What is wrong with your hotel and staff? Worst experience and food. We came from Colombo for a nice dinner. But this is how you all treated us. The most unprofessional waiter gave us the menu to order. But no matter what we asked, he said, "It's taking a long time, it's taking a long time." Zero politeness, zero hospitality, hardly know how to talk to a customer. After much discussion we ordered our food. Nasigorang made from samba rice was brought to us. Then he brought us steamed rice which I think is their staff rice. It was white and raw. Sticky and mushy. The seafood platter had prawns that had been cooked days ago and it smelled and tasted old. Still we didn't complain and we had to eat this food because there was no one to look after us. After all he brought us the bill. The cuttlefish was 1300 on the menu card but he had charged 2500. Almost every item was priced above the menu price. Then we asked him the reason. He simply said, the menu he gave us is an old menu and there is a new menu and he gave us the new menu with new prices after we got everything we had. After a discussion, after all he brought us a second bill and caused us great inconvenience. Please do not do these to your local clients. We come there to have a pleasant day and to have a pleasant service. Do not treat people like this.

The conditions in which Oak Ray Hotels & Resorts expects travelers to spend 7-14 days in Quarantine in Wadduwa, Sri Lanka are regrettable. This is unacceptable and I would suggest to do your research before choosing a hotel to stay if traveling to Sri Lanka. There seems to be blood on the blankets of the beds, also the fridge is full of mold. It seemed like the bed had not been done by cleaning personal but by the last person who stayed in this hotel room. Room is also full of mosquitoes and there is no sign of maintenance whatsoever. The floor is oily and sticky, not sure when was the last time the room was properly cleaned. You might not get Covid but you will catch something else for sure in this conditions.

Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Good location for family and friends. Both private pool and the main pool has to be maintained.if possible more variety of foods could be added to the buffet. Highly recommend for a budget hotel with all the facilities which we need.

Fake advertising! Totally not worth it for the price you pay for it! It's not at all like the way they advertise on the internet! We had a disastrous experience there! When arrived there, no one was there to even unload our bags, the state of the hotel is terrible! The water in the swimming pool was so unclear and muddy looking as if it wasn't cleaned for months! Hotel looked very poorly maintained! We didn't even to check in! Our family vacation became a stressful day trying to switch to another reliable hotel with limited time!

Hotel is in very bad condition and needs a lot of renovating. Cupboards were full of dust. Bathroom door locks weren't working. Central A/C was not working. Food was horrible and bland. No variety at all. They do not top up the buffet once the meals are over. They just remove the entire chafing dish once it's over. Overall, would not recommend

The beach which is in front of the hotel Oak Ray Haridra is very attractive . The hotel is very luxury to have a nice vacation . The pool is good for enjoy . The food is delicious at the hotel's restaurant Parking available . Visit and enjoy .

Location: Just 1 hour from Colombo at a convenient location by the sea Rooms: We stayed at the luxury room. Very spacious. Only issue was the air conditioner. Even with the maximum power, the room was hot in the afternoon. Food: Great Pool: Just 4 feet deep with a baby pool. Excellent Staff: Friendly and helpful

This place is really nice and calm! Rooms are spacious and beautiful! We got the ocean view room, and the view from the room is really calm and beautiful! Though there were only few guests, they managed to serve the buffet with a considerable variety of food and beverages. Hotel staff greet and welcome customers so well. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with a large bath tub. Food was delicious

Place was excellent. Clean nice and new. Only thing is we were there for a particular event and the crew was not prepared for the crowd. There was a wait of more than 15 minutes twice where plates weren't available on the buffet table. There was another instance where chicken wasn't available on the buffet table for more than 20 minutes and people were in queue all that 3...

Awesome hotel with great view. Close to main road and opposite to wadduwa beach. Room was very clean and fresh. Room has awesome view of beach. Receptionist and all other staff were very helpful. Meal also very delicious and clean. a la carte menu items were little bit expensive and recommended go with meal plan with room. Pool is very clean and safe to bath (less deep). Highly recommended. There is one drawback also. AC wasn't good enough. They are using center AC system and it will take long time to fill AC in room. And AC wasn't worked during power cut time srilanka.

The staff, Mr Jagath and his team did a fabulous job in taking care of our stay. The food was absolutely delectable. I highly recommend this hotel.

I was in this hotel for 14 days of quarantine and On arrival I was given a room which was very bad in condition. The bathroom shower and the sink tap was broken and the bathroom itself was looking a bit unclean. After complaining to the management I was provided with a better room with a good bathroom and a sea view which was a plus point. However I felt sorry for the others who ended up in similar rooms. WiFi was very poor and was down most of the times hence I recommend you having your own data. The food provided was not Star quality and tasted average which was not worth the money spent at all . All in all it was a bad experience and I will not visit nor recommend it .

