I've
worked
with
treatment
centers
for
the
better
part
of
a
decade;
meeting
some
of
the
worst
examples
of
doctors
who
rely
on
people
suffering
with
addiction
to
profit;
but
also
aligning
doctors,
who
become
life-long
friends
in
the
process.
Dr.
Kahn
treats
sees
his
patients
as
the
people
who
are
buried
under
the
debris
of
their
addictions,
right
from
the
beginning.
He
looks
beyond
the
the
addiction
to
find
the
beauty
that's
there,
waiting,
hoping
and
desperate
for
rescue.
He
depends
his
patients
on,
and
off,
the
field;
scorning
anyone
who
views
addiction
ad
a
business,
instead
of
a
mental
health
opportunity;
defending
people
he
cares
about
like
friends
are
supposed
to
do.
He
fights
legislation
that
interrupts
telemedicine,
knowing
who
loses
the
most,
are
his
patients,
caring
about
how
our
lives
are
interrupted.
He
doesn't
see
people
with
unsolvable
problems,
but
people
who
need
guidance,
mentorship,
and
purpose,
and
then
he
works
hard
to
offer
all
three.
He
works
with
every
budget,
every
schedule,
every
walk
of
life;
who
once
have
met
him,
never
leave,
dare
they
gamble
the
ethical
misfortune
of
doctors
in
this
field
who
don't
actually
care.
We
all
struggle,
we
all
get
lost,
no
matter
what
the
problem,
or
how
long
it's
existed,
this
is
where
the
rest
of
your
life
begins
again.
Make
the
call,
change
everything,
suffering
stops,
here.
