Magnificent temple...an elegant example of Hoysala architecture. People usually visit Belur and Halebeedu. But this should not be missed at any cost. It might seem similar to other famous Hoysala temples, but the sophistication in this temples architecture is wonderful. Also, to mention are Veera Narayana, Krishna and Narasimha's beauty and intricate details. Personally felt a positive vibe here compared to Belur, Halebeedu and Javagal. The priest was very helpful in giving information about the temple and the deities.

Belavadi veeranarayana temple is one of the significant temples constructed by the Hoysalas in the region of Dorasamudra. There are 3 deities inside the temple. Veeranarayana, narasimha and krishna are being worshipped everyday. Archaka told me that ASI had adjudged the idol of Krishna is the most beautiful idol of Krishna in the whole country. As usual, the hoysala architecture is excellent with intricate carvings and majestic Gopuras.

One of the finest sculpted monuments which is unknown to most of the people! If you are visiting Halebidu, you cannot be missing this place. It's an amazing place which has its own restrictions and once you visit here you don't feel like coming out

Very good place to visit. Not so crowded. The work on the temple is astonishing. The site is under ASI. Very well maintained and clean. The priest is very helpful and provides information regarding the temple. He also works as a guide. Recommended to visit atleast once if you are a fan of archeology.

Wonderful experience!! Only 12km away from Halebeedu temple. The temple has unique architecture and a well maintained garden, so greenery all over. Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. A must destination if you're nearby.

Truly stunning and peaceful temple. Worth visit. Very peaceful. The priest was patient enough to explain us the history. The temple is made of sopa stone and molavar deity is said to be of Salagramam stone.

Well maintained, neat and clean surroundings Hindu idols inside the shrine was so clearly visible against light..well explained by priest who was obliging and humble. Architecture and sculpture of this temple still intact and no evidence of attack from enemies. We enjoyed the visit and feel blessed by God veera narayana, yoga narasimha and venugopala, which was adjudged as best Architecture by ASI.

The temple is famous for its unique star-shaped platform, the intricate stone carvings on the outer walls depicting various mythological stories, and the finely carved sculptures of deities inside the temple. Visitors can also admire the detailed carvings on the ceiling and pillars of the temple. The temple is easily accessible from major cities in Karnataka and is a great destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.

Astounding, magnificent, breathtaking… I cannot get the right words to describe the architectural beauty of this temple. The intricately detailed sculptures and carvings are awe inspiring. The expertise of the twelfth century architects and artisans who built the temple over one or two generations is to be appreciated for their geometric precision, symmetry and artistic beauty.

A true evidence of our rich history. The temple has the most beautiful Krishnaji statue all over India as said by the priest that is more than 1000 year old. It's black in colour and when you see it, it will go deep within..you...There are other God Narsimha, God Vishnu too. The carvings on the wall can always tell us that our old generations had very hi tech knowledge and machines to crave such beautiful carvings on the walls. Please come to see this temple and make it popular....Do remember to visit in on ur trip to Chikmagalur..

We visited here on a Sunday, instead of Belur & Halebidu. It was a magical place, very less crowded and peaceful. The drive to reach Belawadi itself was amazing with green farms and tree canopies all the way... the Belawadi village itself is so laid back, old school and charming. I could spend an entire day just walking around and photographing the lanes and houses here.

We visited this temple on the way to Bangalore from Chikkmagaluru. Its one of the oldest and ancient temple in India. One dont need much time to visit. One can visit the whole temple in just 30 minutes. I really liked the temple and carvings of it but found it weird that one has to ask the priest to show the idol and open for the people. They dont keep it open and expect us to ask them to open and show us the main temple. Anyways, apart from this, they have a huge garden. If you wish to go inside, then dont, because it is full of thorns. Im sorry to use the word, but its so foolish to keep it open. I actually walked and got both the feet full of thorns and on top of it they were laughing. First of all, they should put of sign of thorns and if not that then close the garden. Dont let anyone go inside. Instead of feeling sorry, they were laughing and my foot got full of thorns. I got stuck inside and my sister had pull me and also she got thorns on her foot. How stupid it is! No entry fee. Parking place not available, park anywhere you like.

Good architecture and sculptures. Visited in the afternoon at a hot sun which we felt the heat at that time but manageable. Parking your vehicle would be challenging if there were more crowds. No restroom available nearby, best to look out for petrol pumps especially for ladies.

We had a great experience visiting this temple. It was calm and serene and very peaceful. We reached the temple around 3:30 pm and the temple opened at 4pm. It was very divine to see Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna and Lord Narasimha idols.

Amazing temple. Just awesome. Words are not enough to explain about beauty of this temple. Built by Hoysalas in their typical architecture. Very near to famous Hoysaleshwara temple of Halebeedu. Just like other famous temples of Hoysala this one also has highly decorated scluptures on outer walls of temple.

