It’s a decent place to experience a cute little brunch moment for some tea and a homey vibe. Only gave it 3 stars however because the food didn’t meet my expectations. I tried the corned beef hash, Irish breakfast, and banana walnut pancakes and only the pancakes were a hit. Food portion was very small given the price and tasted very bland and dry. Was expecting more from the food.

A quaint little cafe that is open for lunch and dinner. Simple menu that consists of cafe style food, hot soups and some Irish pub options like Shepard's pie (which is what I ordered) and burgers. Of course there's dessert, coffee and tea which is what the decor is all about. Beautiful tea pots and saucers on display. I love the mismatched chairs and tables, like a country kitchen home. The tea pots all around the restaurant are showcased like pieces of art as well as real painted art line the walls. Fun place for a tea party!

Sunday mornings are typically quite busy, but we got seated right away! We were served locally baked bread from Tulips around the corner, a sunday specialty. Then Tea of our choosing. Irish Breakfast tea and Silver Needle white tea. We enjoyed the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs and Bacon! It was excellent!

Never in my life have I been so insulted straight to my face. I came with my family and we ordered dessert, tea and dinner for my daughter. Then an elderly caucasian waitress with short blonde hair proceeded to tell me if I only wanted to order dessert I could go the bakery across the street (which is closed). This is wild to me considering that my bill was over 65 dollars and there was a caucasian couple at the table across from me that ordered one soup and drinks. And also an empty table with no patrons. I dont ever plan to step foot back in their establishment ever again. UPDATE: According to the response by this establishment I'm also being called a liar.

I normally love this restaurant but as of tonight my family and I will never be dining here again. We decided to come as a large group on a Saturday night and some of us only had tea and dessert while the rest had full meals. And then when the desserts came out an elderly Caucasian waitress with short blonde hair had the audacity to come and say, "I don't mean to be rude but next time if you come for only dessert please visit the bakery across the street because we're turning away people that want to dine here." Excuse me??? I guess you don't want paying customers (and our bill was sizable also). And since we were the only table of colored patrons, I find it interesting that the other Caucasian diners who were only having drinks and sharing only soup (like the one across from us) weren't told a single thing. And there were other empty available tables that could accommodate these so called people who she was turning away. I won't speak for the other workers because they've usually been pleasant in the past but this one woman was very disrespectful and it's unfortunate that the whole restaurant has to be punished for the bad behavior of one. And I have at least four witnesses who heard what was said by that rude old waitress if anyone calls me a liar.

Beware - RACISM! Check other 1 star reviews for this establishment on Google and Yelp and almost all talk about racism and discrimination. This is one of my favorite spots but this was one of the worst experiences I've had. From the moment we entered, we were ignored and stood at the door for almost 10 minutes without anyone greeting us. Finally, we were called to the back and seated. There were multiple empty tables in the area we were seated in. It took some time for the waitress to take our order. After taking our order, we waited about 20 minutes for our appetizer. More than an hour passed and our entrees never came out nor did anyone say anything to us about it or check up on us. By then, our section was completely empty and we were so done with the experience. I am not usually one to say this but everyone in my party knew it was racism and discrimination. We were ignored by every waitress when we entered and seated only because two Caucasian women came into the establishment after us and we needed to be seated before they could be. While seated, no one bothered to check on us although they checked on Caucasian patrons all the time. Even after we decided to leave, the staff didn't apologize for the wait or try to explain why there was such a wait. I will not be returning here and don't recommend coming here if you're BIPOC because the staff is racist. Be sure to follow me on Yelp for great restaurant recommendations in LI and NYC!

This is my 4th visit to Swing the Teapot. My first time since they renovated. The food, tea and service was as good as ever. The decor for me has lost some of it's old world charm but nice nevertheless. They have added two additional dining areas. It's a little tight in the main dining area. The other table had to scoot her chair in for me to get out. I've had the corned beef hash and pancakes previously and they were delicious. This time had the Emerald Isle. The black pudding, sausage and bacon were delicious. The black pudding didn't have the metallic taste of blood. Nice taste of spices. The bacon wasn't salty always a plus for me. Nice thick slices of bread. Everything came out nice and hot. The Coconut-ti was very cooling. Loved it. Teapot was beautiful. Going back soon.

I couldn't be more disappointed. My family and I came to Swing the Teapot tonight in a party of 6 adults, 2 kids and a baby. Half the party ordered dessert and beer and the other half ordered Entrees, we all ordered teapots. Our party was split to 2 tables because of our size which was fine. A woman came up to the table I wasn't sitting at and informed them that if they wanted dessert and tea they could go across the street instead. I couldn't believe this. My table was planning after our entress to order a round of desserts and more tea but we decided to call it there and got our check. There were other tables of people sitting just having drinks with one item of food on their table before we even got in there and were still there after we left. I am the only Irish American in our mixed happy family of color, so I found it interesting they didn't say anything to the table I was sitting at. It's unclear but highly suspicious they chose to go to the other table of my party.

