The trek is a memorable one. We started from Bangalore at around 0130hrs and reached the trek start point at around 0345hrs. I would suggest people to book their tickets online via Myecotrip website, because by doing so, you will save a lot of time at the starting point. The 4km trek is so very much tiring, so i would suggest you to have a good amount of water and energy supplements to get you going. You'll need to have a good pair of shoes with adequate grip so that you don't slip and hurt yourself or others. It took about 2.45hrs for us to reach the top view point. It depends upon how fit you are or how much you can push your body to reach the peak at the right time. We reached the top at around 0620hrs. It was a spectacular view. So rejuvenating, so peaceful, there is no words you could have to explain the experience you have at the top. The clouds, the sunrise, oh my my... beautiful it was. We took rest for another 1hr at the top and began our descent at around 0830hrs, and reached the base at around 1015hrs. Plan accordingly and go for this trek, you will never regret.

Skandagiri! Also known as Kalavara betta. This is a moderate to difficult trek. The trek distance is 3km moving upwards and takes minimum 2 hours. The descend can take anywhere between 1hr to 1h30m. The cloudbed view at the top is not everyday occurence. This is one of the treks that you can start from 4am in night. The entry permit costs 250rs per person and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Partial refunds from a group booking is not possible and you have to cancel entire booking. The refund is then decided based on new booking e.g. if intial group booking was for 5ppl and 1person drops out then you have to cancel entire 5 permits followed by booking a new 4ppl permit. When this is confirmed the refund for 5th person is given. This refund is ONLY after the trek date.

Breath taking view and trekπŸ˜‚ for a beginner. The earlier you go, the better it is. Prior booking for the trek is a must. You can go and pay there too. But they might make you wait for about an hour. So might as well, do it before. It's about a 2-2.5 hours trek to the sunrise point. There is Google maps direction from the start point to the view point(so you don't get lost), so there no need of a guide. Good music, good company and beverages is all you need for the whole trek.😌

Strongly recommend to start climbing by 4 a.m. so that you get the wonderful view of sunrise. It takes 1 hour for a fit person to climb 2.75km. Once you summit the feeling you get is priceless. Carry torches so that it will be easy to climb in the dark. Best hike for beginners. Total distance is around 5.5 to 6 km.

It is a beautiful hiking spot where you can catch a breathtaking sunrise view. Before going ahead, do book the tickets on the website as only prior booking is entertained. The trek on itself is not that easy even though it's said to be moderate. It requires a minimal fitness. Start the trek by 4 am early morning so that you can reach the peak by 5/6 am, on time to catch the sunrise. Don't forget to carry a torch as you'll be starting the trek in darkness.

The cold misty wind and fast floating clouds are absolutely amazing to witness. Things to carry for night Trek. 1. Raincoat or Poncho 2. Warmer 3. Face towel 4. Sunscreen 5. Some light food items 6. As much water as possible 7. A head torch light would be great 8. Cap for descending. 9. Proper warm clothes both top and bottom wind proof would be great.

Skandagiri Hills is a beautiful hiking spot where you can catch a breathtaking sunrise view. It's important to note that tickets must be booked in advance on the website, as only prior bookings are allowed. The trek itself is moderate in difficulty, but it does require a minimum level of fitness. To ensure that you can catch the sunrise, it's best to start the trek around between 3 to 4am in the morning. Don't forget to bring a torch, as you'll be starting the trek in darkness. The trek is about 5 to 6km and should take around 4 hours to complete. It's a good idea to start early in the morning to get the best views of the clouds, cold breeze, and the beautiful cityscape from the top of the hill. There are ample parking facilities available, but the restrooms are not clean and not well-maintained. It's also important to listen to the weather reports before visiting in the winter, as it can sometimes get too foggy to drive. Overall, Skandagiri Hills is a spectacular place to visit and is highly recommended.

Night trekking and sunrise with some amazing pics. What else do you need For an experience that is a beautiful amalgamation of history and adventure, opt for the Skandagiri trek. Around 60 km from Bangalore, this place is perfect for a short getaway from the city. It is in this hill that you get to witness ruins that date way back to the 18th century. The trek is also suitable for novices as it is relatively simple and well marked out. As you make your way on top of the hill, you will be flanked by pleasant greenery. Once on the top, you are rewarded with great sights of the valley below. Offering panoramic views of the night sky and the sunrise, this 8km trek comprises of ascending and descending through rugged terrains and can be completed within 4-5 hours of ascending and descending. Best Season: Oct - May

If you wanted to go here plan to reach by 4 to 4.30max. And if you are beginner to trek it wil take sometime to reach the top. The scenic view on the top is something need to be felt. Sunrise during winter wil not be proper but still you can enjoy the mood with a cup of coffee and a bread omelette. Carry water bottles and necessary food if needed coz you don't get anything In between the trek

It’s the best sunrise trek close to Bangalore. Do not underestimate it because it is indeed challenging but it is worth the effort. If lucky, can view the clouds above at the peak. Weekends are extremely crowded.

One of the best experience of my life. It's a moderate to hard level trekking to reach the peak. I did it at night time, which is best time to trek. It's 5 km up and took around 2 hours. Its completely wild and don't expect any build in toilets. Now best part is morning sunrise. So mesmerizing view with cold chill wind, cloud or fog and the Sun. It's a lifetime veiw

Must know things if you are planning to visit : it is a government operated trek so you need to book tickets from karnataka eco tourism website. At a time only 300 person are allowed. Genrally weekend tickets are booked by trekking groups long back. So, either book through a trekking group or book it around 15-20 days before visiting. About the trek: it's a 4km long trek which will take around 1.5 to 3 hours depending on your fitness. It's not that easy as it is all the way ascending plus there are parts of trek which are quite slippery ( might get extremely slippery in rainy season). If you start your trek at night do carry a torch and some water plus some snacks. There is just one small shop near the entrance of the trek so it's better to carry your own stuff. View from the top: The view is worth the climb. You say a beautiful view with a lake, if you are lucky enough to witness the sunrise then it will be amazing ( we didn't get to see it). There are around 5-10 good spots for taking some really nice picture. Have fun!

You have to book ur ticket in advance or entry will be denied. Try to be there by 4 am, first treck starts at 4 am. We started at 4:30 am and reached at top by 6:30 am. Try to avoid during monsoon season, rocks will be slippery. We went of May, day were pretty good. Couldn't see any clouds due to intense fog. Try to take good trekking shoe for better grip.

The night trek is good albeit the crowd that is present. Preferable time to start the trek is at 4am when the first slot is opened by the forest department to witness the sunrise. Do take along torch and shoes with good grip. The trek is reasonably steep.
