I had a fantastic experience in this hotel. I especially liked its location and views. It is situated on top of a hill overseeing the beautiful jungle-like forests - just a few kilometers far from the busy Kandy. The landscape surrounding the resort is really beautiful. It’s the perfect place if you like a peaceful and beautiful environment after a day of tourism in the city. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nestled amidst Hills, this small hotel is a wonderful property. But the room is not upto the mark. It’s too small and stuffy. Service is good and people at the hotel are very nice.Asanka and Harsha Vardhana Took good care of us. We had some traditional Sri Lankan food and fish curry, which was very good. The hotel serves continental breakfast. The place is however far away from candy city. Accessibility score: two on five. The place is not accessible with wheelchair, and because of the shape of the Hotel, it is difficult for persons with blindness to navigate. The rooms in the hotel are comfortable, but not very accessible.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night and we liked our stay very much. The room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and the view from the terrace was best in class. The jungle view was simply spectacular! There’s also a swimming pool where one can relax after visiting Kandy. All in all, we had a wonderful time. Many thanks to the staff for making this experience awesome!

Maintenance: 2/5 - hotel didn't see deep cleaning in a couple of years. Toilets dirty and a bit smelly. Mold on the walls, when you can smell the mold in the hotel it is bad! Lots of hanging cables from the walls, including lighting in the pool (looked outright scary). Beds dirty, under beds - not cleaned for a year or so. Ants. Staff: 3/5 - very nice people but not very competent in running and maintaining the hotel. There 4 employees plus gardener and cleaning lady and 4 families in the hotel and in the same all the issues as described. How come?... They were helpful saving our bus from a demise of falling from the cliff at their exit road - kudos for that. Breakfast: 0/5 - literally every day for 5 days we got dull and cold salty omelettes, same salty sausages (I am sure we got the same for previous days warmed again), cold boiled eggs, pink jam of unknown origin, some fruits, vegetable spread (instead of butter) and low quality toast bread. Ordering something else was not possible due to lack of ingredients. Looks like they have only eggs in the kitchen. Don't believe in the breakfast pictures shown in other reviews... (see picture, it does not really show the issue but gives you a gist.. ) Location: 3/5 - very nice view but very difficult access. Our minibus almost fell over the small cliff when taking us back (see picture)

Although it is pretty far from the city center, the view is spectacular. The host is nice. In one morning we found a gecko in the room, but this is sri lanka.

The location was far out of the city, but the hotel looking itself was very nice. The room did not have an air conditioner and there were other rooms available that did. The communication was very poor as they wanted to charge more money. Some of the food was good, but the chicken was not! They never came back to check on us, we had to find a person who worked in the hotel to help us. When the wait staff returned, they said they didn’t bring the rest of our food because they ran out. Mind you, there was only one other family staying in the entire hotel besides us! Once again throughout the entire stay the communication was very bad. Not a place that I would ever stay at!

We spent a three lovely nights in The Grand Hills Hotel. The hotel is located on the top of.the hill offering you breathtaking view. Hotel is located only few minutes from a City Centre, You will find here great stuff, happy to help you in fullfilling your needs like transport. We were 9 prs group and Hotel manager organised us perfect transport to the city and later to our next destination. Rooms are big, comfrortable and clean. Don't forget to swim in a pool with the most amazing view ❤️👍. I really recommend this place. ❤️

The grand hills is beautiful. It has a beautiful view of the destne forests, the accommodation is new, modern, clean. The approach of the staff is professional, yet human and friendly. The cuisine is excellent. The garden of the hotel is great with a swimming pool and deckchairs. A luxury hotel in the interior of Sri Lanka.

It was in the middle of the rainy season. Wind and the rain made the view more glamorous. Had a wonderful relaxing stay here. The breakfast and was really good. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I would go here again if I get the chance.

