a nice ambience.

Lovely place with live music and tasty food. Stylish design, clean toilets, friendly staff, normal prices. We took mango prawns and beef, a bit spicy. Milkshakes were perfect! Too much oil in prawns snakes.

Cozy restaurant….we loved the atmosphere and felt like home. The staff were very friendly especially Ruwan and Sanjaya. Ruwan the bartender has super skills. All the cocktails we had we perfect to taste. The presentation was eye catching… keep up the good work ! Ruwan was so polite he made sure we all felt comfortable. The owner of the restaurant was there too he too is a very down to earth awesome human. He took the time to speak to us made sure everything was in order. We decided to go to the place because of reviews, so we would like to share an honest one. The place looks good, but prices are quite high. Also, they offer western food, but it’s quite different from what one can expect. We ordered two burgers. The burger is not grilled (I guess fried) and contains a lot of spices, as well as carrots(!). A waiter came to us to ask if we liked everything and when we said that we are not happy with food, they didn't change anything, only twice other waiters came up and asked the same thing and offered nothing in return. "Did you like the food?" - "No" - "Maybe you did?" - "No" - "We hope you liked it". In general, the place is not bad, with a nice interior, but the high prices create certain expectations that we did not meet.

So nice place. It was busy as usual when we went there. Interior design was so beautiful. Guys at there work hard to give our oder as soon as possible. Peanut butter brownie milk shake that I had so tasty. And I had a vegan burger. It was not nice for me. If you are vegetarian or vegan, they don’t have much options. But place was so nice, staff was friendly, good service, clean and tidy. Good place to hanging around with friends or family.

Beautiful hideout cafe hidden in the heart of Kandy town. We visited on a Friday night, and it was one of the coziest cafes I’ve ever been to. The cocktails and food were really yummy, and we felt it was a great value for the money. They even had a DJ playing great music, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Experience: I went there last night with my wife and man what a place, you’ll get great vibes here. The owner “Lanka” is an unbelievably humble guy. The staff is extremely polite & attentive. You’ll be really lucky if you get to see owner’s cute dog. Food & Drinks : They have a vast variety of menu and everything I tried, tasted so great and fresh, the beverage menu is vast and you should try some cocktails. Ambience: The ambience is really unique with great music. Overall: A must visit, pocket friendly place for everyone. This place was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful place with great ambience. The menu was compact and easy to choose from. A very chilled place to have a drink and grab something to eat right nearby the Kandy lake. The kitchen staff does a great job at sending out top notch food and the service is also quick and efficient. Try the potato wedges which are very crispy. Really good experience and would recommend for anyone for a nice dining experience.

Went here with some friends a couple of nights ago, a really cute place with a nice chilled vibe. The staff are super friendly and the chicken burgers were delicious! Great place with good vibes and drinks. But sometimes busy and they could offer you to sit inside (which provides much poor vibes, doesn't have music and lacks interior details). Great place if you miss some good places during traveling the Sri Lanka.

This place is amazing! The food is delicious, the staff is helpful, attentive, and friendly. Specially "Lankanath" owner was was awesome. This is the best place in Kandy, thanks to the overall atmosphere, food, and service. Also, their are two sweet bullmastiff dogs in the bar that love pets and head scratches. Please do yourself the favor of choosing Hideout Lounge for food and drinks. The vibe is unmatched, You will not be disappointed!

Beautiful decor, super-friendly staff and cutest two dogs that seemed to be in a permanent siesta when I visited. Food was really good with several vegan/vegetarian options. Portions not the biggest but might have been the dishes I ordered (salad/dessert) prices were normal for a tourist focussed establishment.

Service was incredible here, was checked on multiple times and anytime I asked for something it was brought to me very quickly with a smile! I had the cheeseburger and two margaritas. I was impressed with the taste of all items, just wished there were a few more fries! The margaritas both came a little sour for me, but the staff brought a little extra simple syrup and then they were perfect! The place is super cute and romantic, cozy and fun! I got lucky to be there on Valentine's Day and there was a DJ that was really awesome. Pink lights. The vibe was good. Great place to meet travelers from all over the world. Recommend for a relaxing night for sure.
