Very thankful that they were able to see my gerbil with breathing difficulty/upper respiratory issues with such short notice. Every other vet wanted me to wait weeks. They’re extremely knowledgeable with rodents and I felt very comfortable leaving my gerbil with them. The staff and doctor I dealt with were very nice and had us back on the road in only a couple hours. I would rather drive the hour out of my way to come back here then any of my local vets.

They’re always so professional and kind to us and always answer all of my questions. I can be a very anxious owner and tend to over think. Dr. Lee is amazing so are all the nurses and receptionist they never get annoyed at my questions and are always happy to help!

Long Island Bird & Exotics Veterinary Clinic is officially my to go to clinic. My first time coming here I was greeted and felt welcomed. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor who catered to my beardie was very knowledgeable and professional. She gave me very useful information and made a few suggestions. I fell in love with this veterinary clinic after receiving such amazing feedback. I owe it all to them they are so kind so caring and, I thank you. You just got yourself a loyal customer will be returning soon.

This place treats your pet as an actual patient. They have a thoughtful methodology, a scientific thoughtful approach in determining what your pet actually needs. Every-single-member of the staff here, from the very start to the very finish and through the follow ups, shows they care about the quality of their work and furthermore they actually care about our little fluffy floofy friends. We owe it to our little friends to be treated as living beings that have a complex physiology. I have nothing but admiration for every single member in this place. Also, Koukla says "hello"

Wonderful service. We had to go here for an emergency when our vet didn’t have availability. So thankful to have had my rat Lucy taken such good care of, & for love she was given from the staff ❤️ We received a lovely card with a portrait of her which was so unexpected. Would recommend this vet for emotional emergency rat situations, she was treated like a queen ❤️

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING doctor, staff, and facility. Wow I can’t even put into words how much the staff made me feel at ease when dropping off my bun for a spay. I was a complete nervous and anxious mess before I got there, and the vet took the time to answer all my questions, and the staff also updated me with photos and phone calls to give me updates on how my bun was doing. I left feeling so at ease knowing she was in the right hands. I wish they took humans too because I would love to come here myself for checkups haha, even though this is an hour from my house, I will forever be making the trip and coming here, very worth it. 🙏

This is a HUGE thank you to the staff here. The vets are amazing but so are their staff. They deal with my chicken lady crazy with incredible kindness. And they care enough to check-in regularly. I received- unprompted -weekly phone calls to check in on my injured chicken throughout her treatment. They have helped when some of my other girls have been sick. It is 45 min away from my house but I don’t care. The drive is completely worth it. Thank you guys for saving Tubs- she thoroughly enjoys sunbathing in them middle of the floor now.

Love this practice! I can’t even begin to explain my experience with LIBEVC! I can honestly say I would recommend this place 100%. I took my bird, Sasu, here for a second opinion & it was the best choice I could’ve made for Sasu! Dr Lee is wonderful! She listened to my concerns and ensure I understood and felt comfortable with the plan of care she had for Sasu. The front desk staff is also great! Kaitlyn is always a pleasure, she has great intrapersonal skills, responds in a timely manner & is super informative!! Love this place over all !

This place has been so great at taking care of two of my rabbits! They are so kind and thorough talking to pet owners about any concerns and the people who work there really do the most to take sincere care of all creatures. My little boy Floppy was so comfy with the vet he ended up taking a nap during his own checkup.

I brought my bird Max in and they took really good care of him. Although he didn’t make it, I felt like he was truly cared for and I received this card in the mail. The drawing looks just like him that it brought tears to my eyes so thank you LIBEVC staff.

I brought my bird in after a tragic emergency and Dr. Vecere and her team were AMAZING!!! We were greeted so nicely and every staff member was sincere and warm during that stressful time. Dr Vassir was sure to explain everything in detail to me that she was doing & her plan of action for my bird. Not only is she a great doctor and was extremely thorough but she also is extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. I would recommend this veterinary hospital in a heartbeat! I am so blessed to have such a skilled, compassionate team of exotic vets close to home for my Sunshine at Long Island Bird & Exotics! They make me feel at ease and handle him with warmth and compassion. They know he stresses very easily and after a tough transition to the office this last visit, Dr. Raa not only tried her best not to stress him further, but it seems like she destressed him because right after the visit he was super happy and playful. She held him in such a tender professional way in his little washcloth bunting that he felt secure and relaxed. Thank you for always being there for us and providing the best care and attention! Dr. Gina Vecere treated my tortoise Goldie bc he was not eating, she found via X-ray that he had swallowed two quarters! After following her treatment plan, his appetite has returned and his plumbing is back to normal. Dr. Vecere is a rare veterinarian bc so few vets actually know how to treat reptiles. LIBEVC provides awesome animal care, plus their professional staff really enjoy helping pets and their owners. Their fees are very reasonable compared to other regional animal hospitals with the same level of experience and talent 🙏🏼

I brought my guinea pig here since he was wheezing and I thought he had developed a growth under his lip. The staff was super friendly and took really good care of my little boy. Turned out he didn't have a growth under his lip, it was just stuck on food or something but the doctor did prescribed him something for the wheezing. After finishing the medicine he hasn't had any issues and has been a lot more active. I would definitely recommend this place if your guinea pig needs a vet!

