    I recently stayed at The Fren Denzong Hotel, and while its location wasn't the best, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service provided by the staff. The hotel's surroundings may not be ideal, but the warm and accommodating service more than made up for it. The rooms were well-maintained and comfortable, contributing to a pleasant stay. Despite its less-than-ideal location, I would recommend The Fren Denzong Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in the area, as the excellent service and room quality make it a worthwhile choice

    I stayed here with my family for six nights in the month of May, 2023 and they served very good vegetarian food at their small restaurant at an affordable price in the place like Mahatma Gandhi Marg of Gangtok Sikkim where every thing is costly and the location of the Hotel is Great of those who are love to stay at M G Marg of Gangtok Sikkim and their room service was also very good. I recommend this hotel to those who want to visit Gangtok in a small Budget with their small family.

    Located exactly on the famous MG marg of Gangtok. Good hospitality by the staff and the owner. Restaurant and bar is also available as well as rooftops with well maintained seats.

    It was the worse experience EVER! I would never recommend this hotel (Fern, Gangtok) to anybody. There are NO ACs in the rooms, and the entire hotel. It was not mentioned ANYWHERE on the entire website either, or declared prior to booking. The bathroom had 100s of insects and flies. There is NO HOT WATER in the rooms (even in monsoons, can’t imagine what would happen in winters). They said it’ll take 15-20 minutes for hot water to come, and for that much time you need to keep the taps on and let the water flow (which is terrible environmentally). BUT, even then we did not get any hot water, even after 30 minutes of leaving the tap on. There was no force in the water too, just like warm water sprinkling from the shower. To top it all, the WORSE THING EVER was the behaviour of the manger AJAY. He kept lying to us about the refund policies, was super rude to us (which was pathetic), we have the videos too of his pathetic behaviour. It was the worst experience ever!

    Greta location just above MG road on a quiter street. The rooms were good and the Hotel offers massages which I availed and was good. The restaurant was average, the coffee too milky and sugary, the Drumsticks for heaven so spicy that it felt like in drumsticks from hell, but the servers and other service folks were very quick, attentive and really well trained. The best service we saw in Gangtok. I had some really hot water in the bathrooms so no issues there since I saw some other reviews about lack of hot water. My only suggestion to the establishment will be to make the food less spicy or ask your customers the level of spice one would prefer. Otherwise, if anyone comes to Gangtok I will recommend this place to them.

    Hotel location is great near by MG road but no valley view. Staff hospitality is good. One negative point is that there is no proper exhaust in kitchen which affect dinning area.

    When we entered our room, the pillows and bedsheet were dirty and stained. The best part was their food. I want to recommend specifically the mixed fruit salad with ice cream.breakfast was included and there was so much variety like continental north indian south indian all options were available. Every food item was good or super delicious. I tried tiramisu for the first.don’t try their hot chocolate, it’s simple bournvita.

    We arrived on 3rd oct 2023, and that night there was a massive flood in sikkim. We were worried as all roads were blocked and no exit from gangtok was possible. This is the time when the hotel travel desk Mr. Biswanath and team did a splendid job. They organised an innova to Siliguri (convoy of cars with hotel guests) through an alternative route. Though the route was eery we finally reached in about 10 hours. The driver was very good. Sikkim did not have fuel that morning and huge ques in petrol bunks. Surprisingly the hotel had stock of fuel and that was used for the cars. Amazing. Well done The Fern Team. Also the room has two double beds, so very good while travelling with two kids. The arrangements made by traveldesk for Natula was also very good. The location is nearby the MG Marg which is a nice place for shopping. Food was good. Special mention for Kushal at the restaurant. Also the very very helpful and friendly (genuine) reception team.

    The hotel is excellent. The first day I saw the hotel I was overwhelmed by their reception. The staff there at the reception Apeksha,Jeena and Shan received us very warmly. The room too was very cozy and clean. We were there in the hotel from Oct 30th 2023 to 2nd November 2023. The staff at the restaurant too were very sweet in attending and made us feel at home. Manita,Sanjana and Kushal to name a few. There were some more, Maybe I missed some names but during our stay I can say the entire team worked in unison. The food was excellent. South indian,north Indian anything,but mainly the food tasted good was served well. Hats off to the chef who was doing a good job. The ambience is so soothing,after a hard day's touring it feels good to come back to a clean bed and a very neat bathroom. Not to forget the spa, a bit expensive but the girls were too good. The massage relieved me of all my tiredness. For such tiny hands,they were very firm and good at their job. Value for money. A special word of appreciation for the chefs.... Neeraj,Prajval and Pratik. The food was excellent.

    The property is located just above the main Mg market. The way to the market is easy because it is steep downhill but the way back uphill is tough. The staff is very professional and the room service is effecient. The breafast buffet is good and all the options needed.

    Everything here is superb except the parking. U have a very little place for parking. In and out is also very difficult for the vehicles from the place they provide. The hotel staff themselves couldn't save a place for 10 mins until we board. we were a group of 15 people and ours is a tempo. we had to go 2 km far again on vehicles spending almost 1000/-. If this hadn't happened, I would have rated 5. I know everyone might not experience this.

