We had my brother's homecoming celebration at their reception hall and they provided a wonderful service. Food was really good and considering the price hike, they honered the original quote they gave us. Also, they have amazing rooms and a rooftop pool with an amazing view of the country side.

Lovely hotel with great food and excellent hospitality. Loved the view, it has a great view of the mountains. Nice place to stay in Kandy. Would highly recommend it.

The beds are so comfortable and you can get an amazing nights sleep and the food and service are amazing! The lime juice is really something to be admired!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rivendell over the holidays! We arrived in the middle of the night and they kindly provided a fruit plate so we could sleep in past the normal breakfast hours. And breakfast when we made it to the top floor dining room was excellent every day - some days were Sri Lankan, other days Indian (or a combo of both) and some we opted for simple toast and eggs. The staff were a highlight, very friendly and happy to help when needed. My other favorites were the rooftop with views of fruit bats flying overhead after sunset (we don’t get that in California!) and the large doors that fully opened onto the balcony in our room - perfect for soaking in the tropical scene. It was an easy tuk tuk into the city center and would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Kandy!

I had a wonderful 2 weeks at Rivendell Hotel. The staff was excellent and really made our stay comfortable. Great views from our balcony and the rooftop pool. Food was amazing! Great location and easy to get to downtown Kandy.

Not clean at all the towels provided to us were unclean. The food doesn't taste good I have no idea how they managed to become a 4 star hotel

Nice and brand-new hotel with modern facilities. Rooms clean and spacious. Staff is helpful and friendly. We had their breakfast and we served it jn a decent manner. Breakfast we had was Indian style and we enjoyed it very much. Thanks for Hotel manager Mr Uditha Ekanayake served us well. We thank him again for his calm and supportive service.

Good food and good service staff.Food so deliouse specialy the biriyani.i dont know whos made it but it was so delicious.thanks for the chef who made it. I have visit there for three four days.i have seen your kitchen staffs and front staffs as well.same faces i can remember them too.But i worrying some kitchen and front staff looked so tired but they pretended to be okay.sorry to saying that.Their hospitatlity is excelent.But think more than your staff as well as you think about your hotel. Rivendell Hotel is good but the location may be discouraging to the enthusiastic tourist. Food is great, waiters and staff are exceptionally warm and helpful. The stairs at the entrance may be supplemented with a small elevator because the slope is simply too high for aged tourists or those with locomotor difficulties. Do visit the terrace for a wow-derful look.

Very nice and quiet environment. Especially the front office staff is very friendly, they always provide their service with a smile on their face. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The foods are also very delicious. Hope to go again.

Wonderful Experience with some good fine dining. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Hotel staff is very kind. Good food with some exceptional food variety. And the view is best. I would love to visit again!!

The culinary offerings at Rivendell hotel exceeded my expectations. The on-site restaurant served a delectable range of local delicacies, and each meal was a gastronomic delight. The attentive staff and cozy ambiance made dining here a pleasure.

The welcome was a sweet one. But on entering the room we were too unhappy. But the staff, specially the manager was very humble and helpful. He make sure that you got the room better then the last one. The overall hotel staff was very courteous. The buffet was scrumptious with a wide variety and good taste. The room had no view but the view from the restaurant and pool was amazingly beautiful.

Went there for a wedding in a weekday. Convenient location to travel from Kandy City. * Parking is not adequate for a larger gathering. You have to park in the side of the road. 5th floor is the Reception hall. Other floors are for the in house guests as rooms. * One, two way elevator for all floors. * Location is beautiful. Surrounded by greenery. * Food was average. * Reception hall can accommodate around 60 at max.

Nice large rooms. Comfortable bed. Clean toilets. One point to note is that the rooms does not have a mirror.

Today had a wedding party of my sisters wedding function,it was terrible service & foods also poor,normally every srilanken wedding serve few vegetables curies & plain rice but only had few chinees food items only.that also tasteless.to fride rice had some fish and meet items stuffed. Wash rooms also same story,unclean & so bad smell. They said flower decaration they will arrenge,but before five days to wedding they said to they cant arrenge that,they not agreed to chenge the menu as a customer request,but price was 2500/= but not valid it 500/= I feel they have remain foods in freesers they cook again. I have to say to local & forighners dont go to this place, Terrible,terrible,terrible

Good food and reasonable rates. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Has enough space for parking in front of the hotel. Situated next to mahaweli river. Less choices when it comes to buffet meals. But overall satisfied.