I booked the place for a week (7days) through Booking.com, and they confirmed the booking as well one day prior I went there. However, after going there, the Hotel Manager informed us that they can give us the room only for four days and because they received another booking from another customer before I booked there. They could have told us before rather than waiting till we go there. So we had to start looking for another place. In the room, the TV was not there. But on the site, it was mentioned. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room. The washroom had two cockroaches. No value for the money spent. The staff was friendly and attentive. They arranged an excellent breakfast. But the items were not consistent all days. Some days the drinks were missing. The check out time was at noon, and we were asked to leave before that because they have been giving priority to their so-called Next customers.

The Grand Hills has amazing location but service and quality is not at all up to standards. We had booked a Family room and we were in touch with Mr.James and Kapila to ensure room is ready . When we checked in the room light was not functioning and the bathroom mat was dirty . The mat was changed on request however the bulb was not as they don’t have replacement . We had placed an order for dinner 1 non veg curry , 1 veg curry , rice and Srilankan roti food was ok we had asked for tomato and onion a small portion was given for which it was charged 4$ which is exorbitant cost . In total the quantity and the cost does not do justice . Post dinner when we entered the 2nd bedroom the bed had cockroaches . There were mosquitos and when asked for vapouriest they said they don’t have . When said why they sent an empty one and we gave it back . Post 30 mins a new vaporiser was given . We could not sleep well due to the hygiene challenge in bed . There were no blankets given it was only given when asked .The bedside drawer had some metal piece broken and kept and not clean when asked Mr.James he said he is not sure. When escalated to Mr.Kapil that we want refund they said they would do for one day as we have stayed for one night. Mr.Kapila also mentioned in call this is the best he could do as we stayed for one night and does not want to discuss further. There was also a comment from Mr.James that Europeans have no problem why we have problem and some Indian family from Mumbai stayed and they had no issue . So raising challenges is not taken in true spirit . Our one night money was refunded however the one night we spent was not in great way. It’s not a place where family would want to spend time with expectation of quality and service . It’s ok who are ready to manage to stay with low service and run down attitude of the place . There is a significant improvement required to establish best clients I hope the review helps and is taken in true sprint

I held a business meeting at The Grand Hills and was impressed by the high standards of professionalism. The staff was attentive, and the facilities were top-notch. My clients were thoroughly impressed, enhancing my company's image.

On our visit to Sri Lanka, my wife and I chose The Grand Hills for our stay. The hospitality was warm and inviting, just like the local culture. The suite was luxurious and spacious, making our anniversary trip even more special.

I just loved my stay at The Grand hills kandy everything from the welcome drink to departure the hotel staff made sure I had a memorable stay. specily manager super Nice The highlight of this Hotel is the location it is situated in, the absolutely stunning view of the Hanthana mountain range. The whole property is very peaceful. and The serene from my room was just amazing. The private balcony will have an amazing view over mountains The room was spacious with a simple yet beautiful setting. The bathroom was so clean and well maintained. The room had all the amenities such an absolutely picture-perfect uninterrupted view and lots of playful monkeys in the jackfruit tree near the pool. You feel so relaxed during your stay. The breakfast & dinner is delicious. Wish I stayed longer but certainly, I will be visiting again, and I highly recommend this place.

The Hotel Manager and staff were friendly and there service were up to stranded and the meals were enjoyable. They do organise tours or transport from the hotel if required.

One of the best place to spend your holiday in Kandy. Food is very tasty. Service person is very kind and humble. Owner also very kind person and helpful. Very good view of Hanthana mountain is available for few rooms. Rooms are equipped with AC, cable tv, hot water and all the things you're looking for. If something is missing they are keen to arrange them asap. Only draw back is the entering road. Don't use Google maps direction for this particular place. Use the road starting near Singer mega and Sampath bank. If any difficulties found, call the owner and get his guidance before entering to the sub road. Recommended this place.