The restaurant is still under renovation. It will look like the place is closed but they are open. The main room is spacious now. More tables and we didn't go in to see the other 2 rooms. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. We ordered 2 teas and 2 omelette breakfast. One Denmark and one California with extra broccoli. I had the Denmark and loved it. The combo with the goat cheese was flavorful with interesting texture. We also ordered the Loaded Potatoes. We were really full. Next time , I would like to try the Pancakes. Our neighbors had them and they looked and smelled really good. Will def be back

Food was great but they are slow to serve. They forgot our coffee which was really important. It seems like they need more servers. The place was very cute. The chairs were uncomfortable.

This place has been on my list for a while, and once I finally got in there for breakfast one day, it just happened to be St Patrick's day, so I'll take that as a good sign. I spent a month in Ireland a few years ago, and walking into this place immediately brought me back. From the decor and seating, to the bar and the incredibly friendly staff, everything was extremely welcoming. Definitely go on a rainy day if you want the full Irish experience. I got one of the breakfast platters, which was delicious and tasted just like the many I had in Ireland. The eggs, sausages, Irish bacon, potatoes, and tomatoes were all perfectly cooked and flavorful. The soda bread was some of the best I've ever had. I'm absolutely coming back to give more of the menu a try and to grab a pot of tea soon.

We had a group of 8 for dinner & music Saturday night, 11/7. We understand many adjustments have been necessary due to the pandemic. However, pandemic routine changes had nothing to do with the indifferent, uncaring response from the owners/staff when we had a medical emergency. Our friend, a 92 yr old woman, became very ill & we had to call 911. She had a heart episode. When we asked the bartender for something to put her head on we were told it wasn't necessary because the EMTs would be there soon. We asked for something to clean her up with & they gave us a few napkins. (It was obvious we needed more than that) No management or staff ever came over to see how things were or to ask if they could help. Other customers helped us & even gave a coat for her head. Management did not come out to speak with any of us or to reassure other customers. They did not even come out when the ambulance came or left. This is not the way to run a small business. I've owned a small restaurant & this was very unprofessional & heartless. Thank goodness our friend is better.

A solid brunch spot! Nice tea selection. I liked the flavor of the Darjeeling Highlands black tea, the white fusion tea smelled good but not much flavor. Came with scones and bread and butter and strawberry jam. The scone was lightly sweet and the bread was okay. The zucchini wheels and onion rings were good, the sauces made them better. The black bean burrito was filling and came with potatoes. The walnut and banana pancakes were great, i added chocolate chips, was yummy. Overall a good place, nice ambiance, large brunch crowd. I hope to go back and try more items.

The staff was very nice and helpful. I had the Irish breakfast which tasted delicious! I also have the Irish breakfast tea along with the soda bread. The soda bread was very tasty! I only give reviews to places that really wow me and this restaurant did that and more.

Been here a couple of times. I've never had the tea, but that is what they're most known for. The food is mediocre, the strawberries I had today were not fresh, and tasted very cheap. My friend had a Hawaiian salad that had overripe pineapples. The coffee is ok, not amazing but not bad either. The environment is what I think most people come for, since it's very cutesy and the customer service is very sweet. I wish I could give them a better rating, but they really have to improve their food quality first! <3

Hands down the best Irish Breakfast. They have a great selection of teas from pure to flavored and herbal. The brown bread with the homemade Strawberry preserves is not to skipped. The service was quick and the staff friendly and attentive. Never once felt rushed to finish. My husband and I got there right after opening and had no wait, but it definitely filled up at around 10am and there was a wait when we left. It's worth it though! Be sure to stop at Tulip Bakery around the corner to bring your own preserves and bread home!

I enjoyed my time here. Me and my family went to have breakfast and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was homely, the staff was nice and receptive, always someone checking on us to make sure we were tended to. The food was also great, I had waffles, egg, some of their tea and a tiny piece of a pancake my 'guest' gave to me. The pancake was very fluffy and tasted great, the eggs where cooked well, and the waffles were impeccable. I like my waffles a certain way and not only did they have a great texture but a great taste as well. The tea they had was lovely and they had the nicest most interesting tea pots. Overall great experience. If I go back I'll be sure to take some pictures!

Stopped in for breakfast. Not one of the 7 of us had a bad word to say about our meals. The full Irish breakfast was well received by the Irishman in our midst. I highly recommend the warm Irish stewed apple pancakes.

Friendly service, great food, great decor and delicious tea! There is a great selection of food and tea options. We came early on Saturday and it was a little busy but luckily we didn’t have to wait for a table. Some people who came after us needed to wait but I don’t think any of them waited more than 10 or 15 minutes. There’s metered street parking near by that’s 25cents per half hour. There’s a small discount if you pay cash. I would definitely recommend this place and hope we can return soon!

The tea, coffee and food were all delicious. The place is really beautiful. I loved all of the decorations, especially the hundreds of teapots all over. The atmosphere is very charming. It appeals to anyone looking for great food in an extremely friendly setting. Service was a little slow as we arrived at the beginning of a rush, but the food was worth the wait.

I love this restaurant! The aesthetic and decor are so pretty and give cozy English vibes. I had the chicken pot pie and it was delicious and hearty. My friend had the soup de jour (it was New England clam chowder today). The waitress recommended the soup and it lived up to the hype. There’s a great tea selection and they come in the cutest teapots! Would definitely recommend coming here!

Came here for lunch and it was amazing! Love the tea pots and tea cups! The menu is wonderful with something for everyone. I had the walnut salad and it was delicious.