I was in this hotel for one night stay with my family and friends few days ago. One main thing I observed that the staff was very friendly and supportive. Rooms and foods were good. Nice pool and calm environment. We really enjoyed the stay.

The hotel is located on the Wadduwa beachfront. Located in a very beautiful location and I have an average experience with this hotel. I went for a day out with my family. The swimming pool was dirty, the room was not well-cleaned. Further, the buffet was average and refilling did not happen properly. There were plenty of coconuts on the coconut trees which is not safe for the guests. However, the staff was good. I feel the standard need to improve to attract guests to the hotel.

We Stayed at Oak Ray Beach on Full Board for One Night. Overall the Experience is Good. The Staffs Were Friendly and Helpful Weekend Price was Reasonable. Front Office was attentive and helpful. We also Had a chance to Meet the Chef He Was Very Humble and Polite to Discuss the Buffet and Menu with Us and was listening well to our review on food. The Only Downside of Our Stay is the Accommodation. Room(s) need a Good Renovation. Intercom was Not Working, Lights were Dim and Some Not Working. Their Large Lengthy Pool needs a complete makeover. Tiles were coming off, broken wall barriers etc. although they have an experienced Pool Manager Gamini. Garden Should be Landscaped Restaurant needs an Interior Makeover too. Other Than That Nothing Much to Complain. A Good Location by the Beach if they could address all the Minor and major things this place is One of the Recommended Places around Wadduwa.

Very friendly, Kindness, Helpful staff. the hotel located is very beautiful location & very calm. we got the wonderful experience during days. Our stay in The Oak Ray Haridra Beach Resort is a very relaxing one and we get a free upgrade to Ocean View Suit. Room is clean and massive it had all the amenities we need to spent our holiday. Resort got a nice pool but we didn't get chance to dip into the pool because of the raining. During our stay they offer buffet meals for dinner and breakfast, Foods are delicious but spread is minimum, Important fact is most of the hotel have buffet but food not tasty at all but in Oak Ray Haridra story is totally different because their every food item is very tasty and cooked well. Finally the staff is very friendly and kind enough to fulfill all our needs. Date of stay: October 2022

I traveled in March 23. The stay was good. Housekeeping is very bad and poor. The hotel staff welcomed us with warmth and had veg food specially prepared for us. Kitchen staff is very cordial and pleasant. The view from the rooms is spectacular where we can see the beach. The Swimming pool is big and clean. Sunset is a must watch here. Location is superb.

One of the best resorts I have stayed. Beach view from the room is incredible. Food is delicious. Chef made Indian dishes for dinner and breakfast specially for us so that we don't get disappointed with the a la carte menu.

Very good staff. Food tasty but not much of a spread. Rooms are average. Dessert spread is very few. Very good location. They can improve because F&B Mr Vithanage is excellent.

Had a terrible time at Oak Ray Beach hotel. Staff and the service is good. And they are available 24hrs Location is quite and clam But there was a electricity breakdown around mid night and it took nearly two hours to fix it. And also time to time the electricity was break down in the room, Its really hard to stay without AC and Electricity. And also so many mosquitoes inside the room (think due to electricity issue) but the worst experience ever😔 Room and Bathroom is nice and clean, but the fridge ( mini bar ) was powered off. We have to plugged it Also there is no square pin plug point’s available in the room, you better bring a multi plug. Food: tasty, but there is no much variations. And the first star hotel that do not have egg omelettes for the breakfast. Really disappointed ☹️ Not worth for money!!!! Actually it’s my first stay at OakRay hotel chain. I think I better skip the OakRay chain. The worst experience ever had in my life in a 3 Star hotel

My bf and I went for a day out and we had an amazing time there😍. The hotel looks very beautiful and elegant. The staff was so welcoming. The lunch buffet was really worth it. I would say that this place is a great choice for anyone💯

Great hotel with great views and facilities. I had a massage and it was amazing. After the massage the masseuse Anushka Fernando gave me tea and Aloe Vera for my burnt back. They’re so attentive and welcoming. Thank you!!

It was a great stay at Oak Ray Beach Resort. Friendly and very supportive staff. We noticed that they were always with happy mood even they were very busy. Kitchen staff always keen about re-filling and Restaurant staff attend to the guests very quickly. Superb buffet with varieties. Well maintained property. Spacious Rooms, Garden and Pool very clean. Checked into Oak Ray Beach this afternoon and so far I've loved it! The ambience could definitely improve but the service has been pretty great so far. The Dinner buffet had a bbq station which was pretty nice!

Super view ....very relaxing place to enjoy ....friendly staff always helpful ....smiling ....rooms are well cleaned...overcome with food variety on saturday night...actions stations...whole baked fish with mongolian actions superb...will come back soon.... thank you all....🥰

We stayed in the presidential suite which has its own pool and tub in the room. Sanjaya at the front desk assisted us during the check in process and was very helpful during our stay. I was also very impressed by one of the F&B who's name I think is Hasha who went above and beyond to make our dining experience enjoyable. Overall the food was great, the room was pleasant, the views were amazing!