Location was nice. But as we had a large group we have specifically asked for 7 rooms but found they have only 5 rooms. (out of 5:2 were family rooms with 2 smaller rooms with no fans or AC with sharing washrooms) only 2 blankets provided for the family room and in the small rooms in the family room only 1 pillow provided and had to request for additional pillows for which a small pillow below the standard size provided. Before going we have specifically asked whether they provide linen and toiletries. they were not present and had to ask for them for which they have provided only 2 towels for each room and even for the family room same. one room received really bad condition towels. after asking only provided soap and shampoo. No conditioner and no toilet papers provided for any of the rooms. We have asked to prepare some tea for which they have prepared and provided only 10 cups and saucers. They were telling that the locals who came earlier to the hotel have broken the cups and they have only 10 cups which is absurd with a 5 room property. we had to wash and clean the cups after using for rest of our team as well as after tea the area was not cleaned and had to request a broom to do self cleaning as they were not attending on time. The property has forgotten that since 2020 locals were their main income source and they are not friendly and we felt that the attitude is not good. after paying Rs. 75,000 for one night we have expected more service and real welcome. They have prepared dinner for us and have to say that the taste was really good. But we are not satisfied with the taste of the breakfast and they have failed miserably to provide all requested on time (before going we have shared the menu also) according to our request. They do not have a generator and in the evening when asked to prepare tea we were asked "is it possible to wait till current comes" for which I had to ask "is it the only way you can boil water" afterwards only they complied. Pool was good and about 4 ft deep and the kids enjoyed. Anyway as a group the place was selected for our kids to provide the necessary freedom which is not there in a large hotel. It was there and amids all the group enjoyed for which we are greatful. This review is placed to provide an eye opener for the property specially what customer service is and expected.

A friend recommended me this place when I mentioned I was visiting Sri Lanka. Stayed in this villa close to Kandy with my family and friends for three nights. We booked the entire villa as we were a group of 15. communication with the management was very easy and they even picked us up from the airport. We were greeted by the guest relations manager Asanka who gave us tips on what to do and where to visit in Kandy. Even though you think this is located in Kandy , actually it is not and unfortunately public transport is not available to this secluded place. But this was not a big issue as the staff arranged transport whenever we wanted to visit a place in Kandy. Also they went the extra mile and gave us a city tour where we could experience some of the things we would have never seen on our own. Food in the villa was really good (specially their breakfast)also we had no choice because there were no restaurants nearby ,as this is sort of away from the city. sun set was my favorite part since this is not something we experience everyday. Also the cheeky monkeys.Overall it was a good experience staying in this place among the mountains.

    1. First of all we had booked two Standard Deluxe rooms with balcony but instead of giving us those you gave some alternative rooms This was not meeting our expectations. After lot of negotiation with your manager finally the booking was cancelled and 8000 LKR was refunded to us. This is not a favour but a booking commission that was refunded to us. 2. Secondly as soon as we entered the hotel and asked for dinner, he said that they take the last order at 8:00 p.m. which is really disgusting. Then another set of guests come in the timing for the last order changes to 9:00 p.m.. sorry state of affairs at your hotel. 3. Thirdly you have a big menu card out of which 99% of the things are not available and your staff says I can only give you pizza. Not sure why you have such a big menu card when you cannot provide anything for dinner. 4. Wi-Fi at the restaurant does not work. 5. After settling down in the room as soon as he pick up the towel there is a lizard underneath it. No toiletries are provided in the washroom. 6. They serve only limited non veg breakfast only that too only 2 eggs . Above all when the person who is managing the property is extremely rude. This is the ordeal lthat we have to suffer in your hotel.

The worst experience in our 3weeks tour. They didn't want to check in us because they are full, but we had reservation. After a long discuss we got a room which is not clean and there were insects, geccos and cockroaches. They asked prepayment so we didn't received the amount when we checked out earlier when we planned. There weren't hospitality there wasn't clean, it is humiliaton of sri lanka and its hospitality.

It was an exquisite stay at a truly fabulous location. Located high up in the hills and enveloped by nature, the breathtaking views in every direction make this an absolute haven for an unforgettable holiday. Our accommodation featured a generously spacious room that was spotless clean , complemented by a large balcony that offered a stunning vista of the swimming pool and the distant rolling mountains. The staff was an absolute delight—courteous, kind, and exceptionally helpful. The culinary experience was truly exceptional, with an array of fantastic curries of both Sri Lankan and Indian flavors. The breakfast offerings were nothing short of scrumptious. Set in a serene and tranquil environment, it provided the perfect ambiance for a relaxing holiday experience.