Brought my cockatiel here a few months ago for an emergency. They were professional, kind and understanding. They gave me advice and information on changes that needed to be made such as diet and environment. Tara is now much healthier and happier with the changes that were made! 🥰

Very happy with this vet. Our hamster was ill and the office got us in rather quickly compared to other vets I called. Everyone was very friendly and did a thorough job in asking about her prior activity level and current symptoms. The vet seemed honest and did not try to do unnecessary testing but did explain all our options. They also called a few days after our visit to check on the status of our hamster. I would recommend this office for exotic pets. Thank you, LIBEVC!

I am so blessed to have found such a great place to treat my bunny. Benito, my bunny wasn’t feeling well for a couple days so I decided to take him here. The minute I walked into this office, I felt calm and peaceful because how amazing the staff welcomed me and Benito. They were super kind, sweet and careful when treating my bunny. After he was treated by Dr. Gina, he came back home and started feeling better, and his appetite came back. Thank you ☺️

LIBEVC is outstanding in both the care of my rabbits but also in customer service. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. It is extremely easy to get in contact with them as well. There is nobody else I would trust to care for my babies; I have been going here for 2 years so far. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and Thorough with exams! They take the time to explain everything to you and answer any questions you have. This is the longest review I have ever written, but I am just so grateful to them for caring for my babies.I would never go anywhere else. If I could rate them higher than 5, I would!!

I love Long Island Bird & Exotics! They are the only ones I trust to take care of my Guinea pigs. The staff is kind, caring and attentive. They never push for unnecessary treatments so you can tell they’re not after your money. I love that they are focused on exotics and are extremely knowledgeable. I just visited yesterday to bring my newest Guinea pig for a check up and they were amazing as always. I can’t recommend them enough!

I really, truly wish with all of my heart that I could give this place more than 5 stars. In all of my years of living, I have never met medical professionals who are as superb as Dr. Raa and staff. They patiently listen while we blubber on when our pets are sick, and are willing to take the time to truly allow us to vent all of our fears and anxieties. They are so knowledgeable and instantly make you feel at ease. They allow you to participate in your pet's treatment plan to ensure that no stone goes left unturned. They explain everything to you to ensure you know all the best ways to care for your pet. And they go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and confident that your pet is in safe and capable hands - when they had to keep my little guy overnight, they sent me photos that night of him eating the fresh veggies they had just given him. I mean really, that is top shelf customer service!! No amount of words could accurately describe how incredible this place is - you must go to see for yourselves!

Today was my first time at Long Island Exotics, and I’ve finally found a place I can trust well enough to take care of my avians. I’ve been to many vets but this is the first one that sat down and explained everything to me thoroughly, and I felt safe leaving my senior bird in their care. Not only are they friendly and welcoming, but they’re informative and sincere with the level of care that they provide. I’ll continue to drive the distance just to get there, because the care and expertise they provide is exceptional. This is the only vet I’ll be coming to with my birds. I truly adore this clinic and I’ll be a customer for all of my years to come. Lastly, here’s a photo of Bean Sprout, the cute mascot that greets you at the door.

I can’t express how amazing this vet is. My bunny stopped eating and went through GI Stasis, I brought her there in a panic and they were so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They treated her for about 3 days and brought her back to perfect health. I can’t recommend them enough.

Thank you so much to Dr. Gina Vecere, she’s truly an amazing doctor and a really kind and compassionate person!! As a beardie mom, I trust and value Dr. Vecere’s opinion so much! A few months ago, a small part of my bearded dragon tails fell off, we rushed him to the vet the next day and not only did she treat my beardie but she also diagnosed him right away after seeing him symptoms. I’ve brought my beardie Ace to other vets numerous time and they could never figure out what was wrong but after one appointment with Dr. Vecere and running a few test, it was clear that Ace has adenovirus. I also had to make the most difficult decision to put my youngest beardie to sleep because she unexpectedly got sick over night and after bringing her to LIBEV and getting a second opinion from Dr. Vecere, I felt and knew in my heart it was the right thing to do and put my baby to rest. The staff was very kind during this time and I’m forever grateful! Dr. Vecere’s knowledge is out of this world and whenever I bring my bearded dragons in for an appointment, I know they are receiving the absolute best care! She explains everything in detail and always gives you all the options while still making you feel at ease. She also takes the time to give me a follow up call after each vet appointment to check on my bearded dragons. If you are looking for a doctor that treats patients with so much care and a staff that is extremely warm and friendly from the minute you walk through the door then I highly recommend bringing your reptile babies to LIBEV!! Where do I start? As a first time reptile owner and not too sure where to go for an issue such as the one Mango might be going through currently, I did some research and found this place online. From the front desk, to the assistants, and then to the amazing Doctor. I truly can’t thank you all enough for not only calming my worry wart self but the knowledge, and very thorough questions as well as awesome advice on how we can treat and make sure Mango has the best life. I left the clinic tonight feeling a whole lot better for my scaly baby. So with that being said, if you’re a new or an experienced reptile owner this is the Vet for you!

Such an excellent exotic vet! My axolotl had a growth in her mouth preventing her from eating and I truly didn't know what to do. I called Long Island Bird & Exotics on a whim and they were able to see her in that same week. After assessing the issue, we scheduled a surgery and they successfully removed the growth! The doctor and nurse were so incredibly kind and informative, I trusted them every step of the way. The reception staff are also so sweet and caring. Cannot recommend this vet enough, especially for axolotls! Thank you again!!!