    Stayed with spouse for three nights in May. The room was kind of a suite, with separate sitting (or working) and sleeping sections. That helped my wife because she needed to get a fair amount of work done. I was on the first floor, so there were no views, just a lot of stray dogs barking all through the night (missed my earplugs terribly). The hotel really needs to work on providing decent WiFi. The area even has 5G, but it only seemed to work on the rooftop, probably because there are tall buildings all around. the breakfast was good. I enjoyed eating at one of the tables outside, watching people go by. The overall service was polite and competent if sometimes slow. But that could just be because of the rush. The hotel is very close to MG Market (the main reason I chose it), but the climb back up can be difficult for a lot of people. I was told one can get a cab from the other end of the market, but I couldn't find one. And walking was great indeed.

    Rooms and the view from room was great. There was a little issue with water and it takes almost 20 min to get hot water in bathroom. But considering the weather I felt it was ok. Breakfast was superb , do try their bakery items. Hotel is close to MGroad but better be prepared to climb up and down the slope. Rest everything was good. Had a comfortable stay.

    It was our third trip to Sikkim and this time, we booked 2 winter green premium rooms with mountain view for 5 of us including two senior citizens and stayed in Fern Denzong - Gangtok for 6 nights from 3rd Feb,2023 to 8th Feb, 2023. The Hotel is just 5 mins walk away from the famous MG Marg. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The heater and hot water were available although water takes time to heat. Food quality was good but very expensive. Lift service was always working fine in the hotel and helped lot to my senior citizen parents. Booking for sightseeing from the hotel travel desk was quite expensive. Toiletries were provided in rooms but not changed regularly. The hotel also overcharged us with total Rs 2000 (Rs 1200 and Rs 800 ) for breakfast and have taken charge twice. Multiple times they provide bills with incorrect billing amount which if any guest did not go through properly may have to provide same charges multiple times like us. Great hospitality in restaurant with variety & good taste of food. Overall, it was a nice stay but was expecting better services specially in accounts and billing desk of the Hotel, where we found so many disconnect related to billing.

    Their hospitality is really good. All the staffs and managers are very helpful and courteous. The coffee in their cafe is delicious. The only thing they need to improve is breakfast. I just didn’t get the taste in the breakfast buffet

    A classy and superb hotel . Very friendly staff . Food was also decent , you can’t expect much from here , as getting here food is also a big thing . They specially made vegetarian food for me . Vegetarian food was not at all a problem . Maintaining the chef is also tough . The rooms were quiet nice . I made them a request that I need a good view room , and to my surprise they upgraded my room . That was so nice of them . This is my second time staying with them . The location of this hotel is the best , very near to MG road , probably walkable distance . I have so many options to stay in different hotels but I’ll always choose this hotel .

    The room was good and the services were very good. I would like to mention that Mr. Biswanath was extremely helpful. I had an insect bite on my arm and being a Sunday there were no clinics or Doctors available. He helped me get the right medicine and treatment and also did a follow up to check I was fine throughout my stay.

    Spacious rooms and very clean atmosphere. Disappointed with the dinner that was supposed to be buffet but they offered limited menu to serve at table. Buffet breakfast is good to start your day. Prefer to stay at higher than 1st floor rooms.

    What to say about these deceiting people. I must mention them deceit because there services were pathetic, rooms were full of dust mosquitoes and so uncomfortable, smelly bathrooms , they never cleaned it properly , no bathroom and room amenities and food is soo soo soo overcharged as compared to quality . That lady in there cafe has no idea how to make cappuccino or any other drink. Believe me if you want to visit gangtok take some good resort and good taxi person . I hate saying this but east people whom so ever i have met in that trip was so rude they dont like north indians specially from punjab and they are not helpful they treat us as we r not a part of this country.

    I just completed my a short stay at The Fern Denzong in Gangtok. Let me summarize my experience and feedback for this hotel - overall there were few hits and misses. Let me start with location : Very good location, just 5 minutes walk from the MG road. I was with 3 years kid, it was overall smooth to take a stroll from hotel to mg road. Room: I took the Fern Club room which was really big, easily accomodate 2 Adults and 2 child. There was twin queen size bed which was quite spacious to accomodate 4 of us. Bathroom was clean too. However the view was roadside. Very few channels inhouse , so better to rely on your entertainment yourself. Wifi was ok though. Food and Restaurant: Breakfast was good, and with a good variety. Even buffet option was sumptous. They were quick to customize in case u are with kids. Entrance and Parking: They have nasement parking but that's very steep, if you aren't a trained driver, u should avoid. 90% of people take cabs. Entrance was very good, they have small bakery at entrance with good options and outside sitting area. They also have Travel desk and i booked most of my sightseeing thru them , but it's costlier. I booked with them since I didn't wanted to take any chances as i was with my family. Overall experience with travel desk was very good, especially Mr Sahil from Travel desk who instantly booked our cabs. Ambience: while entrance ambience was good, floors need some improvements. Like in most of the 4 stars, there is immense soundproofing that's there so that lobby noise is not reaching the room but over here room lobby didn't had soundproofing. One can hear outside travellers noise from your room. It feels like a dormatory as you enter the rooms lobby area. So a better soundproofing, lighting can improve the experience. Cleanliness: Here are some improvement area, while room was clean but it was not spot clean. Corners had some spots. Also, bedding could be much cleaner. Junior staffs needs special mention right from front desk to housekeeping and other departments, were really humble and have good nature. Customer Handling is a big improvement area for the hotel. One examples: one of the very weird explanation given by manager as upon my return from sightseeing at 0330 PM , my room was not cleaned. Clarification was that first checkin rooms are made up and then they take care of occupied rooms , I mean 🙂?? Overall, this is one of the finest hotel if you are in Gurgaon. Great location and hospitable staff, however if they can work on outer ambience (soundproofing etc ) and better dealing with customers, this will definitely improvise overall customer experience.

