Ratings Scale 0 - 10 Variety: 8 Service or Product: 9 Customer Service: 9 Environment: 8 Cleaning: 8 Washroom: 7 Cost: 7 Loved the food here as well as the customer service! Everything was tasty and made fresh! The fish tikka was prepared different from what I expected but it was really good with a hint of sweetness on the crispy crust. Naan were excellent as well, which many places don't get quite right! They also made a special aloo naan for my daughter so it wouldn't be spicy. The kitchen messed it up and added a lot of black pepper but our server had them make a fresh one, which was perfect for her! Overall this was top notch food and I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

Delicious food!! We ordered the beef samosa platter along with panipuri to start. The beef samosa was extremely good, not greasy at all. Panipuri was very good as well but a very small portion. Butter chicken, chicken korma, and lamb saag were for the main course. All were very good but the butter chicken was our favorite. There is not too much meat in each order, the lamb saag seemed like there were only four small pieces of meat in it. We also ordered three kinds of naan and two orders of rice pilau. The rice was very light and fluffy and the naan was good. I wish there was more garlic on it but that may just be my personal preference. We ordered hot which was not hot enough for our taste, next time we would go for the Indian hot. My wife and I like very spicy food. The appetizers took about half an hour to come out. The food took just over an hour. I think they were short staffed. It was just over $100 to feed three people. I would recommend eating here.

Next to food in India itself, globally I have two favorite Indian Restaurants. Coriander’s in New Zealand and Shandhar Hut in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. Shandhar’s food is exceptional and the owners family and team provides fantastic service.

Delicious dinner!! Best Indian food I’ve ever had. We ordered Josh Rogan, butter chicken, veg pakora, veg samosa, coconut rice and garlic naan. Will definitely be back. Soo good! Wasn’t very spicy.

The food was amazing!! Can totally understand the high ratings, we will definitely be back for the food. The service on the other hand was horrible. No warm welcoming and our server completely ignored us while going to the few tables surrounding us. Never checked on us, refilled waters or even brought the bill despite bringing the bill and talking for a very long time to surrounding tables. We even had to go inside to order something else. We are both servers so we’re always pretty aware of the service we receive. If the food wasn’t so good, the service would have turned us away.

Went there after a Monday hike. Waited a while to get service - they are just so swarmed! We were seated at the front, beside all the take out ordering and can see the people streaming in for their orders - and I soon see why they are popular. The mango lassi and chai tea are delicious, and oh their curry? Absolutely fantastic! The lamb was cooked to be tender and the garlic and coconut naan bread mix with it so well! The portion is a bit on the big side that 2 guys finishing off a decent 6 hour hike are stuffed (friend who also ordered rice had to pack the food home for the next day)

For a restaurant with a 4.7 star review. I thought it would be absolutely amazing but it was just okay. Maybe I ordered on the wrong day, at the wrong time? I got mild butterchicken. Which was good but the chicken tasted processed. I also got a vegetable somosa with a side of chutney sauce. Which was good. The garlic Nan was also good! but the rice.... I don't know what happened there lol. Unless it's normal to get balls of basmati rice. It looked, tasted, and felt old. Definitely wasn't a fan.

Excellent food and skilled cooks. Having visited the restaurant multiple times, I can attest to the quality of the food, which is undoubtedly delicious and flavourful. However, they treat depend of your color or language skills. Despite the quality of the food, the service leaves much to be desired. On my recent visit, I ordered food to go, and when I picked it up, the cashier seemed uninterested and lacked basic customer service skills which was quite frustrating. It's disappointing that such a fantastic restaurant with great food falls short in this aspect. As a result, I feel like I'm doing them a favor by purchasing food from them, which shouldn't be the case and that poor customer service detracts from the dining experience.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant. They have a great atmosphere and are always very friendly. I love that their dishes are all copper. Their veggie pakora is delicious and their kashmiri fantastic (mango puree added to their butter sauce). Everything comes out fresh and hot and it is absolutely delectable. I've been here multiple times and am never disappointed.

Amongst some of the tastiest Indian food I have had in Canada. Up there with Coconut Lagoon in ottawa Herbs and spices and vibrant and fresh. The mango lassi tho was overly season and unusually for my taste. Execution was good, but I was just unsure if it's to my preference.

My boyfriend comes to Chilliwack once a year and ALWAYS has to stop at Shandhar. I don’t think I stop hearing about how good it is - I think I hear about it once a week (we live in Ottawa, Ontario). I just visited with him this afternoon and it’s a great spot. We even got extra butter chicken sauce to come home with us!

