This is a very calm temple built by Bhagojisheth Keer under the aspiration of Veer Savarkar in 1931 as a symbol of abolishing untouchability. This temple is open for anyone and everyone immaterial of gender caste religion or any other social identity. It also has a beautiful shikhara which is hardly visible due to the neighbouring buildings. It houses the deity Laxmi Narayan and also venerates various saints in the temple. There is also a memorial museum dedicated to Veer Savarkar in the temple complex which is now out of use. This temple stands testimonial to social change freedom struggle and the local prestige of Ratnagiri.

Patit Pawan Mandir is the one example of social unity behind castism. Shriman Bhagoji Keer with inspiration of Swatyantraveer Savarkar create this first ever temple allowing all cast people to do worship which was mere that time in year 1931. All people should visit here when travel to Ratnagiri. This is my pleasure that I got this chance. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat

This temple was built by Late Bhagojisheth Keer under inspiration from Shri Veer Savarkar. Savarkarji brought touchable and untouchable together at this temple. Idol of Shri Vishnu and Mata Laxmi is directly accessible to anyone. There is small museum which has self autographed hand prints of Shri Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar, Jamshedji Mehta, Sarojini Naydu, Nathuram Godse etc. Also has brief on many freedom fighters and there is documentary show for History of Patit Pavan Temple.

It is good place to visit in heart of Ratnagiri city. It is having historical importance as Swatantryaveer Savarkar with the help of Mr. Blagoji Keer built this temple for untouchables. This is one step towards abolishing this worst practice.

The most inspirational place where temple was opened for all cast by Sh. Bhagoji Sheth Keer who was inspired from Veer Sawarkar. An attempt to eliminate Castism/racism among Hindus in 1931 was a big event. Savarkar's organization of a "SAHABHOJAN" (Eat together) - people of different casts eating together was another revolutionary experiment in this temple about 1500 men of all casts had their lunch together sitting side by side on this occasion. This was followed by women's ''SAHABHOJAN' under the leadership of Mrs. Bagal from Kolhapur. This was the great attempt which shook the nation & provocate people to get rid of cast. Salute to Swatantrya Veer Sawarkar.