The pool was absolutely disgusting because the water was not filtered and it was slimy. The bath ware in every room was rusted and not well kept at all. The air conditioning did not work. The food was HORRIBLE. Take my advice and don’t even think about going there. Oh and the elevators were not working so we had to carry our bags up many flights of stairs. Mind you, none of the staff helped with this. This was an office trip.

The staff was nice. Food was good. The staff went out of their way to make my daughter's birthday an extra special one by giving a yummy cake with lit candles for her to blow. Pool is nice and big. Only draw back was the room AC was not enough at all

It's a great place if you want to spend quality time with your loved ones. Best part is their hospitality. Special mention to Mr Supipi and Gishantha Withana . They arranged an awesome table near to the Ocean for Candle Light Dinner on the occasion of my 1st Wedding Anniversary . My wife loved it. They prepared cake too for the occasion. It was lovely.

Resort has a beautiful pool and nice location, Staff were fully prepared to welcome any guests regardless of local or foreigners....... Need more detail the rooms, Friendly staff, Food was nice Tea didn't have good creamer ( I'm a chai lover) Overall nice time spent........ I personally encourage the staff to rebuild Srilankan tourism where as the hotel in need of guests badly............to run such a beautiful venue.

We stayed for one day in this hotel but the experience we had was fantastic...the most impressive thing is the hospitality of the staff..they were very helpful all the way..the hotel is in a nice cool environment and the view from the balcony is spectacular...also not to forget the delicious meals as well..overall a superb experience

It's a super chill place for a stay. Have to say the food isn't amazing. If you have had food from places like "Gami Gedara" where you can experience legit Sri Lankan food, you'd be very disappointed of the food taste. Place is super clean and neat. They have both Seaview and Garden view rooms. Anyhow, only the Seaview rooms have Bathtubs with both cold and hot water. The rooms are super comfy and cosy. Have pretty much everything you'd need. Overall, good place to relax. There's plenty of places to look around. Beach is clean if you wanna hang around there. Pool is huge and no deep-end. So, kids can have a fun time with out any risk. There's a shallow section as well. Staff is friendly. Really helpful and supportive.

Great location, spacious, superb place to enjoy the sun, sea and pool. The food was delicious, and even though the occupancy was low, the buffet was really good for all 3 meals. We stayed for 3 days and never had a concern food wise. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms need an uplift as it has been closed for a while during Covid. Nevertheless, no major issues with it. Definitely going back.

Cannot recommend, the services was not great. I checked in to this property for a purpose of day usage I struggled to locate the property for half and hour. There’s no proper sign boards. Also the staffs trying to do their level best but lack of trainings they couldn’t deliver it properly. I paid nearly 10k to the property which I feel waste and not worthy. They Limit your water usage and food was not great. No proper billing system. seems I was enter into some small Lodgy places.

We stayed here from 31th Dec to 3rd Jan 2020, this hotel's staff ensured every thing to ruin our stay and 31st celebration. We were traving in a group of 15 pax, our terrible experience started right from check-in process. We reached this property at around 2pm, we had to wait for two hours for our rooms, with different issues in each room ie no drinking water, no soap, no towels etc. Our ocean view rooms were spacious, had great view, but let down by hotel staff. New year gala dinner, as they called it, was the worst we ever had in last many years, lousy food spread, two guys playing music, which they called 'BAND'. Items mentioned on the gala dinner menu where just for the name sake, no cocktails were provided to us. Hotel staff got drunk towards midnight, couple of them even asked us to give few drinks. We stayed for three nights, other two days also food was really bad,mostly repeated menu. One of day when we came back after sightseeing, we had to call staff for clearing the room, though they were given keys to makeup our rooms when we left in the morning. The GM of this property (I guess his name was Edward) might be the reason of this state of affairs, we took many issues to him, he had not taken any corrective action so that it is not repeated. Stay away from this property!!

Excellant place for family outing and fb stay, I booked triple room but they upgraded it to a luxury suite on my arrival. Also i was there before the check in time and they were generous enough to onboard me early. Appreciate their hospitality and support through out our stay

We spent two days and one night at Oak Ray Beach Hotel. We received a very warm welcome at the entrance. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I should thank to the staff from manager to cleaning service for doing their work with perfection. Room has awesome view of beach. The swimming pools were great and nice garden with coconut trees to relax. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent. Meal also very delicious and clean. There was nothing to complain. A well spent weekend at this resort. I would rate five starts for their hospitality. Finally don't forget to go to the beach and see the sun set at the evening.

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the quality of service your hotel offered me the day of my wedding.. It was a most wonderful wedding celebration! The setting, the decorations, the food were all fabulous! Thank you for keeping us all on track.. This definitely added to the excellent service of the staff. I will definitely recommend.