Had lunch with a friend. I love the Shandahar Hut. I've never had a bad Indian meal there. Food is always very flavorful. Highly recommended!

Eaten here a few times now, and the food is always delicious. The pakora shrimp and regular naan are amazing, but the stuffed naan misses the mark a little. We're working our way through the menu, and have tried everything now, but our favorite is the Kashmiri! A couple of things we don't like though, warm rice pudding, and there's a huge difference in spice level between mild and medium!

I am writing my first review ever just to tell people seeing this how bad the first experience was. We ordered food today in dinner which was tandoori chicken ( suppose to be dry chicken with more chicken and less veggies ) ! The one they gave us such bad quality filled with unhealthy smelly oil, on top of that the chicken pieces were so small and had more veggies! Looked more like ugly karahi chicken. The worst was when we called to complain to the restaurant the owner told us eat it or throw up to you and no need to come and order again !! This old guy at the main front desk probably the owner needs some ethics and etiquettes to talk to a customer ! At least he should have some patience and take the customer feedback gracefully and apologize for non customer satisfaction instead of bullshitin*g on the phone. By the way this was the first time and last time we ordered here as we moved from surrey to try this restaurant out but never again !

Yummy food. Seems fresh, not overly spiced. Very yummy yogurt mango smoothie! My mom is quite a critic and even she loved it! You will go feeling full and delighted. Bar top corner is quiet extended out and my daughter hit her head on it going to the washroom. It's a black counter and dark inside, so watch out for this corner! Apologies would have been nice.

Good food, nice service, because we sit out side the restaurant in the patio, it's just beside the Young rd. a bit too noisy, that's the only concern. The waitress named Aman is very friendly and thoughtful. Thank you!

I have been coming here for well over a decade. I am frequently trying new dishes and am consistently blown away by the taste and quality in the food. I'm no expert on Indian food, but from the many places I've been to throughout the Lower Mainland, this is easily my favourite spot. It is easy to bring people here to pop their Indian food cherry, as the butter chicken is such a delightful gateway dish. The take out is worthwhile even if you have a drive of over 30 minutes, the food will still be hot and delicious.

A friend took me here, and boy was I pleased. He kept raving about how good it is, but I had to experience it myself. Spoiler alert: it exceeds all expectations The food was exceptional, bursting with authentic flavors and expertly prepared with care. Each dish showcased the richness and complexity of Indian cuisine, leaving me thoroughly impressed. What made the experience even better was the great service and value for the pricing. The waitress chatted with us, and made us feel very welcomed. The restaurant also offered generous portions at reasonable prices, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a delightful dining experience without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving outstanding food and fantastic value for their money.

We enjoyed another mouth-watering dinner at the Shandhar Hut last night. The restaurant was buzzing with people, so we sat out on the covered patio under heaters (and it was perfect). Pearl was our server and was gracious, efficient and friendly. The food was, as always, amazing & so flavourful. Wish we could have leftovers, but we ate it all!

It was not so very good experience. We ordered Fish tikka and goat biryani. They didn’t bring our order for next 30 mins and we reminded them . After which they literally got us Fish chilly I guess bcs Tikka doesn’t taste and look like that . Also biryani was weird , no Basmati rice ,had cashew on it and looked more like pulao but taste was fine.

The place was packed so it must be popular, service was slow as molasses but understandable with how busy it was (although ideally they would have been properly staffed instead). I loved the menu selection. We got butter paneer and mixed veggie korma. I was here with my elderly step mom who finds anything more than black pepper too spicy but I like my food screaming hot spicy. I assured our server of this and asked for hottest sauce possible on the side. She looked amused and when the dishes were brought and she had already walked away I realized she had brought tamarind sauce which is sweet. I guess she didn’t believe me which is common in Indian restaurants. Unfortunately it was so busy we never saw her again or anyone for that matter and I was starving due to the long wait so I was stuck with it. Would have liked to try their dishes spicy. Also the naan did not seem warm or fresh which would have been nice

Outstanding food, cooked and prepared well, the ingredients are all fresh, seasoned correctly with just the right level of spices without that "salty" after taste you find in so many others. If you enjoy Indian cuisine and enjoy a high level of quality attention to your foods preparation, its cooking and presentation make this your choice of takeaway Indian cuisine. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend at work.

Great experience with everything. Went to meet up with friends and had a great dining experience, the food came out at the same time and was fresh and tasty. Our server was very helpful and informative. Would recommend eating here again in the near future.
