Sudugala falls also known as Galpoththa falls, stands at a height which exceeds 50 meters and a width which exceeds 60 meters. It is also known as “Heightenford Falls” and “Sudugala Falls.” The water of this fall slides over a slanting rock bed. The waterfall ends with a shallow pool about 2 feet deep and is a popular location for children to slide down the rock until they fall into the pool at the bottom. However, this activity is possible only when the water levels are low and is quite risky.

You'll be able to easily find the directions for this beautiful watefall using google map. The place is crowdy even in week days. So I hope you can understand about the weekends. The rock is slippery even in Sunny days. It is too much slippery when it is raining. So please be careful when you walk on that. There are two roads to reach this beautiful destination. One is through pine plantation. If you choose that road you have to be careful about leeches. You can enjoy this waterfall not only from bathing but also from sliding on the waterfall to bottom of it.Please be careful if you do that. Enjoy the nature but please do not put litter everywhere.

One of my favorite waterfall.Sudugala ella (Galpoththa) is most beautiful waterfall with sliding rocks like patna waterfalls.There is a natural pool at the end of the sliding rock and there are some many different natural places available here to visit.

A waterfall in a tributory of Mahaweli river, with multiple cascades forming three base pools safe for bathing. A famous place among travellers for water sliding along the slanted rock wall of the waterfall . Ideal place to enjoy the calm and serene unpolluted atmosphere . However unplanned half built constructions on the bank spoils the overall view.

With stones everywhere not enough to swim. But quite adventures place to bath. You can slide through the rocks and let the water take you down. I tried to slide in the main fall. It was dangerous and deiced not to try again😅 Nice place for even large groups.