    Experience at fern denzong hotel was one of the worst experience I have ever faced in any hotel. Management of the hotel is totally inefficient. Specially MOD at night on 12th June was very rude and non cooperative. There were a lot of issues during our stay, to mention the most problematic things 1) we booked extra beds in four rooms but they were not arranged even till 1:30am in the night and my family was sitting at reception till this time. 2) One of the room was so small and so suffocating that health of my parents deteriorated because of that and this room was of same category (winter green room) as my other 5 rooms and same amount was charged for it but it was of half size than other rooms and when I asked MOD on 12th night to atleast arrange a call with any senior he denied very rudely and behaved very poorly with us. 3) when I told about the issue to the senior management asst. Manager Mr Ajay Pradhan responded positively but he was having no authority and he called the General Manager but GM was very rude and his attitude was like that we are not at any fault and we will not do anything for you. He talked in ill-mannered way and showed that he has no value for his guest. It's really surprising to see that General Manager of that big brand could behave in this manner and treat his guest so badly. 3) While having breakfast at their resturant we forgot to take our room key and went for sightseeing and when we returned we asked the front desk that we forgot our card at restaurant please open the room from master key but they start blabbering that you have lost the key and you will have to pay extra charges. We asked them to atleast once enquire in the restaurant if they have found any lost key there, to which they replied we know about everything in our hotel and there is no lost key in the resturant, you just have to pay for extra key. So, I myself asked a waiter in resturant about lost key and within 1 minute he gave me my card (key). So, in short management just wanted to charge extra for the lost card without even enquiring with resturant. They just want to rip their guests pockets with one way or another. So, overall it was a horrible experience to stay at fern denzong and I will strongly recommend all my friends and family to never choose fern denzong for their stay.

    Lovely place with all your requirements. It's on Kazi Road so its just the perfect distance away from Mall road. So you are away from the hustle bustle of the market and yet less than a 10 minute walk away. Mind you its a pretty steep climb to walk up to the hotel. But less than 500 metres. Rooms are clean and spacious. One side has a spectacular view of the valley. They have a full fledged restaurant. Breakfast is particularly good and quite lavish. Meals are also good . You will get something or the other that suits your palate. Staff is extremely courteous and helpful. Shivani the GRE and Ajay the manager are the perfect pair to make your stay a memorable one. They even cater to late night hunger pangs. Remember though that it becomes bright as early as 430am. They have a travel desk as well and can organise your excursions. Peak season maybe difficult though and horrendously expensive. Mall road is bustling till 8pm and usually most places are shut by 9pm latest. There's a small store right in front of the hotel to meet your small needs like packaged water , snacks, masks, icecream even paan. We had a lovely stay and would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who's staying at Gangtok.

    Had a lovely stay here . Ajay Pradhan and his team made sure we had a wonderful stay . The view is excellent. We loved the food at the restaurant and also had dinner served in our room . Nice cozy place and definitely recommended. Very close to MG road and traveller friendly . Only thing missing is that it is Non AC room hotel and with the windows closed can get a bit stuffy . We wanted to try the spa but the place was short of the manpower .

    Pathetic customer service. Horrible place. Worst ever property. Ppl gave very negative reviews before we booked but we still went ahead and we regret our decision. Will never ever visit any Fern property.

    Absolutely loved our stay at this place. Staff was warm friendly and cordial. Each n every staff. Whether at the restaurant or room service. Everything was great. Great food. Nice n clean rooms. The MG road is a walk away. U can have nice evening stroll at MG road. Thanks to all staff for making our stay comfortable and memorable.

    There was NO HOT WATER for a day and all they said was wait for 10 mins, wait for 15 mins and keep wasting water by keeping the tap open for hours till hot water comes. They spoiled our vacation. Pathetic staff, the senior most manager doesn’t have any gravity in his word. He said my travel agent completely different story and his reaction on the issues we faced. Better to stay somewhere else than ruining you vacation

    They really need to stop skimping so much. For a brand hotel they skip out on way too many amenities. The room washrooms need better drainage as they stink continuosly. The warm water works only during specific hours and the hair dryer in the washroom has some sort of timer which renders it useless after 30 seconds for 15 minutes or so. The only good thing was the wait staff and busboys.
