Awesome nature area great for on foot or by bike. Over ten different mapped trails with varying levels of difficulty. Can do anything from a 1-mile easy walk to a 20+ mi bike ride. The trails are almost all shaded by trees so great place to go on hot sunny Texas summer days. Only downside is trails take awhile to dry out after the sun so be sure you check on the DORBA website to make sure trails are open before making the drive there.

Great place to bike or walk. Lots of different trails with different challenges. It's not the Hill country, but for North Texas, it's definitely worth a visit. Loops 7 and 13 offer a better challenge for both bikers and walkers. A great.oasis in the city. I have seen wild cats on loop 7, so be careful if you have a dog with you. I gave 4 stars because although I love this trail, it's not in the mountains!

I take my scouts here often to hike or to do trail bike-rides. I've even taken a kid's bike trailer that I towed and it fit in all the trails. This is important because while I had an 11 year old passing off his scouting requirements, I couldn't leave my 2 year old at home so he rode along with me in the bike trailer. And the trails were wide enough for it. There were a few difficult spots but for the most part, trailer friendly. Our Scout Troop was also responsible for clearing the trash in 2013. Update: 5/10/2017: Even after all the rain and flooding a few months ago, the trails are still very hike-able. There were also a lot of trail-bikers there tonight. I love this place, lots of trails and still well maintained. It was a great evening to hike tonight. Another thing, I've been here several times and have even cleaned up by picking up trash but tonight was the firs time I saw a snake, 2 of them in fact. I didn't know nor even think of having snakes there.

Great natural trails for walking or biking. Wooded areas are beautiful with large trees and open fields are kept up well. Some trails follow Rowlett creek.

I hit this trail as often as I can! Quiet, relaxing and a perfect place to get a nice joggers high! That being said what we have pictured below is an Eastern Copperhead. These guys are venomous but rarely bite unless provoked so just best to turn the other way and if jogging with kids or pets please keep an eye out... there were two more close so if your from TX you know what that means! Cheers friends and family! Enjoy this place it's awesome!

Pretty quiet and secluded. You could park your car and eat breakfast or lunch while you watch the beauty of water and sky.. Not enough parking space(less 1 star) & just one seating area(seats 4)

Great trail. Easy to walk, even for me. I'm 53 and have back and heart issues.. My sister and I, felt safe and will definately be coming back... The only issue I had with this trail, is the trash that was in the creek. I truly hope it can be cleaned up. ( I have more pictures, and will add as soon as I upload from my camera)

Great trails, make sure you follow the trail signs and go the opposite way of the mountain bikes if you're hiking.

It's a nice area to ride a bike or hike! There are also some good spots for bank fishing. The parking is good with some shady areas to keep the car cool.

Love the trails here! Hiking or biking. There’s different level of difficulties on the bike routes. Make sure you follow the signs and go the CORRECT way. Different starting/ending points for hiking and biking.

Nice getaway from the city in Rowlett. Off of Centerville Rd, this open space offers walking/hiking trails, clean John's, creek, wildlife and amenities for off road biking. Not to mention, very friendly people. Did see two çoyotes, so keep an eye on your small pets.

It was a great visit. We walked two trails. Soooo much land and trees. A beautiful view of the lake. I love it. Can’t wait to go back.

Adults walked while our kids rode bikes. Great paths. Don’t ride bikes near the creek. Very dangerous for kids. There are lots of different paths to choose from.

Trees are nice and big. Great shade cover - made the walk enjoyable even on a late summer evening. A nice local place to get a quick break 'out' of the city. Once you're in it, it could even be like a little taste of paradise (for that love forests).

A lot of bikers, too few hikers. A lot of interconnected trails. Short hikes to hikes that could last hours depending on which route you take. Great way to ramp up your hiking mileage by stacking up hikes on a single area but different routes.
