Lovely state park, we enjoyed every minute of our visit. Clean facilities and well the pics show better a bit of them. Be careful if you take the red trail cause in the boundaries of the park you'll find agressive dogs.

This is a gem of a state park and place to camp! Electricity, water and fire pits at each station with restrooms within walking distance with great showers, hot water and the bathrooms are pumped with warm air when it is cold. Awesome hiking trails and beautiful lake nearby. Super friendly staff and clientele! Had the best experience!!

Beautiful and clean! This place is one of the cleanest parks I've ever been to. Many places to hike, beautiful swimming areas, clean bathrooms, and helpful staff! Sooooo many raccoons! They will rob you, but they are cute! I was amazed at how many are in the park! We also watched a guy catch a 16-pound fish. Tons turtles, birds, and frogs. Kayak rental is available as well, $25 for 2 hours!

This is one nice quaint state Park. The camping spots are spacious and mostly shaded. There a a few piers to fish from and the facilities are clean. There are a few short easy hiking trails to enjoy.

Purtis Creek was a lovely and easy place to enjoy. The walking trails were well maintained and it felt very comfortable to be there. I did see a place to rent kayaks which is helpful. I only walked, but found the park to be delightful! Also as a quick aside I went during fall and there were tons of American beauty berry plants. It was so interesting

One of the best places to spend a day outside! From the swimming area to the playground to the hiking trails to boating, you won't get bored! There is a $5/adult entry fee (12 and under free) but for what you get 5 bucks is nothing. Yall get out there and check it out!!

This park may be small but it is big on relaxing and enjoying nature. The campsites are a little close together but we weren't too bothered by neighbors. We saw a beaver, armadillos, raccoons, deer and tons of dragon flies. Caught a couple of fish but nothing to write home about. The sites we had were very unlevel. Other than that, they were nice and spacious sites. Tables are not covered. There are not many trails and they are pretty easy without much elevation change. They do have a park store with some souvenirs. All of the park employees were super nice and informative. There are 2 fishing piers pretty close together. 1 is lighted and the other is not. There is a lighted cleaning station nearby. There is also a large day use area for swimming, picnics and launching vessels. This is a no wake lake which also adds to the peacefulness. The night sky was beautiful although there is some light pollution. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We have been visiting State Parks to see which we like better and I feel Purtis Creek is probably one of our top choices. Talk about well maintained areas. Grass is well cut and it looks so clean. Staff is super friendly too. The camp sites are just beautiful. The sites near the lake are wonderful even though there aren’t too many, but still great. The fishing docks are so spacious and just a great fishing spot. Beautiful scenery. Love the convenience of having the fish cleaning station near the fishing dock

It's a pretty park and decent sized, but not in my top. Pros: a lot of availability at last minute, the water is nice and cold, a lot of wildlife to see, playground near the swim area for the kids, very dog friendly Cons: not much room for swimming, the swimming area is small since the creek gets deep very quickly so it's packed, definitely murky water, not many showers so expect a wait We loved our camp spot. Right off the water and the camp hosts were nice. I feel like in a pinch it will do but not a must see.

"Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." ~ John Muir Our state and national parks are essential. We need to preserve them and establish more public natural outdoor spaces. Wonderful trails and adventure await you here at Purtis Creek!

Had an awesome weekend primitive camping! We had about a mile hike to our spot but it was a very nice walk. We were even able to drag our wagon! The Highlight was catching a large blue cat right from the bank of our site! Only downside wS they need to treat the fire ants covering the primitive spots. Hard to find a clear spot put up a tent when there are so many. Other than that awesome time!

Very nice and tidy State Park. Lake is so easily accessible and beautiful. Loved doing bbq over there. It's popular for fishing. Playground is good and safe for kids. Restrooms are clean and well equipped. Kayak is available with self rental system. Picnic area is well organized and clean.

What a nice State Park. Nice sized camping sites to accommodate RV's and tents with space between the next site. Electric and water sites available with Poles for the lanterns. Nice firepit which we used for grilling burgers and chicken fajitas. They were yummylicious. Dump station at the entrance. Small lake for fishing and there is a cleaning station. Lots of walking, biking and hiking trails. The bathhouse has toilets and shower. Internet and streaming are iffy here. Our Winegard didn't work great and the Travl hot spot wasn't consistent enough to work on my laptop. But if you and your kids need an excuse to get off devices, this is the place. AT&T cells worked well. We will be coming back here again and it is close to home. Debbie and Bruce Schwanbeck Fathom Realty #DebbieAndBruce

It’s a beautiful, bucolic setting, with easy hiking trails, an accessible lake, and widely spaced campsites that provide a lot of privacy. I was here for a winter week that included a bad ice storm and several days of deep freezes. The staff and camp hosts were extraordinarily helpful, kind, and approachable. They made a scary situation comfortable.

This park is great, camped at site 22. Which was on the lake, beautiful view of the lake. Fishing dock and pier within walking distance. Clean bathrooms and showers, and lots of hiking trails. Very clean and nice day use area with playground, fishing pier and boat ramp. Also dog friendly, no stickers or goat heads.

As a kayak Fisherman this lake is great. No wake boats, jet ski's or speedboats. Idle speed only. Bass fishing is good, not too crowded during the week...

Beautiful state park! Easy to navigate and great camping spots! We didn't have a lot of luck today, but I'm sure as the weather warms up it will be a different story!