Really calm and peaceful temple. It's much nicer than the other temples as you can take your time to view all the carvings. There are apparently 108 pillars holding up the temple and each has a unique carving style.

This is a hidden gem many ppl even taxi drivers are not aware of this place this is an architecture marvel temple located in a quaint village without the hustle bustle of a tourist place like halebeedu or Belur where its buzzing with tourist We spent a very leisure time at our own pace at this temple Coming to this temple as per the pujari (priest) this temple is much more ancient than Belur and Halebeedu temples it has three vigrahams 1) Krishna 2) Narasimha 3) Veera Narayana Vishnu/Perumal Its said that the Krishna is one among the beautiful carved statue in the entire country as per archeologists Also the temple has 108 pillars and all pillars are unique from each other please photography inside the temple is prohibited but we can click picture from outside This is the only temple with gopuram when compared with Hoysala or Chennakesava temple with intricate architecture in the gopuram also this temple (and surrounding village) was gifted to Sringeri Mutt by Mysuru raja so at present all the agams were managed by Kanchi kamakoti peedam but the preservation and maintenance are taken care by the govt You can keep you eyes glued to the swamis and this temple has such an aura that you dont want to leave and just want to spend some more time A must must visit for tourists like me who happen to visit Belur and Halebeedu Also the route from Halebeedu to Belavadi is such a green lush wonder with series of sunflower fields , Marigold fields which gives even Tulip gardens tough fight for its scenic beauty

Hands down one of the finest Temples 🙏 Built before Belur Halebidu. If you are near Halebidu, one must visit this temple to take the Darshan of Three Main Deities (Sri Veeranarayana, Sri Venu Gopala, Sri NaraSimha) hence the name Trikutaachala. All the Deities' idols are so beautiful while the Venu Gopala Krishna in his Signature pose is just Mesmerizing Amazing and Beautiful. This Temple is a 11th Century Marvel ! Archeological Survey of India has awarded this is the MOST beautiful idol of Krishna across India ! No offense but One doesn't need ASI to tell it is as such but we will ourselves identify and feel this is the most beautiful. We cannot take pictures of the main Deities hence one must experience the beauty just by visiting the temple. If you are visiting the temple in the noon, avoid visiting during 2pm to 4pm as the garbha gruha doors will be closed. If you have visited Belur Halebidu already then visiting just the outskirts of this temple feels ordinary so do not miss to take the Darshan of main Deities. The Archak will explain the history sweet and neat, so do check with them. Parking is a problem as it is inside the village so if you have a big car, i suggest to park near the main road and walk towards the temple (approx 150-200 mts), there is no washroom / toilets.

Belavadi is one of the older hoysala temples. Architecture is slightly different, in the sense that mostly you find yaksha and yakshi kind of sculptures, rather than story tellers.... Also, the main sanctum walls don't have any carvings. It appears that the front doors were added later and those are full of carvings. It's about 30 minutes from Halebidu. Worth taking an hour and half extra to visit the place ... PS: There are about 180 unique pillars and a few beautiful rod carvings. It's a pity they don't allow photographing inside the temple. Since Pooja is offered for the deities, it is understandable that photos are not allowed in sanctum. Cannot understand logic of not allowing pillars and the carvings to be photographed. Many times we feel we don't advertise our heritage with irrational and random restrictions....

First of all, the Deities made from "Saligram stone" and it's a beautiful sculpture, that you don't forget in your life. You'll not see elsewhere this type of sculpture!! One of the oldest temples of India. located on remote area in belavadi village. Well maintained and clean area. houses in this village also a unique pattern of building. One of the finest sculptures you can see here. A must-visit place in your lifetime.

Beautiful place. Wonderful Hoysala architecture. It is maintained well. Open untill 2:00 pm in the noon. Veera narayana is the main deity, along with yoga narasimha swamy and venugoapalaswamy.

One of the Hoysala temple nice sculpture. Well maintained by the authorities but there is no parking space and no footwear keeping space. But inside the temple it is amazing and it is very less crowded so one can spend ample amount of time.

Well maintained Temple of Lord Sri Veeranarayana is half an hour from the cultural heritage Halebeedu. A peaceful place with very Less crowd and you can spend quality time witnessing the mesmerizing art work. The way they carved the rocks into architecture is impeccable. There is no parking system as such but you can park your vehicle's road side.

11th century temple is another crown jewel among the Hoysala Dynasty architecture. The sculpture and architecture is top notch. A magnificent Trikuta (three shrined) temple devoted to Lord Shri Vishnu. The sad part is most of the idols are damaged. There is not much crowd in this temple so the visit will be peaceful. It is a highly recommended site if you are visiting the Chikmaglur.
